- Kevin P0 contributionsLondon Night TourWonderful experience on a London Night Photo Tour with Rose. Very knowledgeable and a great teacher as well. Highly recommended!Written November 21, 2023
- stephensS2060YB0 contributionsLondon Night time photography tourIt was a fascinating tour of London at night, with Andrei giving us wonderful tips on photography at night. It was a very cold evening, but the three hours we spent with him were well worth putting up with the cold. Learning better ways to set the camera was eye opening for us, being only casual photographers. Another plus for us was that the wide angle lens on the camera stopped working properly, so Andrei was able to use his lens on the camera so we could continue to take pictures. We would recommend the tour to others!Written March 9, 2020
- NabobInAtlanta0 contributionsSomething for a Rainy NightAlthough the weather was uncooperative, opportunities were presented for unplanned approaches. Andrei was great with providing tips for honing in on manual mode adjustments. The subject locations were awesome rendering great photos. I would highly recommend Aperture Tours to visitors.Written January 1, 2020
- SteveCrockers0 contributionsExcellent tour & guide, very inspiring, learned a lot.Vianney was absolutely fantastic. We are both seasoned photographers and were not sure what to expect as we have not taken night scenes before. However Vianney blew us away with his enthusiasm, passion, experience & creativity. He got us to think in ways we would never have considered and taught us amazing new ways of looking at things. The tour was three hours of fun and learning. We covered quite a few of London’s highlights and took a wide range of photographs, from the classic postcard shots to more creative images. This tour is highly recommended, it’s also really good value for 2 or 3 people. If you are lucky enough to have Vianney as your guide, even better, he is such a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and experience photographerWritten October 25, 2019
- GR1NZ0 contributionsHighly RecommndedThis "tour" delivered much more than I expected. With only a few days in Lonaon I booked this tour to more easily get some night shots in the city. While this was achieved to my absolute satisfaction I gained much more from the tour. I was extremely impressed by the experience of my guide. Extemley knowlegeable about photography and very familiar with the locations. More importantly though was the fact that my guide in the first few minutes of our meeting quickly determined what I wanted to achieve, but even more importantly, accurately assessed my experience and skill level and tailored the evening to suit. As a result it was a very enjoyable and informative time. I finished the evening absolutely totally satisfied with the experience I understood my camera to the extent that I was quite comfortable with all the important settings but I had never shot in manual mode very often. By the end of the evening I felt completely confident to shoot in manual mode and for the remaining two weeks of my tour I was so pleased with the techniques that I learnt .. it significantly improved my photography But the most impressive aspect of the tour was that as we talked about photography during the evening it was evident that the skills of my guide were such that it woudnt matter wether you were a novice or highly experienced you would be guaranteed a great tour because the guides can respond to your requirements. I cant give a strong enough recommendation. The only very small negative was that I booked a tripod to be supplied because I needed to travel light and the tripod wasnt really up to the windy conditions, but given the learnings I obtained from the evening this was inconsequentialWritten September 23, 2019
- Mariskaaa0 contributionsLondon Photography TourThanks Vianney for giving me a great photography tour of London! I learned quite a bit and hopefully I can use what you told me to take better pictures during my trip and thereafter. I’ll be looking for the light, looking for alternate angles and positions, and just having fun with my camera. Practice, practice, practice!Written September 22, 2019
- 883liz0 contributionsFabulous Night for PhotographyThis was my second Aperture Tour. I booked for myself as I was a solo traveler on business. But I found a colleague who was also interested in photography and we both met up with Scott. He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and took an interest in where we both were in our photographic journey. Since we were more interested in learning about night photography than shooting in many locations, he selected sites where we could practice night photography. We not only got terrific shooting opportunities but a way of seeing and thinking about images that will serve us well in the future.Written July 31, 2019
- TravelCuriosity43210 contributionsAwesome experienceI took this night tour with my college-age son. My wife tagged along and made sure we didn't lose any of our equipment. I've been taking mostly family sports photography for a few years and just started trying to get into night photography. My son's prior experience consisted of a 3 month on-line intro course. Vianney was our instructor and he was great. He has incredible experience and is very patient. These are really one-on-one tours since it is just your party and the photographer so it was an excellent learning experience. We learned to use our DSLR cameras in Manual mode (I was terrified of this mode prior to this tour) and Vianney also helped us with our composition. The icing on the cake on these night tours is the fact that you get to explore a city by night which is something that is hard to see if you don't know a city well. Notes on equipment: - Make sure to bring a DSLR camera even if it is an entry model (as long as it has Manual mode). - Camera remote if you have one as it helps avoid camera shake on long exposures - Camera lens shield to avoid unwanted light reflections - Make sure your lens glass is VERY clean. It would be best to remove your uv/protector if you have one as it degrades the quality of your night photos. Any kind of dust or smudges on your lens will be very noticeable on your photos - Plenty of space in your memory card(s): If you shoot in RAW instead of JPEG mode, then you will have more options to edit your pictures with a photo editing software when you get home. RAW, however, takes more space in your card so make sure you have lots of space available - Tripod: If you have a very portable tripod, then bring it. Otherwise you can rent one through Aperture Tours. Finally, make sure you are well rested before the tour as you will be doing a lot of walking but it will definitely be worth it. There will not be any wash rooms at that time either so plan accordingly.Written June 15, 2019
- Pinacolada40 contributions"London Nightscape with Andrei"I booked a photo tour with Aperture Tours for a family trip to London. Even though I was the one interested in the tour, my spouse was allowed to accompany me and assist me with the tripod and equipment. The weather was excellent. Andrei, the photo tour guide could not have been better. Courteous, friendly, speaks more than one language, knows his city, is a skillful photographer and a patient teacher. I highly recommend this photo tour with this company. They take care to find out before your trip your personal photo interests and skill levels and are very accommodating.Written June 6, 2019
- TimH6150 contributionsA Great ExperienceIf you are hesitant to book this tour because of the price, let me put your mind at ease. I almost didn't book mine for that very reason, but I'm so glad I did. A friend of mine and I took a night tour with Vianney and we couldn't have been happier with it. Even though we have different experience levels, Vianney was able to tailor the tour so that both of us got a lot out of it. This wasn't a "stand here, set the camera like so, click, next" photography tour (although I'm sure he can do that if that's what you're looking for). On the contrary, we were encouraged to engage our minds, thinking about the composition, experimenting with positioning and adapting camera settings, trying to tell a story. In each location, this was followed by thoughtful critique of our shots, followed by more experimentation. We were so inspired from this tour that the very next night we went out on our own and spent several more hours shooting, applying the techniques and thought processes that we learned the previous night.Written May 12, 2019
- Pennington20190 contributionsA joy, excellent, customized, accomodatingVianney's excitement with his professional career shown through his discussions. He pushed me to try new things, and reinforced some lessons I knew, but neglected. He provided great perspective and direction. The tour was very specifically customized to my interestes and questions, as we went. It was enjoyable to walk around with someome as personable and devoted to photography as he is.Written April 18, 2019
- amightyquin19630 contributionsExcellent; absorbing fun and informative. Highly recommendedI chose the day/night tour with Vienny. He is an excellent guide and teacher; really passionate about photography and very knowledgable. And of course he knows London really well too. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in improving their photography skills and seeing London’s iconic sights at the same time. Really good and I hope I can repeat.Written April 6, 2019
- Rebecca O0 contributionsLondon / Paris VacationWe booked this tour for our 17 year old granddaughter. It was her favorite part of our London/Paris vacation. The guide Vianney gave her one-on-one instruction and provided excellent advice on her camera and photography techniques! I'm so glad we scheduled this early in the trip, because she took great photos for the remainder of our time in Europe. After this experience, she wanted to book the same tour for Paris, but sadly, it was booked out. Definitely worth the time and money!Written December 5, 2018
- imchas0 contributionsNight PhotographyI would highly recommend booking a night photography tour with Aperture Tours. My photographer Andrei was quite knowledgeable and friendly. We spent a few hours taking shots of London's night lights from the other side of the Thames, I got some great shots of the Millennium Bridge,St. Paul's, London Bridge,Tower Bridge and the London Eye. Afterwards I invited our photographer Andrei to join us for cocktails, which afforded us time to get to know Andrei and a little bit of his background, which was quite interesting. Thank You: AndreiWritten November 8, 2018
- Lisa W0 contributionsA night walk in LondonI had night photo walk with tour guide Vianney. This was a great way to get to see London and learn about my camera. Vianney worked with the camera to get the lighting right and had some great ideas about angles for fun photos. It started lightly rain but it didn't impact the tour at al. This tour was really fund and I'm really happy with the photos I have!Written September 13, 2018

We had a fantastic tour with Derrick! He crammed so many sites into two hours we could barely keep up!! Derrick took us to places that we would have never found. He is a wonderful coach reviewing pictures as we took them. This was my second Aperture tour. I highly recommend them to any photographer that is traveling to a city and does not want to commit to a multi-day tour. I will be using them in other cities. Thank-you

The photography tour was a birthday present for our son Adrian who had just turned 17. He is really the "amateur expert" among us and he loved the tour with Rose. Dear Rose, thank you so much for your professionalism, your creativity and your charisma. You even managed to make the most out of some rainy spells. Our son does not often start freely talking after knowing someone just for a couple of minutes (and English is still a foreign language for him). So - thank you so much on his behalf and from us as his parents!

I travel to London yearly for work and over the years felt I have captured all the major sites. This year I thought I would try and go beyond the usual tourist areas and work on location and elements to level up my shots. I searched around I found Aperture Tours which seems it would fit the bill. I booked a night tour with Rose, and it was an excellent experience! Rose considered the work I have done before and suggested locations and views that stretched my creative bounds. I am very happy with what I was able to capture and look forward to another tour when I am back next year! Highly recommended!!

I had the pleasure of the company of the lovely Noemi for my night photography tour. I have some knowledge of photographic techniques but have never successfully tried long exposure shots at night. With Noemi's expert help I learnt what effect different ISO settings, f numbers and exposure times have on the outcome of a photo. With the reminders I should be confident in capturing fantastic night time photos.
Thank you and thank Noemi for my tour.
