- MrsGandherboys00Lovely experienceBrilliant tasting and tour. Tiny distillery but packed with charisma! Enjoyed listening to the information about the process and tasting the results. So glad we had walked!
- Jess S00ExcellentI went with my mum and two sisters. What a fantastic experience. It was really informative and interesting, we found out many things we didn't know. We also got to sample a variety of their homemade products. Would definitely recommend it.
- oliviaaQ1206RO00A distillery I will certainly be visiting again! There are different alcohol tours, so whisky tour next! The gin, whisky and vodka all tasted absolutely amazing! They are all Oxford-grown and made, and the team at the distillery were both incredibly friendly and informative; I learned a lot from my experience there. Plus, there were dogs to play with which was a very nice surprise!! And finally, the venue was so gorgeous! Looking forward to coming back again :)
- MHMOM00A fabulous gin and whiskey distillery tourOur family (husband, wife and two daughters in their mid-20s) wanted to tour a gin distillery in either London or Oxfordshire. My initial inclination was to book one of the famous London locales but as it worked out for our schedule, the Oxford Artisan Distillery worked best, and I’m so glad it did. It’s one of the few distillers anywhere to make gin every step of way from planting the grain through adding the botanicals; we learned so much about their sustainable practices and first rate products. If you’re interested in biodiversity and the environment you’ll love this visit. Gin isn’t even their primary product. They produce vodka (2x winner of world’s best vodka) and whiskey as well - whiskey is their primary product but you’ll learn why they also produce gin and vodka when you visit. Our host Sarah was terrific - knowledgeable and engaging. Our visit included a gin and tonic plus tastings of one vodka, two gins and two whiskeys. It’s an easy bus ride + short walk from Oxford City Centre for those of us who haven’t rented a car. Loved the visit!
- GrandTour0000877245800Whiskey TourReally enjoyed our whiskey tour. Carmen really knew her stuff and was very enthusiastic. The history of the distillery was very interesting and very different to the more commercial tours in the bigger distilleries. And the whiskey tasted great too!
- E2566QTcaitlins00Amazing timeTried the best vodka I’ve ever had! Such a nice atmosphere and beautiful grounds. Richard and Carmen were the best hosts and made us feel so comfortable!
- N2656XAalexh00Excellent Distillery TourWe had an excellent tour. Sarah was a great distillery guide, giving us a thorough history of the distillery whilst making the tour fun and interesting. Would highly recommend.
- GavinDBishop00Superb Tour and tastingJust did the Whiskey tour with Richard - absolutely fascinating!. Added bonus was a plethora of really delicious, original tasting whiskeys.
- 32maxw00Great fun and great tasting sessionA great tour and so informative, learned a lot about the grain side of things as well as some history and distilling. Mitchell pitched it at a great level and did great on the tour. Would recommend to anyone!
- deniskie00Sat aft fun! Go!Highly recommended! Our tour guide was a great host, v funny and superb storyteller (my memory is somewhat hazy for whatever reason but I believe his name was Mike). We learnt a lot about their processes as well as history from the area.
- Sarah F00Fantastic tour and informationGreat tour. We have done quite a few gin distillery tours over the years but this was so good. The information regarding rye and farming etc was totally eye opening and really interesting. Gins tasted great too. Thoroughly recommend.
- jane b00Great ExperienceDid this tour with friends on Saturday 11th February Young lady who was giving us the history of the Distillery made it so interesting very informative. Not at all dull they are so passionate about the work they are doing Making a product to be proud of They deserve to be successful Tasters are not to be missed best to have a designated driver This was part of a very enjoyable Christmas present Would highly recommend this tour
- Michael K00Fascinating explanation of distilling with local rye and generous tastingWe were given a distillery tour for two as a gift. As it happened (it was a wet January day) we were the only people on the tour, housed in an old barn, so had personal attention! The guide explained the concept behind the enterprise, which is based on research into crop history by examining the underlying straw on timbered roofs. The base layer will often have been there since pre-Agricultural Revolution times and therefore give an indication of the type of grain that was grown then. A field has been planted with rye of this type and it is allowed to grow naturally. The product is then distilled in one of the specially-built stills here and can subsequently be processed in different ways to yield gin, whisky or vodka. The ethos is very much working with nature in a traditional way and the explanation was most interesting. We were given generous tasters of several of the different gins produced by the distillery, which acquire their different tastes according to which botanicals are added (from the university's Botanical Gardens). The distillery is still experimenting with the whisky to find the most acceptable product. Important tip; don't drive here! The amount of gin we were given (or could have consumed had we been greedy) was greater than the amount of wine you get on most wine tastings! Very good value, then.
- Giubs8800Independent distillery doing things a little differentlyReally interesting as different to most distilleries, particularly how they are farming, and the different drinks they are making. I was the only person on the tour which I kind of liked but sure it would be good even with a group. My guide Carmen was really knowledgeable about all the aspects of the distillery and all the farming behind it which really makes this distillery stand out
- Kaka-097200AmazingReally enjoyed the tour, carmen was very informative and funny, thoroughly good experience all round And the gin is exceptional

The place itself is really nice, staff are friendly and my partner said the drink they produce is delicious.
However, they don't cater for the designated driver so make sure you get the bus or train. We had to drive as we were staying a fair distance away. On the other 2 distillery tours we've done elsewhere they've substituted the tasting for a mini 5cl bottle to take home. I asked on arrival but they declined, even though they sell them in the shop for only £6 or so. They even said 'we have to put the drinks in front of you' even though I just told them I was driving home, which isn't particularly professional or safe...
The tour guide was lovely, but could've done with being a bit more knowledgeable about the distilling process. She said a few times 'the distillers have told me, but I don't understand fully'. Would've been better for one of the actual distillers to give the tour as they know the process inside out.

Mitchell gave a really engaging and informative tour. We were really impressed by how knowledgeable he was and how he could keep us all captivated while we sat and tried the various gins and vodka. I really enjoyed learning about the heritage grain and the uniqueness of this distillery. Would definitely recommend others to do the tour - it was the best value compared to others we’ve done and one of our favourites.

Was a little nervous upon arrival as it's a really small operation, but inside it is suprisingly grand. Our tour guide Edward was incredibly funny and it was refreshing to hear an honest history of the products being produced there as opposed to simply hyping up their own brand. All the staff were welcoming and the selection of samples was incredibly generous.
The bar area is inviting and whilst the distillery itself isn't some vast expanse, there were enough stories to keep you engaged and enthralled. Fabulously heartwarming little operation undertaken by passionate people with a real community feel. I wish you all the success in the world.
There is a shop at the end but there is no pressure to buy. I felt guilty that I only walked away purchasing 1 item, Everything we tried was delicious, I'm just a fussy bugger.
Not sure I should have driven home though :) - Brilliant Experience!

Such a great experience.. amazing setting at top of park.. lovely tables outside.. beautiful old building and great cocktails! But what really made this special was the tour.. Leslie was a great entertainer but also so good at getting across how the distillery is really one of a kind and focusing on the whole production process from growing their heritage grains to playing with all the aromatics and flavours to create unique spirits. And Chico the distiller was such a character and clearly loves his art. On top of that they kept the drinks flowing and it all made a really special afternoon. Thank you!

Fantastic Artisan Distillery just a short walk from the centre of Oxford. We were greeted with a warm smile and a delicious Gin and Tonic on arrival for our gin tour.
Very friendly staff and so informative and passionate about their products. 5 samples of their great products and a tour of where they make their products straight from their own grain made this also great value for money. Staff also went out of there way to send items left after the tour straight to my home address. Thank you so much. We will be back

Amazing tour by very knowledgeable tour guide explaining the history of the distillery and their gins, whiskey's and vodka. Plenty of samples were provided and such a cool quirky little distillery.
The location is just outside Oxford with a great outdoor area and next to a large park - the perfect spot for an evening tour and then a sunset drink! All the staff are super friendly, clearly enjoyed working there and create a great atmosphere in a renovated old British farm. Can highly recommend visiting!

This is a unique distillery; a chance to get close to the old copper distillation cylinders and towers, beautifully engineered and crafted from copper and many huge old wooden barrels stored in the barn.
The tour was great fun, most informative and some of us sampled all the different alcohols (mellow rye whisky, botanical gins and fragrant vodka etc) with non-alcoholic refreshments also on offer.
Most impressive was the story behind the grains of rye which have been lovingly retrieved from our ancient heritage over many years by a dedicated archeo-biologist who oversees the natural scattering, growing and harvesting of these rare grains of rye, ready for the distillation process. They are all carefully grown by local farmers; a far cry from the genetically modified monoculture typical of our times.
There’s a lot to take in and I can’t wait to go back!

My partner and I, attended the Gin Tour at 4:30pm on Saturday 12 March...I am absolutely useless at remembering names but the lady and gentleman that ran the tour for us were absolutely fantastic. So knowledgable, interesting and engaging they held our attention the whole time! Was really interesting to see how this small but mighty distillery made their gin and it's history.
We inevitably bought a bottle of our favourites, the Physic Gin and the Rye.
We would thoroughly recommend a visit here, and to top it off it is fantastic value for money. 5*!

Me and my wife visited yesterday as part of her 30th birthday trip to Oxford. I would 100% recommend giving this place a look. The staff are great, the drinks are great and the tour is great! My man Stephen was not only a top tour guide but also clearly knew everything there is to know about distilling. He’s happy to answer any questions and even let us climb up onto some of the equipment to have a closer look ‘just as long as we didn’t fall in and die’.
Even if you’re not into your booze, you’ll still find this tour really interesting.

We had anticipated a tour of explanation of the process of making whisky, gin and vodka but it was far more than this. It was a discovery of amazing research into grain through the ages with prospects for the environment and enormous creativity by the distillers themselves. It was fascinating to meet the amazing John and we were particularly impressed by Sarah who gave the most illuminating talk and who was knowledgeable, articulate and great fun. We would like to thank everyone who gave us a great day

A reviewer mentioned being picked up at the Oxford Information Center, but the description does not mention that. Does the booking include pick up/drop off a the Information Center or do you have to find your own way to TOAD? If it is included, how do you arrange that?
