We used the bus to get around both the town center & outlying areas to immerse ourselves in Shakespeare's world. And it saved us a lot of steps . . . because this is 'horse country'. The driver was very nice, the simple route matched the audio tape well, & we got to stay out of the famous English rain, so it was well worth the $$. There's confusion about where to pick up the bus to start the tour (Google!) but really it's literally between the Visitor Center building and the Pen & Parchment Pub NEAR the Bridge Foot. BTW, the folks in the Visitor Center were nice as well, while we waited for the bus and looked over all those brochures. We used the hop-on hop-off feature several times over the 24 clock hrs that our tickets allowed. An easy recommendation.

The tour is via a double decker open top bus. We purchased the day ticket £15 each you can hop on and off the bus at the different stops however, we just stayed on the bus and enjoyed the journey which takes about an hour. We then went round again.
The buses run approximately every 20 and is a good way of seeing the city and gaining some interesting information.
If you keep your receipt I believe you can use it to get discount on any other city sightseeing trips at other cities.
You can also get discount at various shops and pubs listed in the booklet/map.
Overall not a bad little trip.

We purchased tickets from the Tourist information centre next to the bus stop. Great friendly and efficient service in there.
Unfortunately we did not have a live tour guide, however the guide via headphones was very clear and informative. Most importantly in sync. I learnt loads of interesting facts and really enjoyed the tour.

We booked under the impression that the bus ran every 20 minutes, but when we arrived, were told that it works be running every hour. That meant we would have to wait an hour every time we got out the bus, but figured we already paid and could maybe manage the important stuff. Waited to get off at the furthest point first, Ann Hathaway's cottage. Bus driver said he would be back in an hour. 2 hours and five minutes later, he came back to get us. The next stop was the start of the tour and we had a train to catch so we had to run to see one other point of interest and could only spend 10 minutes there or we would miss our train back. Paid $59 for the bus and $60 for admission to see all the points of interest, got to 2. Daughter was super disappointed as this was to be the highlight of her trip. Won't be doing that again.

Always keen to explore the places we visit and this is a good way to do it usually. However, timetable was meant to be every 20 mins (still says this on the website) and waited well over a hour at one of the attractions near to our accommodation and no joy. Commitments the day of the booking meant that we could only get on the last bus of the day, and this left the start at 16:00 not 17:00 as advertised meaning there was no hop on hop off opportunities.
Driver explained changes from the audio description as we went (given some road closures). He was really good. However, £30 is a lot of money for what became a single trip around town on an old bus!

We have done plenty of hop on off bus tours, but this was by far the worst! Firstly, the buses only come every hour not every 20 minutes so that really defeats the object. The speed the driver drove was ridiculous! There was no time at all to enjoy the sites or take pictures. It was a whistle stop tour and we were back in 45 minutes ll All 'stops' complete although no-one got off - it didn't even slow down long enough to stop! The speed also makes dodging branches quite traumatic and very distracting so there is little enjoyment for fear of losing an eye. For £15 a head we could have taken a taxi in far more comfort. Prepare also to get very chilly and windswept. We disembarked dishevelled and disappointed. Lesson learnt. Is there a way to ask for a refund?

False advertising! How can it be ok to give leaflets out saying the buses will be every 20 minutes and then decide to just run them every hour? We stood at stop 6 for over an hour, missed out on going to Ann Hathaways cottage because had no idea that all the times on the bus stop were wrong. We even tried to call the number on the bus stop to find out what was happening and it wasn’t a current number. When we found the correct one we were stuck in a queue and nobody answered. The office was closed by the time we made it back. You are charging full price are only giving half the service!

Not a great experience.
Positives - good way to see the sights and a nice hour out.
Negatives - the audio commentary did not work on our seats and as the bus was packed we couldn’t move elsewhere. Also we were on the top left of the bus near the back. The bus kept on hitting low hanging branches on the route that were quite dangerous and could cause injury - be very careful.

Thought this would be a lovely way to spend a day out with the kids during the holidays. It was actually a complete waste of £20. Buses don’t arrive every 20 mins as advertised, they are once an hour. Which meant I was stuck in a car park with 2 young children for 50 minutes with nothing to keep them occupied. Once we got on the bus it was so busy we had to sit downstairs and no one had said you needed to provide your own headphones in order to get the commentary. When we got into town the bus crashed into a wooden gate when parking at the Tourist Info Centre and we all had to get off the bus and get on another one. After that there seemed to be no buses as we stood for over an hour to get back to our car in Shottery. Tried calling the info number but it is no longer in service. So had to walk with 2 young children for an hour to get back to our car. Horrendous experience and will be contacting the operator for a full refund.

We were visiting Stratford Upon Avon on a 2 day coach trip. My family enjoyed the tour learning about Shakespeare and the history of Stratford despite it raining some of the time. The only problem was some of ports the headphones plugged into weren't working. Our lovely female guide overcame the problem by moving closer to my parents so they could hear what she was saying into her microphone without using the headphones. I don't know if we were expected to use face coverings but all my family did do so. All 3 generations of the family found the tour interesting.

The bus tours are supposed to be till 31st October.
If it's not showing on the web site maybe they don't list dates till end of this month or maybe there's a glitch.
Alternatively you can just pay the bus driver on the day
