- V4574MLjessicah0 contributionsHop on/Hop off LondonWe loved this tour, saw a lot of London that we wouldn't have seen if we had just taken the Underground and stopped at specific places. Our guide, Emma, was amazing. She shared history of the different areas we saw in London, not just the buildings but the streets and how they got their name. She shared so much information about the sites, she was funny and friendly. We were sitting on the top and in the front seat so she would talk to us. For part of the tour, it was just us and an older couple so we all chatted with Emma. She was just amazing. We also did the boat tour and it was great, highly recommend.Written October 9, 2024
- DayTrip451787993950 contributionsGreat tour, excellent guidesWe were in a group of six, wanting to hit the highlights of Windsor, Stonehenge, and Bath. This is the perfect tour to do that! It's a long day buy with enough downtime in between the sites. Peter Rabbit was fantastic - interesting historical information, funny stories, accommodating when possible. He and James, the driver, made an excellent team. Highly recommend.Written October 8, 2024

Do NOT use Golden Tours. They cancelled out tour to Windsor and Hampton Court two days before it was scheduled to occur. They offered to rebook us to just Windsor and we did that. They were horrible - so sorry we did it.
1. They provided no tour services. All we got was a (comfortable) bus ride to Windsor and an entry ticket. There was no guide at any point and no explanations in the bus other than promo pieces. They also charged 20+ pounds more that it would have cost to do this on our own. The word TOUR in their name is a misnomer.
2. When we arrived (late) at Windsor, they did not have a voucher for us to enter. It took the driver 25 minutes to show up with it before the group could enter. We were already late and as it was late afternoon our time in the castle was cut short.
3. They made no mention in their literature of dropping us at a different point than pickup, but that's what happened. We had to spend another 15 pounds to get back to where we started.
I communicated dated my displeasure to them and a week later have still gotten no response. I can only conclude that this is how they do business and would certainly warn potential customers to look for a different company if they want a legitimate tour.

This was a terrible experience. The Hampton Court part was canceled without prior notification from the company. I did not find this out until I arrived at the bus station the morning of the tour. At the station I was told to come back at 1245 for the Windsor Castle portion. I did and still waited an hour before departure. We arrived at Windsor Castle at 1530. The Castle grounds close at 5p.m. The tour was supposed to be professionally guided but no guide was provided. We were merely dropped off and left to wander the grounds by ourselves, trying to figure out where to go and what was what. I could have accomplished this on my own without paying for the cost of a tour. I suggest booking with another company as golden tours did not provide the services they charged for.

We had Mark as our guide and Kieran as our driver. We were a bit confused about the exact starting place but found our way. Fortunately there were Golden Tours people around to help sort it out for us. The tour was quite good as Mark ‘s commentary along the way was helpful and entertaining. Hampton Court is astonishing. Going there was a huge bucket list item for my wife who has always been very interested in the Tudor dynasty. I like it that Mark and the local guide sets the stage and then turns the group lose to explore at their own pace. Unfortunately that allowed my wife to take too long in certain areas and we had to rush through or miss others. Hardly your fault but it would have been nice to have had another hour at Hampton Court.
Windsor Castle was equally impressive. Again, Mark set the stage and turned us lose. I appreciate that approach. I had forgotten about the fire there so seeing how painstakingly they recreated the destroyed areas was fascinating.
There is more good commentary on the return trip. In all this is a good value and well worth the time.

Hampton Court and Windsor from London was a great day. It wasn't too long or too rushed at either stop, with plenty of time to look around, enjoy the audio tour, and get any meals or snacks we wanted while there. This tour made it easy to add the experiences of Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle to our stay in London.
Our tour guide, Danxia, told us about each stop on the bus before we arrived so that when we got there, we knew what we were seeing. She gave us tips to best enjoy each place and even personally helped each of us with our plans for the rest of our day once we returned to London. She was delightful, as was our driver, Paolo. Highly recommend this tour!

Guide Kish and driver Koli were both excellent in their respective jobs. Kish was a non stop font of info on London neighborhoods we traveled through enroute, the history of both stops and their resident royals, and was very conscientious about keeping us on time and affording us adequate time to explore the sites with the free time we were allotted. Great itinerary and great job!

A very nice day tour with lots of history and culture to be enjoyed. Our group was very mixed from kids to seniors. I think everyone enjoyed it. Our guide Tish was great at giving us extra time, when the traffic allowed for it. She gave a running commentary of what we were seeing on the bus and telling us what to expect at our destinations. She was very generous at answering questions.
I think these two venues are very well matched, both Royal Palaces, still being used.
You have to decide what you want to see and experience at Hampton Court (or rush). There is so much.
You have plenty of tome at Windsor to both see the sights and get a taste of the lovely village.
Our coach driver did a great job of getting us to our destinations and then some. Coming back to London, it would have been an extra hour to get back to Victoria station, so he made multiple stops to get everyone home. Most, like us unded up having a shorter trip «home» than if we had followed the route.

Absolutely stunning views, a lovely adventure, and an overall fantastic time! Morton was an incredible tour guide with plenty of knowledge of the area and surrounding neighborhoods. Jim was a fantastic driver and got us to each destination very quickly whilst not passing up some historical places on the way!

Loved it all. So glad we got to see both Windsor Castle and Hampton Court in one day. The tour guide had lots of energy and shared a lot of interesting historical facts with us. She gave us hints on what to see and when to see them (ie visit the chapel before going into the castle). This really helped make sure we saw as much as possible.

Our Tour guide Ari was fantastic as well as the drive not sure of his name. Fantastic.. Ari knew so much she also gave us info along the way about places and monuments with suggestions.
Hampton Court Palace was amazing. Get the audio guide it helps you learn the stuff too! Windsor was a cool village and area with Castle and shops. Pay attention to where the bus is, you can get confused.

My Mum and I loved this tour! Tish was absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable. Tish shared so much history on Hampton Court and Windsor Castle and made sure our trip went smoothly. We met some lovely people on the coach too. It was one of our favourite trips and we'd definitely recommend it and will be going again in the future. Thank you!
