Next, stop at the vertiginous Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge that spans the gap between the mainland and the tiny island of Carrick-a-Rede. From here, it’s just a short journey to the Giant’s Causeway, the geological and mythological wonder with its hexagonal basalt columns: you can buy lunch here or bring your own. Follow in the footsteps of the giants of Irish folklore, and see if you can spot the Wishing Chair or Giant’s Boot. After learning the history of these ancient rock formations, visit the Dark Hedges, which you may well recognize as the Kingsroad in 'Game of Thrones.' Finally, travel inland back to Belfast to end your tour.

We went on a tour to the Giant's Causeway operated by Allen's Tours in August 2022.

We were driven by Darren who was a friendly and pleasant driver who gave a comprehensive commentary along the way as we passed through the various towns and villages along the North Antrim coastline. His knowledge and experience from living in the area brought everything to life and made it more enjoyable.

My wife, who had booked the tour as part of a Birthday surprise for me said the office staff at Allen's were very helpful and the booking experience was very smooth. The pickup in the centre of Belfast was easy and we found the tour rep without any fuss and our names were on the list.

There is enough time to get down and back to the Causeway when you get there, but possibly not enough time to also go round the visitor centre, should you wish to. The other stops are fairly short so do not expect to have a great amount of time at Carrickfergus, Bushmills or the Dark Hedges. If you want to spend more time at these locations, you would be best booking a different tour.

This is very much a whistlestop tour of the main sights of the North Antrim coast and is best to be booked if you only have one day to spare to see these locations. It certainly fitted our requirements and gave us a taster of places that we may return to for longer in the future.

The tour was also great value and you will be hard pressed to find another that packs so much in for the price.

I would recommend Allen's 100% if you want a day tour from Belfast.

A very well-thought trip for those who want to see a bit of everything without spending too much time or lacking of it. The time there is limited if you want to go through all of it with pictures and pay the 13pounds to visit the gift shop. Would have been nice to see the Bushmills distillery. The driver was very descriptive and with a lot of humor which helps to counterbalance the gray weather.

Great service from start to finish.
Booked online easily, turned up on the day to be greeted by happy, smiley staff. Nice coach, prompt departure.
The driver was called Lindsay and he was a comical font of knowledge who was really engaging.
Stops were long enough to have a look around and take photographs.
If I did the tour again I would take lunch, even a £3 meal deal, as the lunch stop was OK food but not particularly good value for money.
I would definitely use Allen's again for a tour.

My 2 friends and I booked with Allen's on a rainy day in May. First stop was Carrickfergus Castle, we were told the council were on strike so the public loos were closed, there was an absence of loo roll on the bus, our driver Darren was apologetic & found us another loo stop nearby.
Darren's drive-through commentary was insightful & interesting & made for a pleasant journey to the causeway where we were greeted by fine rain that soaks you through x 1000.
Having hailed from Manchester, the relentless precipitation was not going to dampen our spirits!. Our soggy bottoms piled back onto the bus with a hot chocolate in hand to warm the cockles!.
We were disappointed to hear the heating on the bus was broken which would have made for a much more comfy trip back to Belfast. My friend was constantly being dripped on, thankfully she hadn't taken off her waterproof trousers& I couldn't help thinking I wish I'd kept the morning paper to sit on! 😅. Before we set off a customer briefly volunteered to become a human windscreen wiper to clear the steam off the front window and within a couple of miles of the city centre the wipers finally packed in for good. As Darren collected rubbish at the end of the trip I thought it may have been better to throw the bus in the bin!.
Would I travel with Allen's again?, my friends and I had a great day full of laughs but until Allen's buy a new bus- I'll take a rain check!!.

Receieved as a christmas present. Bar getting to see the dark hedges there was nothing else game of thrones ,I think including game of throne sites is very misleading as we got a "ses that wall thats were castle black was" "see that beach way over there in the distance? Thats were they shot this scene", yes we did get to see the dark heges but that is the only game of thrones related experience that you could actually see..
it was basically 6 hours on a bus to spend 1.5hours at the giants causeway (It wouldn't have taken that long to get to it from my house). Lunch was in the hedges hotel it was shockingly over priced, I had chicken curry, the sauce was hot, the rice was cold, the chicken was barely warm and the carrot was raw. All in all a horrendous long boring day in the freezing cold.

Sarah very strange if you are from this country and you received a gift of a great day trip you would take this trip in January. 6 hours on a bus would take you to the south of England so not sure what bus you where on but i would suggest taking your ear phones out when on a guided tour you might hear something of interest plus if you are in a restaurant and there is something displeasing you with your food why not ask the restaurant to fix it for you, Maybe a good idea is for you to get out more often

If you can schedule in this trip to Northern Ireland, you must. It is an astonishing abd scenic view, so stunning it's enough to take your breath away. I recommend going when the weather is dry and sunny, during May - August for the best experience.

We booked this tour as we wanted to visit the Giants Causeway from Belfast. We're so glad we did as not only did we manage this we also visited various lovely spots along the way all hosted by a fantastic guide/driver Lindsey.

The group was small with just 14 of us from various countries. We booked via Trip Advisor and it cost £18 per person.

We cannot recommend this highly enough!

Had a great time at the causeway tour organized by the hotel we stayed in. Tour driver was very funny and very informative. Stopped at a lot of great spots and sat on the side of the bus which give coastal views on the route to the causeway. The café we stopped at for lunch was excellent. Definitely recommend for your stay in Belfast.

Great day out Lindsay was an excellent guide driver and really introduced those not from these shores to the sense of humour they might come to expect. Would love if they would include the caves in Cushendun as an alternative to the rope bridge as it's closed or even if it could be pushed into the itinerary. Wonderful trip and a great birthday treat for my son.

Thank you for your kind review Claire and we are so happy you had a great day. The caves in Cushendun would be a great place to go but the only problem is we can only get a small bus in there due to the small roads and sometimes we have a big 53 seater bus on our tour depending on numbers but thank you for the suggestion. We are glad your son had a great birthday.

I was immediately welcomed by the whole staff and our driver, Lindsey, was great. He offered awesome commentary and took us to a scenic spot that more than compensated for the road to the rope bridge being closed. Would recommend as it met all the expectations and more.
