The tour guide Richard was very good and made the tour very informative which included plenty of amusing facts along the way. Both the pickup and drop off points worked very well for me and my family in meeting up and then for the remaining afternoon time in London.
For me, learning about the original underground station architecture and still seeing its existence today was really fascinating. Being a Londoner I’ve travelled on the underground many times, but never having had the time to really look at and appreciate the historical detail. Today was a great opportunity to do this.

This was a very informative and fun tour. Even though I lived in London for fourteen years, I learned loads, incredible facts and history of 19th and 20th century London, and this 21st too. There were eight of us so there were opportunities to ask questions and Mark, our guide, made it fun by asking questions. His knowledge was comprehensive and the two hours flew by. It is amazing that for years I had walked passed all the interesting special places on the tube without understanding their significance.

This was an excellent tour with Mark who was very knowledgeable about the underground travel system. We thought it would be great to see and hear about the underground which Mark did very professionally. We now take much more notice of the stations and history, instead of simply travelling from one station to another. The whole family enjoyed the visit. Thank you.

Our guide's name was Mark and he was a very knowledgeable tour guide. He also made sure that everyone stayed together whilst walking through the busy stations. I would definitely book again and recommend this tour to my friends.

We took this tour on the last day of our stay in London.
London has a vast underground network, which is essential for traveling to London.
It is highly recommended that you take this tour before using the London Underground.
Recognizing that the London Underground is not just a means of transportation, but a great heritage site, your journey will be more enjoyable.
The tour guide's Mark was explained in a way that we could understand, even if we did not speak English, so 60% of the explanations were understood. Also, this tour involves traveling by subway, but I was able to participate with peace of mind because I was always careful about the optimal riding position and I was very careful about it.
Unfortunately, it was a bit lost because the meeting place of the tour was not specified. I hope it would be better if we had 11 o'clock in front of the Sherlock Holmes statue at Baker Street Station.

Mark was fab! We were lucky enough to be the only four on the tour, so had complete focus with Mark. He had endless info about the history of the tube and helped us notice things that we had never spotted before. We were font spotting for the rest of the trip! A good way to get an understanding and intro to the famous London Underground.

We visited London on a birthday trip and the underground tour didn’t disappoint! Mark went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable, enjoyable tour and gave us insightful and interesting information about the history of the London Underground. I will never look at the tube in the same way again. 10/10

Mark, our guide, was thoughtful (checking we had all we needed before the tour, such as water, loo break, etc) and looked after us well throughout. He was knowledgeable and communicated his knowledge with a balanced mixture of fun, historical facts and interesting anecdotes. This tour is suitable for all ages 🤩

What a nice experience! I loved it! Richard explained and recounted the story of the London Subway in an attractive way! During the 2-hour walk, we learned so much about little things about how the London tube was created or some anecdote, etc. I don’t want to spoil you ;). I really encourage you to do this experience during your trip to London.

Great tour, Mark was very knowledgeable and engaging, the 2 hours went really quickly. Would recommend this tour as it was interesting to learn the history behind the tube and see evidence of how it used to be.

Hello, the tour advertises that you need a travel card zone 1-2 or oyster, but can you just use your contactless debit card as I do normally when travelling underground?
Richard C

Yes you can! I found it a very interesting tour.
Hi, just ordered this for my mum and dad and was planning on buying them a zone 1 & 2 travelcard each for the day, but I believe using an Oyster card will be cheaper. If I get them an Oyster card to use, how much will I need to put on it to get around all the stops on the tour? Thanks
HaBha
London, UK29 contributions
In some of the stops they will not go outside, just through a station. I would say check the tfl website. The cost of an off-peak oyster on there is how much you should add. It will be the capped price.

Is this tour good for a 6 year old who loves underground?
hazelj91
Glasgow, UK17 contributions
Absolutely, although there is a lot of walking and travelling on tube trains involved. On our tour, there were 2 young boys aged 4 and 6, and they had a great time. The guide included them in the talk and discussed the various trains with them in transit from one station to the next.

will sandals be suitable footwear for the underground tour?
HilaryU3A
Luton, UK2 contributions
You could wear sandals depending on the type but comfortable shoes would be better. The tour involves getting on and off the underground trains. Walking up and down steps- sometimes to the outside of the station and using the escalators.
