    Tower of London
Stop: 60 minutes - Admission included
Your tour will begin just in front of the main entrance, where you will be given a short introduction to the history of the Tower of London before being led in to meet the Beefeater dedicated to your small group. From stories of traitorous plots to tales of royal scandal, the guards of the Tower of London will bring this attraction to life before your eyes. Your small group will also enable you plenty of chances to ask questions and interact directly with the Beefeater as they lead you through this ancient fortress. After your tour, continue to discover the Tower at your leisure including a visit to the infamous Bloody Tower, a tour of the old Royal Mint, or a visit to the home of the stunning Crown Jewels. Because of our early morning start time, you will be among the first visitors into the Tower and will have the opportunity to explore without the usual large crowds. At times an important stronghold, a magnificent palace, and an intimidating prison; the Tower of London is a must-see attraction for those interested in British history. Don’t miss out on the opportunity for a guided tour with those most familiar with it – the Beefeaters.

    What a lovely experience
One of our favorite tours out of at least 20 excursions during our month in Europe. Just fabulous. We saw so many interesting sites and had some great experiences along the way the tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

    The Perfect tour!
We visited the changing of the guard with Margaret and was absolutly amazing. We saw all perfectly and Margaret explained everything nicely and kept us entertained during the visit. The visit to Buckingham palace was amazing too.

    Horrible experience
I never leave bad reviews but this time I was disgusted by the way things were handled or to be precise Not handled. I booked tickets for friends who don’t speak english (first time in London) who were at the meeting point an hour before required time looking for the group. They couldn’t find them and missed the whole tour! I called the helpline and was promised that someone will wait for them at the entrance which never happened. When I called again I was told no one can reach the guide. I asked for a refund of £128 but was denied by claiming “it’s the policy”. What policy?? After this awful experience they left disappointed and stressed out because the main reason they travelled to UK was to see the palace. This company has no sympathy for their clients at all just wants their money. The least they could have done is to refund their money!

Good Day Out and the changing of the guards was a bonus.
Went for a visit to Buckingham palace, very good few hours wandering through the palace and the grounds, grandson really enjoyed seeing it , also the coach and coronation clothes on show were amazing to see and an extra bonus. All very well organised and no queues! Would have liked to see some cheaper items in the shop for the children to spend there own pocket money on, instead of parents having to buy everything, quite expensive.

The “walking tour” is not worth it
You will be better off just buying the entrance to the palace tickets yourself, it will be cheaper and you are doing the palace tour by yourself anyhow, so not worth it. The “walking tour” last a couple of blocks, they basically walk you from the meeting point to the entrance of the palace and that’s it. 5-10min tops. Not worth it at all.

Excellent tour but wear comfy shoes!
Our tour guide, Georgie, was excellent. She was both knowledgeable and funny, and even kept my children (reasonably) engaged! There is a lot of walking and standing, so someone with mobility issues may struggle a bit, but it was a good experience. There was more royal history (as opposed to political) than I had been expecting, but it was still very interesting and entertaining. The Churchill War Rooms were excellent, of course.

    Great tour!
We had a great morning on this tour. Natalie was fun and engaging and we learnt a lot. She ensured we reached some of the best viewpoints in good time and took us to three different places to see various parts of the changing of the guards ceremony. She worked hard to keep everyone interested and was helpful to other customers who hadn’t made it to the meeting point in time. Buckingham Palace was worth a visit - I would say this tour was worth the money

The tour was well worth the time, and Louise was fantastic. A London girl, who was hysterically funny, and very knowledgeable. She needs a raise!

    Wonderful tour
This was our first day and tour of our trip. It was a great tour. We walked down the mall and our guide showed us all the highlight spots along the way to Buckingham. I love the headsets the guide gives you, which allows you to be a little distance from the guide who’ll still hearing him explain. The I side of the palace was breathtaking! The cafe and garden at the end of the tour were a bonus! We opted to eat our lunch at the cafe, where I fell in love with coronation chicken! Great little place!

We had such a great time! The palace is amazing! Our guide was a French woman; she was awesome!!
Wow! Our guide took us to five different changing of the guard ceremonies and explained every one of them to us as well as the history.

I was worried initially since I missed booking the first VIP tour that included changing of the guards but I’m quite certain this private tour with the audience of a Beefeater was better. Absolutely make sure you get into the early morning tours. We were basically among the very first allowed entry in. Our guide Michael gave us a great history of the grounds, and anecdotes prior to gaining full entry in through the Tower gates. He was very knowledgeable and SO funny too! Once inside, we held audience with the Beefeater who provided some additional tour history around the property before we were allowed to wander around on our own. We were among the first inside to see the Crown Jewels which were marvelous. We also wandered in and out of all of the other access points for the White tower, Wakefield, Blood tower, the dungeons and the wall perimeter through the other towers. Get in in the morning before the crowds and school tours. Grab a delightful bite to eat in their cafe and then you can head next door to walk the Tower bridge. It was an absolutely amazing experience and City Wonders is THE company to work with. Also, don’t forget your rain jacket in case of rain but this is a good tour for that weather because you’re in and out of buildings quite a bit. Many thanks to City Wonders and London for allowing us Americans to enjoy our experience.

Our family of 6 booked the private guided tour of London Tower and we were lucky enough to get Danny as our guide. She was AMAZING! She knew the best way to hit all the parts of the Tower to maximize our time. She was super knowledgeable and also super funny. She got great photo opps for us, tailored her insights to what we were most interested in and was a lot of fun to spend time with.

The private guided tour was worth the splurge. We got to skip the line at the main entrance and she knew how to guide us around most efficiently - saving us time.

I don't know if you can request a guide, but if you do - ask for Danny and if not, I hope you get lucky!

I arrived at the Tower of London and nobody was expecting me. My name was not on any list and staff did not know which tour i was ment to be on. I was under the impression this is a scam tour that doesn't actually exist.
Only for the lovely staff that allowed me to join a tour i got my money worth.
I do not recommend this at all.

This experience went above and beyond my expectations. I don't know which was better, being able to enter the Castle with no crowds or having a small private tour by our own Beefeater. It ended up being just myself and one other couple and we were able to ask as many questions as we wanted. After the Beefeater gave us the tour we were able to tour the rest of the Tower on our own and see the crown jewels with still no crowds. After I had toured the entire grounds I started to leave and saw a huge crowd of people finally being let in. I was so happy to have been able to avoid the crowds and the Beefeater was so friendly and entertaining. I cannot recommend this experience enough. You most definitely get your money's worth.

Beware CITY WONDERS Tower of London Tour &Private Audience with Beefeater!
This is NOT a guided tour. You get to skip the line. Once inside the gate a Beefeater greets you, talks about the ravens in cages.
Then … you’re on your own. The “guide” disappears. No information is given about headphone rental, which direction the Crown Jewels are in (Beefeater is kind enough to share this with us).
Also, be sure to confirm your tour. Several parties arrived to find their reservation had been canceled by CITY WONDERS.
DEFINITELY book an early morning tour. We met at 8:30 and got right in to see the Crown Jewels. There was a 3 hour wait at 11am.

This is the only way you should do a tour of the Tower of London.
You go in early before it gets to crowded.
The Beefeater we had was extremely fun, entertaining and knowledgeable.
He gave us so many facts and he was willing to answer all of our questions.
Never felt rushed.
Worth the cost of the Private Tour.

Essentially, you enter the site at the time the gate opens. You are introduced to the Beefeater at the entrance. The Beefeater portion was joined by about 15 people who payed general admission to the site. No staff from City Wonders stays with you during that brief portion so there is no one to monitor or manage this. To outsiders, it just appears they are catching a Beefeater tour just as it starts. The price of the tour gains you very little and you would be better served to just queue up to enter the site at the same time you would have to be there for the CityWonders check in anyway. Staff was very friendly. Would not recommend however because the cost isn’t reflected in content. Also, it puts you 30 minutes behind everyone else queuing up for the Crown Jewels.

Dear GeekDad Thanks for leaving a review on Trip Advisor. We are sorry for the tour didn't meet your expectation. The tour is specifically called "Tower of London and Private Audience with authentic Beefeater ", this is held by the Beefeater and not from City Wonders guide. However, City Wonders is aimed to organise the guided visit, from meeting and greetings the clients, escort the clients to the correct spot, offer Customer assistance when needed, and mostly to reserve the tickets for this option which can results very hard if you want to get on your own. The price paid is proportional to the service we offer, as you received the skip the line access, which can really make the difference. We appreciate the time taken to get in touch with us, and we hope we are able to take you on tour in the near future in any of the destinations where we operate. Kind regards Barbara City Wonders team
