- TrailBlazer3767610 contributionsA great time had by all on our Rabbie Tour with Neil Bateman. We went on our first organized tour & chose Rabbie's not knowing anything about them. We are thrilled we chose them and our Tour Driver Extraordinaire Neil Bateman was superb. He made our trip extra special right from the beginning. We had a small group which consisted of about 7 women from Australia, 1 from Germany, and us (my husband and I from the USA.) We quickly bonded as a group and we all loved loved loved Neil. He was a great driver, a great tour guide, and just SO MUCH FUN!!! He made it all so fun and so easy. He was a wealth of knowledge, played great music, decorated the tour bus and wore his mask for all of us on Halloween and played great Halloween music. One of our last nights we all went out to a pub for dinner and Neil joined us. We gave him a card and gift to thank him for being such a great great guy. His knowledge and warm and friendly personaity was a real treat for each and every one of us. We would highly highly recommend Rabbie Tours and if you are lucky enough to find out that Neil Bateman is your driver/tour guide then you are in for a great great experience.Written January 5, 2025
- vickieo7570 contributionsThe Best Group Tour EverThis was an outstanding tour to a part of England that we had never visited. The small group allowed everyone to get to know one another. The pace was good , just leisurely enough to allow time to pursue our individual interests. What made the tour outstanding was the driver-guide, David Coatsworth! He was a real “Renaissance Man”, with an extensive knowledge and experience of all of the areas where we visited. He also was an excellent troubleshooter who kept the tour moving smoothly and enjoyably! Rabbi3’s is forunate to have him on their staff!!Written December 24, 2024
- L3116CRjeremye0 contributionsExperience of a Lifetime! My wife and I spent our Honeymoon traveling across England and Scotland and can agree that this tour was definitely our highlight of our trip. Being able to stay in Bath and having more time at each stop really set the stage. There is a day trip that does majority of this trip and it seems too rushed for these sites. We loved exploring Bath at night and taking a tour of the beautiful Roman bath house. Our tour guide Dan was AWESOME! He was professional, insightful and fun to chat with. His personality brought a lot of joy to the tour and would love to take another one with him in the future. If you have the opportunity for this tour I would highly recommend it and take the 2 day so you give yourself the time to actually explore.Written November 11, 2024
- FlorenceL18780 contributionsWonderful tour, smart and nice guidesI booked a five-days tour from London to discover Wales and had an amazing experience. I was able to see beautiful landscapes and had different chances to take photos. My guide were Jack and Carl(trainee), They were knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Jack was also very accommodating, Our tourmate Debbie wanted to see sheep and he made it happen. His best knowledge and story telling ability of any tour guide I have seen. The way he tied in the stories and music to where we were made the long day of driving go by quickly. Jack also bought Welshcake so we could taste it. Jack was an awesome storyteller and I loved his stories. Carl was a warm, friendly guide too, he helped another tourmate Christine to walk around places, because she's not very well at her mobility. Highly recommend this tour and let Jack or Carl be the tour guide. Thanks, Jack and Carl.Written November 5, 2024
- Roam465968214950 contributionsA trip of a lifetime! Lovely and logistically wonderful. It was the experience of a lifetime! The landscapes (countryside and seaside) were breath taking and left me wanting to come back. However, I don't think I I would have appreciated them as much without the insight and passion of our tour guide. Our tour guide David Coatsworth made this trip so memorable and magic! I love the passion and care he put into making everyone's experience fit what they were looking for. David made sure to give us history, fun facts, and also logistics for visiting each place. The guidance made us comfortable to explore each destination in a way that spoke most to us. David really is a special person to have met and to share this experience with. I cannot speak highly enough of him. Every site was a joy to visit. I kept joking around that I could have used an hour more at each place, but I wouldn't give up any experience to have made that happen. I was left loving each place and wanting more, which is a nice balance for my first tour ever. Overall, this was a more than I had hoped for or expected. I would consider taking another tour with Rabies anytime, especially with David as a guide. I did book this through viator, but next time I would go through Rabbies directly. They are easy to communicate with and it would've saved some money. However, having never done this before, I went through viator because I could see that lodging was arranged for me. Little did I know that Rabbies does the same thing, just at a later date. Overall 10/10!Written October 28, 2024
- soldiersuzanne0 contributionsDavid is a TREASURE, as is this trip!!We absolutely adored this trip! David shared so much fascinating and interesting information with us—we learned so much! Every site we went to was wonderful; in fact, I fell in love with Boscastle—I imagine myself living there. The accommodations were great; each place was unique. David is such a renaissance man and taught us about so many things! To top it off, he helped celebrate my birthday in the most amazing way—he is a treasure! We have been on three Rabbie’s tours, and would never book with anyone else—they are THAT good.Written October 14, 2024

- Kiwihugger0 contributionsGreat tour, lots of history and beautiful viewsThis was a great trip. I loved Stonehenge, Bath and Exeter. Glastonbury and Tavistock were good stops too but we didn't have much time there. I would have loved more time in Bath. Samuel, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the history of each place we visited and was very entertaining. The only drawback for me was the B&B in Exeter. While it was clean and well-maintained and the breakfast was very good, I was on the 3rd floor. I'm 70 and have a bad hip. Climbing those stairs was like climbing Glastonbury Tor. Especially with luggage.Written October 12, 2024
- Sharon C0 contributionsGreat overallRabbies tour was excellent value for money, comfy bus, small group, great accommodation (although many stairs to the top floor of the Kennard) Our tour guide Carl was extremely knowledgeable of all areas, prior & very pleasant. - cwb12310 contributionsNice tour of the Cotswolds and Windsor CastleReally great tour of Stonehenge Oxford bath and Windsor Castle. The two-day trip gave me enough time to see all of these places really well. The only thing I wish they could do would be integrate actual tours of Oxford and bath into the tour trip itselfWritten October 10, 2024

It was probably more than I expected in a good way. Dave Coatswood our driver/Tour Leader was brilliant. He was well researched and knew his stuff. He had a lovely personality. Vehicle was comfortable. No concerns with the accomodation. Met some nice people on the tour. I would travel with a Rabbie's tour again if have opportunity. I would also recommend this one to others.Written October 9, 2024

- juliebU680JZ0 contributionsCan’t speak highly enough of this tour! This tour was fantastic and so much more than I could have hoped for. Great itinerary with a good combination of covering some territory but also getting good amount of time at each destination. More importantly the tour driver/guide David was a delight. His experience, knowledge of the area and the roads, his skill with people, driving and planning AND his warmth and humour made this trip unforgettable. We had a gorgeous bunch of people from around the globe and I think the small group dynamic helps. The bus - excellent and comfortable. I booked my own accommodation more because I wanted a bit of control in that but from what I saw Rabbies booked accommodation were spot on- either works but do your research. So if you are deliberating but want a holiday with a blend of wild landscape, mystery, history, legend and beauty this is for you.Written September 25, 2024

Actually we went on Jan 2023. So the evaluation was a bit late, but still this was so great that we want to write it now…
The tour was as below.
Started at 9:15, we went firstly to Burford,
then to Bibury, Oxford, Ashmolean Museum.
At Burford, we had time for lunch at a great bakery, and could see the old beautiful town!
And among those sites, Bibury was very wonderful, with the landscape, the old architecture!!!
Oxford was also great with its tradition! We found the Turf Tarven, built from 12th century!
We also could see some colleges, universities at Oxford…
Because we booked 2 nights at Costwold, so we didnt go back to London with the bus, we asked John (the tour guide) to drop us near the railway in Oxford, and from Oxford we got on the train and made it to Costwold late that evening…
Overall, this tour was very good… John, the tour guide was also very nice… Recommend to other people to book this tour…
We hope to be able to visit England, Costwold again the future…

Francis is the best tour guide we have ever had! Not only is he super humorous, he also responds to each passenger individually, even when it comes to music requests during the trip. The trip is definitely enough to whet your appetite and makes you want more. The time in Oxford was enough because we now know that we want to spend a whole day there next time. We got engaged in Bibury, which has given the Cotswolds a very special charm for us. Francis was so kind to take this into account and found the right words for this moment. We can recommend the tour to anyone and would give it 100 out of 10 stars if that were possible, thanks to our great tour guide.

Great tour! The tour guide Barney shared a lot of interesting information throughout the time on the bus and was entertaining. He was transparent about the itinerary, how long we would stay in each place and adjustments he was making to let us get the most out of the day.
I had selected this tour specifically because I wanted to see parts of the English countryside at a leisurely pace. This fit the bill!
If you are visiting in March (and April too) ensure to wear comfy shoes and a warm jacket, and to pack an umbrella.

LOTS of driving but no time at sites. Oxford we only had time for lunch but no time to actually visit any sites/colleges. Same in other 2 towns. Guide was very pleasant but would not recommend this "tour" unless you enjoy a 5 hour drive through the country but no time to actually see anything in the towns

Hi Mary,
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm sorry we didn't get the balance quite right for you on this tour.
We do our best to compromise between locations and give you plenty of time off the bus, but as this is just a day tour we are limited on time. Burford and Bibury are small villages so we hope the 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes is plenty of time to take in the beautiful Cotswolds. You get a little over 2 hours in Oxford and we know that's not enough time to see everything, and for those who want to we recommend hopping on a train and spending at least a full day there. But for those who are short on time and want to squeeze in both the Cotswolds and Oxford we hope our tour gives them a chance to see a couple of the sights they really want to.
It sounds like you prefer a much more relaxed pace to your travel and in this case we've got loads of extended tours and even some more flexible day tours that might be right up your street.

We signed up for the tour starting in Bath then going to Oxford, then Burford, then Bibury before going back to Bath. It was a fantastic experience overall. The bus was small but comfortable, good air conditioning, had huge windows offering great visibility to all the surrounding sights no matter where you sit inside. And the small group size made it more efficient throughout the day.
We got extra lucky to have Barney as our guide and driver. Upon the morning arrival and from every moment thereafter he was friendly, funny, full of interesting historical facts and anecdotes, and always ready with a great recommendation for further activities. He was fully aware of and prepared for local events which might be interesting for the tour, like graduation activities at Oxford, or festival traffic between cities so as to avoid time consuming traffic. He sought out and paid attention to detail from every person on the tour throughout the day in fun and friendly ways. We have done guided tours in a LOT of cities in many different countries, but Barney stands apart. He is an example to be followed!

Awesome experience! It actually started while driving through London when the driver (who was also the tour guide) talked about some of the neighborhoods we were traveling through. Speaking of the tour guide, she was very engaging and knowledgeable and kept us all entertained without being annoying. I feel we had everything we needed to make our visits to Oxford and the Cotswolds enjoyable. I definitely recommend this tour.

Rabbie's provided a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our driver, Barry, was delightful. He was very caring and wanted us to enjoy not just the Cotswolds and Oxford but London too. He drove professionally and was knowledgable about the areas we traveled through; even sharing recommendations for favorite bakeries and shopping spots, along with area history. We left and returned promptly in a large, comfortable and clean Mercedes van. The cotswolds are just charming and I would have liked much more time in Burford. Similarly, Oxford University will take your breath away with its grandeur and history. I would have liked more time there too - but if your time is limited, this is a great way to enjoy these areas. I will be booking with Rabbie's again - a terrific time. Put on your walking shoes and enjoy!

This day trip was superb. The itinerary was thoughtfully crafted, enabled us to explore the major highlights of Cotswold and Oxford within a single day. The schedule was perfectly balanced, providing ample time to fully experience each location without any sense of haste. John efficiently communicated clear instructions and kept the group well-informed about the day's agenda.

We had a wonderful experience traveling with our guide John on a 16-person trip from London to Oxford and the Cotswalds. While there was much to see, we easily accomplished our personal goals for exploring key places, seeing some beautiful places, and grabbing a bite at one of the many restaurants and cafes along the way. John was personable and regaled us with fascinating history and unexpected details. He was also terrific at keeping us organized and on time and yet attentive to individual needs where we could take our own paths. We didn’t know what exactly to expect but were very pleased with the outcome and would definitely work with Robbie’s again on another excursion.

Cotswolds villages are excellent, time allocated to visit them is reasonable, but time allocated for Oxford was way too short. We were given only 1.5 hours to literally run through very basic route in the city center. We barely had time to have very short lunch at old tavern that was recommended by the guide. We had no time to check colleges, no time for a boat trip. 1.5 hours is definitely not enough for Oxford, it should be at least 1 hour longer, even 1.5 hours.
Also, Russ (our guide and driver) was playing very loud music on the way back. We liked music played, but it li was unreasonably loud. We asked to reduce the volume, he did, but it became very loud again in 10-15 minutes.
On the way back we asked Russ to stop near Gloucester St. as bus was passing it. We knew we could ask as on the other trip that we had a couple of days earlier guide offered to stop there as it was a convenient stop for some passengers. But Russ looked at us as idiots who don't know parking rules in London. He didn't stop there and stopped later near V&A Museum.

Surely you just have not had a chance to update your website to state that face coverings are not required? (I would never in a million years go on a tour requiring a mask.)
Written March 27, 2022
Easiest way to find out is by asking them what their current mask policy is, instead of criticizing their safety policies. We did the tour in December and kept masks on inside the tour bus as requested, with no complaints from one person.

The trip lasted the approximate time their sight says. I think we left at 9am and were back by 7/7:30. It was a full day trip. Then again, length sometimes depends on traffic.
Written January 18, 2022
Can I join the tour after 10:30?
I will arrive Oxford by train at 10:15 on 15/2. Not sure if we can skip the first part (the visit of oxford) and start from the second one.
