- U5836XKbrians0 contributionsFive Stars IndeedThe Soho Music and Pub Tour was terrific on a number of levels. Calum, our guode was first class. He was knowledgeable, interesting, humorous, and fun. There were just four of us on the tour who just also happened to be knowledgeable, interesting, humorous, and fun too. By the end we were friends. This camaraderie was secured by the enjoyment of 'chewin' the fat' around beers in old atmospheric pubs and sharing tales. Calum was a skilled facilitator and we all were 'mates' for the afternoon. Thank you Calum for a fabulous tour, five stars indeed, and thanks to Michel and Will, our American chums, for a memorable few hours in London Town. Good luck Calum and thank youWritten February 7, 2025

The skills of our guide Calum as an actor, impersonator and entertainer are worth the tour alone. And, of course, it is an inexhaustible source of exciting, funny and surprising stories about the rock musicians of the 1960s to the 1990s, the pubs where they blew up toilets, the venues where they destroyed borrowed instruments, places where they slept, composed and texted their high and so on. And then Denmark Street! At maybe a hundred meters, about seven guitar shops with the most insane vintage guitars for 30,000 pounds!
For any fan of classical rock music, this tour in London is an absolute must. If you don't book them, it's your own fault.

This tour went above and beyond what we were expecting! Jack’s passion and excitement about British rock & roll is infectious, and his amazing knowledge about its history makes him an amazing tour-guide. Even if you do not particularly enjoy British rock, I would highly recommend this tour. You will find yourself laughing and gasping at the many stories and pieces of history and rock heritage in Soho. By the end of this tour you will find yourself walking around London with the Who and the Beatles jamming in your earphones.

A Rocking Good Time!!!
I was traveling with my two boys 20 and 21 for a graduation trip. Our goal was to see Musicals and the sights. Both of my kids are big into music and thought we’d find a British Rock and Roll Tour. Calum our tour guide greeted us with his British umbrella and got to know our group of 14 quite quickly. He’s a former aspiring musician - but he does play a mean air guitar. His wit, stories, energy and impressions were what brought the tour alive and would make me recommend this tour to anyone visiting London. If you’re a fan of rock and roll, guitars, keyboard, rhythms, distortion, and more you’ll get a chance to visit the locations where David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, The Beatles, The Kinks, Elton John, Pete Townsend, the WHO and so much more recorded, performed and had too much to drink. Calum is the conductor of a great experience.

The Rock’n Roll tour in the Soho area on Dec. 23 guided by Jack McGill was a fantastic experience. It was a good 2 hours walk and Jack overwhelmed me and the rest of the group with his imence knowledge about the great musicians, the places they had lived and been at in the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s. Jack captured his audience with funny stories as well as some fine anecdotes.
I highly recommend his walks.

Al was amazing! He had such high energy and everyone was engaged for the entire tour. I took my mum visiting me in London and I am from the UK but the rest of the group were visiting the UK; Alan was great at ensuring they all understood the stories. Great facts and stories but an even better story teller!
The tour itself was so fun, even if you don’t know a lot or aren’t that into rocknroll everyone had a fab time. You get to learn a bit about London also and it’s a good way to get your bearings around the west end if you’re visiting.
Definitely go on this tour if you are considering it, it is worth the price and this is a very fair price for what you get!
Thanks again Alan!

Pure joy! This walk was definitely worth the price, didn't lag once & will tick all of the music genre boxes - whether you're a fan of Rock, Pop, Soul, Punk or Metal.
Jack (our 'frontman'!) was a legend & very engaged with us. He communicated clearly to a group which consisted of people from around the world & he had a wealth of knowledge. From the moment we gathered & was greeted, he gave us a warm & inviting performance that had everyone eating out of his hands from start to finish.
This is a wonderful group trip around London which gives you a remarkable insight into how our nation created some of the most famous artistes, groups, venues & even instruments in the world.
Well done, Jack. We'll definitely come back with other friends & family to 'Rock' again, Dude...!

This is one of the best tours I’ve ever taken - about two hours, with a fantastic guide (Alan) who not only knew his stuff, but also loves his job and makes every minute count. We saw Denmark Street, where Jimi Hendrix, Queen, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Badfinger, Elton John and others recorded music, and where the first Marshall amp was sold. Around the corner, we saw David Bowie’s studio and a little farther, Paul McCartney’s offices. All along the way, Alan provided great stories, and made us all recall great memories from the 60’s and 70’s (and even much earlier - we saw where Mozart stayed during his London tour at the age of eight!). The coolest part was at the end, where we stopped at 3 Saville Row, a building on the roof of which the Beatles had their last public performance and recorded the “Let It Be” album. Having seen Peter Jackson’s remarkable three-part documentary, “Get Back”, I just loved actually being there. An absolute treat! Abbey Road is not part of the tour, and I thought I might miss that - nope (by the way, seeing that one place would have added another hour and a half to the tour). I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves music.

"The Great British Rock and Roll Music Walking Tour" With Experience Local Tours. I had before I booked this walking Tour checked the rates. about 4,7 I think.
The tour is an amazing two-hour tour with Danny Boy. We had high expectations because the Rock and Roll started when we were young and have followed the 60 / 70 ties quite closely. So we have a fair knowledge of this period.
Our guide, Danny Boy; had thoroughly done his homework. We were very impressed by his knowledge. enthusiasm, and passion for the beginning of the Rock and Roll Period. His storytelling also mixed with a good sense of humor and also important to us non-native speakers of English that Danny's English was very clear and easy to understand. In all terms, we therefore highly recommend this walking tour with Danny Boy from Experienced Local Tours. Next time I go to London I will check up on "Experience Local Tours" 5*****.
