I was absolutely bowled over by how good this course was. I have been to the British Museum before but this brought the whole thing alive for me. Rossa's knowledge and Attenborough-style delivery was worthy of any film or TV documentary and I would recommend this to anyone who has even a passing interest in archaeology or related subjects.

The agenda for the course and Rossa's engaging way of delivering his deep knowledge meant that the context and background of key exhibits at the museum almost brought them alive. I wish I'd had teachers like him at school.

We enjoyed this wonderful tour led by Rossa..Rossa has an amazing knowledge of history and archealogy and the way he connects the dots from early hominids to indus valley to assyrian, roman, anglosaxon, greece history is really amazing . His knowledge and the way he has structured this tour is wonderful and won't leave you bored even for a minute. It says a lot if he can hold the attention of my 8 y o for 6 hrs. There was a long queue for the entry but Rossa didn't take any shortcuts and he carried on with the tour beyond its scheduled finish time . An absoluteky worthwhile experience and waiting for another interesting tour from Rossa

This was so good. I can't remember the guide's name (many many apologies) but he was a Dubliner and is an archaeologist.
The session was really well researched and we learned so much, much more than we expected -the archaeology insights were brilliant and great entertainment.
Our guide was able to adapt the tour around what was happening that day in the museum. He was really knowledgeable and was able to answer all sorts of random questions we threw at him.
Lots of favourite moments but the game of Ur was a definite highlight.

Great walk with explanations through the British museum. I have learned an awful lot. The tour is highly to recommend for everyone who ones to get an overview over the history of mankind by a sample of the exhibitions of the British museum. The tour was kind of unique.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour - it surpassed all of my expectations. Rossa quite literally brought history to life through his passionate and very deep knowledge of our past. He took the time to answer all of our groups individual questions with great depth and accuracy. This tour is an absolute must for anyone interested in learning about our ancient past. We even got to try our hand at the earliest known board game - see photo. Thank you Rossa!

Our guide Rossa, was excellent. His knowledge amazing. The tour was very well organised with a clear route through the archaeological time line. Rossa shared additional images and information held on his tablet to help build a clearer picture of the people and sites being discussed. My 16 year old daughter was interested throughout the tour and asked lots of questions, which Rossa was able to answer. Altogether a very interesting and enjoyable tour.

Rossa is an expert on archeology. He's a clear communicator and story-teller. This tour is rather more deep than broad, in that it selects exhibits to explore themes in archeology and history, rather than trying to cover a wide range of subjects. Very insightful, and equips you with the concepts to fruitfully explore the vast collection of the British Museum. Recommended.

Absolutely excellent guide - I can't remember the last time (if ever) that I left a review for something, I'm usually too lazy after the fact (guilty as charged), but I felt Rossa deserved a shout-out. As a massive history nerd, his presentation of historical epochs and civilisations on display at the museum was absolutely astonishing. I learnt a lot, and he had myriad interesting anecdotes to share and was clearly very educated on the subject. Can wholeheartedly recommend, it makes the museum 1000% more interesting.

Rossa, if you read this, please organise a tour of the other parts of the museum! I would love a tour from you on China / Japan / Korea, Rome, the Americas, Africa, etc.

Tour guide was Ace. Very knowledgeable and well read, and gave you such brilliant nuggets of information in both the process of archeology and the history of civilization - taking you on a highlight tour of this amazing museum. Because his knowledge base is so big, he often needed to rely on his iPad to reference some of the subject matter he spoke of - And the only drawback I found with that was he didn't tell his story from the content of the museum as much.

Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure meeting you both. I don't actually use my iPad to refer to notes, I only use it to display slides. It's true that mine isn't a traditional tour where I explain every object in depth because it is a course in understanding archaeology and I tend use the objects in the museum as a jumping off point to talk about some aspect of archaeology or the history of civilisation.

I was incredibly lucky to catch a short snippet of this tour. I heard about the Easter Island Head that is at the British Museum and the fascinating description of how research archaeologists think that they were initially moved around the island.
The guide was incredibly clearly spoken, interesting, and engaging.
I wish only that I'd had time to hear the entire tour.
