About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- H7279VHlouisem0 contributionsGreat day out!The tour was a great way to see the scenery in Northern Ireland. The scenery was beautiful and the sites we stopped at were fab. The tour guide Patrick was great, very informative and funny. He made the day better with his chat. The game of thrones areas were great and backed up with the commentary from Patrick it made it better. Overall it was a excellent day out and we thoroughly enjoyed itWritten March 23, 2025
- emmacB6418ZD0 contributionsExcellentBrilliant, driver and guide Patrick was funny and informative ,beautiful scenery and worth the money for the trip, would recommend this to all visiting BelfastWritten March 23, 2025
- collins14050 contributionsHighly recommendWe booked this one-day tour and were absolutely delighted. If you're lucky enough to have Wilson as your driver, the trip will be even more enjoyable. Although he considers himself the nivel driver, he has such charisma that you'll enjoy every moment of the journey. Without a doubt, he is the best ambassador for the brand. He made sure to explain everything in detail at each stop and was always attentive, even recommending a fantastic place for lunch, which we highly recommend. He did all of this with a smile and genuine kindness. Without a doubt, this will be our first choice for future trips.Written March 22, 2025
- 834annb0 contributionsWorth the Time!Patrick packed a lot into the day! Lots of humor, history, and interesting Game of Thrones info along with great photo opportunities.Written March 22, 2025
- elizabethmK8813RW0 contributionsPleasant surprise, would recommendWe were visiting Belfast without a car so needed a coach trip to see the Giants Causeway. Was slightly anxious as don't normally do coach trips and wondered if would get overwhelmed or irritated by large group. Pleasantly surprised only 18 of us on our small coach / bus and we paid the extra for the premium tickets which was worth the money for the view. Our driver / guide was Patrick who was excellent - good knowledge and humour throughout the tour. Pleased with the range of sites on offer and time available at each stop. Would recommend.Written March 21, 2025
- NorthStar2258000 contributionsFantastic DayI attended the Giant's Causeway/Game of Thrones tour with my husband and I'm so glad we chose McComb's. The tour was perfect and everything ran so smoothly. Patrick was our driver and he was fantastic. He gave us lots of helpful information at each stop such as where to get the best photos or which shops to visit for a coffee or snack. He kept us entertained during the drive between the stops and provided lots of interesting information as well. I would thoroughly recommend McComb's to anyone.Written March 20, 2025
- Navigator7099040 contributionsbeautiful tour! This tour was incredible. It took me to all the sights I wanted to see in Northern Ireland. Our guide was hilarious and knowledgeable which added even more to the experience.Written March 20, 2025
- AlisonJSP0 contributionsThe Best Experience! We had such an amazing day with Patrick, our driver and guide! The bus was very comfortable and we had plenty of stops to some incredible sites and little towns along the coast. Patrick was so engaging and knowledgeable and we really enjoyed all of the information he provided us! Of course, visiting the Giants Causeway was a highlight but we really enjoyed the entire day and everything we got to see, we would highly recommend for anyone visiting Belfast!Written March 20, 2025
- luciahA5838OM0 contributionsA great day out!Our tour guide Patrick was fantastic, very funny with interesting facts. Really great day out, good value for money. Plenty of stops allong the way and on the way back, with ample opportunity to grab food and go to the toilet. Fantatic views of the coast and a good amount of time spent at the causeway.Written March 19, 2025
- BobN6620 contributionsEnjoyable full day tour!Enjoyable full day excursion, departed on time with fantastic scenery along the Antrim coast, with just the right balance of stops along the way. We stopped at a nice well organised pub for lunch, which was enjoyable. Worth paying a little extra for the Premium coach seats, better views at the font of the coach. Our driver/guide 'Patrick' was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and humorous! Well done Patrick!Written March 19, 2025
- broguer0 contributionsGiants of a causewayWhat an awesome place. Highly recommend you take the tour. Our guide was fantastic and gave us a great background relating to the formation of the causeway, wildlife and quite a few great Irish yarns!Written March 18, 2025
- mariacD9874BY0 contributionsStunningI totally had a great experience it’s my first time in Belfast I came over from Glasgow and booked seeing the giants causeway while still at home through Viator. I’m not a fan of game of thrones I didn’t have to be as the scenery was stunning and I also enjoyed the stops where you could get toilet facilities and lunch. Carl our driver was top notch very informative and cracked a few jokes along the way which added to a pleasant journey, as a solo traveller he made my journey much more pleasant like giving out good and informative guidance and advice. ide recommend this excursion it is a must and enjoyed the homemade scones and icecream at the causeways tea room and hotel. and a we bonus if you have any problems walking there’s a wee bus service which takes you up n down the hill (€£1 single) finally I enjoyed Carls knowledge of each landmark/site and getting a bit of history and was surprised the connection to Scotland Is closer than I first thought (I need to get out more) all in all a well added bonus to my holiday Oh I enjoyed the steak n Guinness pie not included in price of excursion but the whole trip was defo value for money and money well spent and bus was comfyWritten March 17, 2025
- Curious617179936290 contributionsGreatGreat day out, weather made the views a lot better. Steep walk down to the rocks but enjoyable. Wear comfortable shoes!!Written March 17, 2025
- VonS2860 contributionsGame Of Thrones Tour/Giant CausewayWow what amazing excursion this was. Karl our driver was so informative and of course that great Northern Irish humor! It's a 9 hour trip but time flies. The drive along the coast is absolutely beautiful, no wonder this was voted top 5 road trip in the world! Pictures does not do it justice. Karl explained we may see dolphin's and whales! Just as he said that we saw dolphin's all caught on camera. My partner and I are massive Game Of Thrones geeks, to see the filming locations was fantastic! Iron islands was closed off due to filming the New Movie/series of GOT. How exciting! Giant Causeways was so beautiful. We had clear blue skies all day which I know how lucky we was to experience this. Karl kindly reminded us that we should return in summer and see the real Irish weather haha. Every stop was worth it and Karl knew his stuff. Would 100% recommend this tour. You don't need to watch GOT to enjoy this trip. The views are breath taking.Written March 16, 2025
- O5012ZAjenniferm0 contributionsInaccurate Description, Still Worth the MoneyFirst, I’ll state that I enjoyed this tour. I think I would have enjoyed fewer stops with more time at each stop, but that’s on me for choosing this. It did feel a lot like we were just getting out to snap a few photos each time and then back on the bus. The only stop that had any real time to it was Giants Causeway. Second, the locations were in themselves great. Giants Causeway was beautiful and easily the highlight. My second favorite spot was actually Carnlough Harbour (where the wounded Arya gets out of the water). This was such a lovely little town and marina with amazing views. Third, our bus driver / tour guide gave a lot of great info so you understood the significance of what you’re seeing, even from the bus ride. This tour spends a LOT of time on the bus, so it was interesting to have that time filled up with facts and history. He even included some Game of Thrones references / stories. He also gave good advice about where the bathrooms are free and made sure we understood which stops would have shops, etc. he repeated himself a lot and sometimes came off as condescending, but I’m sure that’s based on doing many tours with guests that don’t pay attention. (Note: All this information is 100% in English with little to no accommodations for people who do not understand spoken English.) Now, to my critique: This tour operator McCombs Coaches apparently has no qualms changing the itinerary without telling you. First, they dropped us off at a completely different location from where we were picked up (contrary to what the description says) and only told us they were going to do that once the tour had started. No explanation as to why. I was fine, but I can’t imagine this works well for everyone, especially anybody with mobility concerns. Second, they did not take us to the Cushendun Caves at all. I understand that the caves are temporarily (potentially permanently) closed, but based on what our guide said, that was not a last minute change. Third, we never saw any “Door of Thrones”, though the guide mentioned it. Also note that if you are basing your decision on photos from previous tours, there isn’t a Game of Thrones throne anymore in any stop on this tour. Fourth, while some of the stops in the description are technically accurate, they are also misleading. The Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is just something you view from afar. The guide said repeatedly that coaches aren’t allowed to take guests there, and even if they were, you have to book the rope bridge experience ahead of time online and there isn’t enough time on the stop. The Bushmills Distillery is also something you just visit the gift shop and maybe have time for the tasting room (but not really). The distillery has tours, but it’s like an hour long and there isn’t nearly enough time in the stop. So again, technically the description is not wrong, but they could have been clearer about what you’re not getting and how to enjoy those things on your own if they are main attractions for you. Lastly, I’ll offer some advice: If you’re still thinking of doing this tour — and again, I definitely think it’s worth the money! — please know that you can easily leave your stuff on the bus while at stops, so bring that coat / hat / gloves / water / snacks / etc. it can get cold in the wind (and rain) at some of the stops, and while I had amazing sunny weather the day I did this, I understand that’s not true all the time. Also, plenty (not all) stops have hot beverages and/or water available somewhere (for a fee, of course). However, the only way to eat a hot lunch is if you eat at the restaurant and bar the tour takes you to. The guide said repeatedly you can’t eat anywhere else in that town. There were a few chicken / beef options, but only one pescatarian option, one vegetarian option, and no vegan or gluten free options. You can choose to pack your own lunch, but it just can’t be a hot food lunch. If you’re fine with that, I would recommend doing that.Written March 16, 2025

We go to Kildare at this time every year and it really starts off your Christmas! It is absolutely beautiful and the Christmas lights are up from the beginning of November. There are lots of bargains to be had but just check online as we noticed that a coat we were going to purchase at 130 euros was only £99 in Next! Really lovely experience and atmosphere and great places to eat - A must visit!

The range of outlets is fabulous! Prices are very keen and we also benefited from additional Black Friday savings. I would highly recommend this trip and it’s great for Christmas shopping!

It was great from start to finish. I was a bit worried about the pick up because of the road works but their communication was very good - got call the day before to say meet at Europa and a McComb's rep would be there to direct me where to get the bus. Worked out smoothly. The coach was comfy and was happy to be able to charge my phone all the way down and back. Straight down from 0820 and arrived around 11am. Got the discount card, which was great. Kildare Village was busy-ish but got very busy around 2pm. Got back on the bus at 5pm and in Belfast around 7.45pm. Great trip altogether! Highly recommend!

Today I was at Kildare Village with Craig from McComb’s coach Travel. All lifts were on time, we had a comfort stop at Applegreen just before Dublin & arrived at Kildare around 11-30am. We were free to shop till 5pm when we headed back arriving at Sprucefield at 7-30pm. Our driver Craig was a real gentleman with a great sense of humour telling us what we needed to know & warning we were liable to be photographed (i’ll Explain later) His play list was brilliant as was his driving. Just before Kildare we got a Christmas song to “put us in the mood to shop” & on the way home we had Thriller & Monster Mash in darkness with fireworks visible in the distance. The piece de resistance was our wonderful coach The Official Northern Ireland team coach, hence the photos. We even had Sweet Caroline & We’re Not Brazil We’re Northern Ireland as we neared home which was a great sing a long. Another brilliant tour from McComb’s, thank you
