Overview

History buffs—particularly those short on time—should look no further than this Oxford walking tour, which offers a comprehensive overview of the historic city. Peek inside ancient colleges, admire the Bodleian Library, learn where famous writers like Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien studied, and more. The tour-group size is limited for a more intimate experience, and it includes a discount card for local shops and restaurants.

What to Expect
Greet your guide and small group in central Oxford. You’ll listen to tales of Oxford history and student life as you walk. Note that the exact itinerary may vary depending on your group’s interests and the time of year.

Pass Oxford city center sights including the Bodleian Library, the Sheldonian Theatre, and Christ Church, a Harry Potter film location, and peek inside one or two colleges—New College (founded 1379), Exeter College (founded 1314), or St. John’s College (founded 1555).

After your tour, carry on exploring with an ILoveOxford map and a discount card valid in select shops and restaurants.

Great tour

A really informative and entertaining walking tour, which was most enjoyable despite frequent heavy storms. Our guide Peter was a student himself, was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour.
