About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- mikenC8117DO0 contributionsNice ExperienceSheena arranged a great walk to see the city center’s architecture and public art installations. It was interesting to hear her perspective as a recent immigrant of Oslo and Norway culture and customs.Written September 19, 2024
- Cristian M0 contributionsCool GuideBecky was my tour guide for about 5hs She was excellent, very nice and had an excellent knowledge on the city. We used public transportation which made it very nice and comfortable to go around the city. I had just come off an 8hr overnight flight and this tour kept me awake during my layover. We went walking around mostly Over west London, visiting Covent Garden, Opeea Theatre, London Bridge, The Borough Market, Sky Gardne among others She left me right on time at 5PM in Paddington to catch my train to Heathrow AirportWritten September 15, 2024
- D7075UNjimc0 contributionsOutstanding Private Foodie Tour of London ChinatownDarryl was a charming and outstanding guide for our initial foray into London Chinatown. The food at each stop was outstanding and even included Peking Duck at Four Seasons Garrard Street, which I had hoped we might visit. In between stops, we learned a lot about Chinatown and the adjacent Soho area. Also, Darryl shared with me some insights into how to hone my photographic skills. It was an evening very well spent and a highlight of our London holiday, which was a 65th birthday present for my missus. We highly recommend both Darryl and the City Unscripted Wok’n’Roll tour. Cheers!Written September 1, 2024

- 989brentl0 contributionsWe a a truly delightful day with Dalia. She is highly knowledgeable of the London area, in particular the city historyDelis was FANTASTIC. Her knowledge of the city and city history is exceptional. Just what we were looking for. Highly recommended, ask for her specifically. She gave us some excellent advice for places that are “out of the ordinary” on other days during our trip. Great communication before our visit made the difference. Southwark Cathedral and market, Churchill War Rooms, Benjamin Franklin House, and Westminster Abbey are highlights.Written August 19, 2024
- O5082GDbeng0 contributionsA well tailored tourWe had the pleasure of being guided around Toronto by James Wood. He had an excellent knowledge of the city and had taken into account our families preferences and hobbies to show sites that were exciting to us. These included seeing the dog fountain for my young daughter and the Jewish quarter for the speciality shops which my wife loved - we also visited markets and lovely parks during our tour. It was a great way to start our holidayWritten August 16, 2024

- lesleypC6728MN0 contributionsMust See Walking Tour of VancouverWe were only in Vancouver for 2 days and were lucky enough to have Kim as our guide. Kim was born in Vancouver and knows the city very well. In fact, her father is an architect in Vancouver which gave Kim special insight and she was able to point out some very interesting buildings and secret spots that other guides may not know about. Kim was so fun to be with and it felt like we were out for the day with a friend. We told Kim what we wanted to see if the short 3 hours and she was able to fit everything in. We took the underground, a boat and walked around the city. Kim has great knowledge and was such a great tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour and Kim as your guide!!Written July 13, 2024

I booked a "London Literary Tour with a Local Expert: Private & Personalized" tour, because I had never been to London before, and because I teach Charles Dickens and Virginia Woolf at the college level, and I am passionate about their work.
Our tour guide was kind and personable, but unfortunately many of her facts were false, and she did not seem to know the city of London well. For example, she walked us to an apartment and said Virginia Woolf had killed herself inside it— when in fact Virginia Woolf died in a river in the country.
Our guide then walked us 20 minutes to a bookstore that, it turns out, no longer exists (I would have expected someone leading a tour and walking us 20 minutes in that direction would have double-checked in advance that the store she wanted to show us was still there).
When I mentioned that Charles Dickens had lived on Tavistock Square, our tour guide insisted that he had not. (He had—we found a blue plaque saying so later.)
I could go on...
Then, at the end of our tour, she advised us to take the Underground back to our hotel, and when we told her we would prefer to walk, she informed us that if we chose to walk, it would take us an hour and a half; in fact our hotel was ten minutes away on foot, as we found out ourselves.
Having spent $290.00 for this "London Literary Tour with a Local Expert," I expected an expert in literature, or better preparation. It turns out, our guide's expertise was in business administration and economics, not literature. And her local knowledge was not strong. I regret paying so much for inaccurate and misleading information, and would not recommend this to my friends.
