The river cruises from Westminster to Greenwich are a great way to see London.
Lots of ticket options available, I would recommend a return day trip, they do single, family or even two day passes, always check the last returning boat. Unlike the Uber boat, that does the same trip for a similar price, these guys will give you great commentary along the way, including lots of facts about the building and bridges and in true GB style the pubs situated along the river Thames get mentioned, they serve food snd drinks on board, and both inside and outside seating, the staff and friendly, it comes highly recommend.

The personal commentary, with the guys personal knowledge.
All of the staff on both boats were very professional, friendly and enthusiastic.
I felt very welcomed and safe at all times.
The boat had all the amenities required, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), snacks, comfortable seating, and reasonable spacious toilets.
It wasn't high season when I went, so when it is more crowded I can imagine that there is quite a queue for the toilets and refreshments.
They also didn't seem to have the ability to provide commentary in other languages (other than English) which was a bit of a shame.
My friend and I enjoyed the whole experience, and I would fully recommend it to anyone as a great way to see many of the important (and historic) sites in London, whilst giving the opportunity to visit another part of the city (we spent a brief time in Greenwich).

Fantastic easy way to see the history of London along the Thames. Drinks available for purchase - it was a cold day (and rainy of course) so we decided to stay on and take the round trip rather than getting off in Greenwich. We started upstairs outside but ended up underneath to stay warm.
We found ourselves there earlier than our time and were able to jump aboard 45 minutes earlier than planned which was very convenient.
Highly recommend for your first trip to London to easily take in all the sights in a relatively short amount of time. The tidbits provided by our captain were informative and entertaining, with the typical London sarcasm thrown in for good measure.

Our family (dad, mom, two teens) booked the hop-on hop-off cruise for part of our last day in London. We purchased the family pass and ended up on three different boats for each segment we took: Westminster to Greenwich, Greenwich to Tower Bridge, and Tower Bridge to Westminster.
The crew of the first boat gave us all a running commentary of the sights from Westminster to Greenwich, which was informative and entertaining the whole way. Even our teens liked it. Neither of the other two boats had that, but they may only do it in one direction.
The schedules were convenient for us and allowed enough time to see things at each stop in 40-minute segments. For us, Greenwich was a quick 2 hours, and so was the Tower Bridge and the area around the Tower of London (which we didn’t visit because it was too late in the day), so the boat schedule worked well.
It was a cloudy and wet day when we went, but we still enjoyed it and would recommend it to others. It’s definitely worth doing if you have an available afternoon in London.

This trip down the Thames from Westminster to Greenwich is a fantastic day out. The pier you depart from is very easy to find and the boat itself is much bigger than we expected. You wouldn’t notice it moving at all, so if you suffer from sea sickness there is no need to worry! The boat has spotless toilet facilities and snacks for sale on board, but it is cash only so make sure you bring some change. The commentary provided by the crew is very interesting and wasn’t repetitive on the return trip, with new places being pointed out to us. We could have easily spent the day in Greenwich, so I would recommend getting the earliest departure from Westminster to give yourself plenty of time to wander around. For less than £20 per person return it’s great value for money, and definitely a trip I will take again on my next visit to London.

This is a review of "Westminster To Greenwich River Thames Sightseeing Cruise".
Our school group boarded the boat at Westminster pier, point B, intending to visit the Maritime Museum at Greenwich. However, on arrival at London Bridge pier a member of the crew explained that even though our tickets were for Westminster to Greenwich, they were valid for a journey if 1hr duration only! He further explained that we could not continue to Greenwich unless we paid an additional £10 per person! Sadly we were forced to abandon the trip to the Maritime Museum, and instead took a second boat back to Westminster. (The one hour time limit was NOT made clear on the Headout.com website). Needless to say our afternoon sightseeing trip was ruined, leaving the children very disappointed.
Furthermore, the commentary was unprofessional, yet surprisingly a bucket was passed around for passengers to make a donation. Shouldn't the commentary should be included in the ticket price?
Disappointingly Headout.com have so far failed to give a satisfactory response to my refund request. Will not be using them again in future.

I took amy trip with two friends from Costa Rica, and frankly I was embarrassed. The customer experience is way below similar trips that I have taken in other major cities. There was no professional guide on board to provide commentary, nor was there a pre-recorded commentary. The crew were doing their very best to fill this rather large gap in between running the vessel. Although they did a good job, it was sometimes hard to hear them, especially as we had a noisy family at the next table. Some ear buds would have addressed this issue. You would also expect the commentary to be provided in multiple languages. Serious investment is needed to bring the service up to scratch, and to justify the substantial cost of taking the tour.

On my last day in London before heading back to the States, I decided to catch an impromptu Thames River cruise since I happened to be in the Westminster area. I only took it from Westminster to Greenwich, which was about £15 (£20 if you do the round trip back to Westminster). It was cool to see parts of Central London from the point of view of the river. There was a guy onboard over the intercom that would talk about some of the sights we would see along the way. Like all river cruises, this definitely felt a bit on the "touristy" side for me, and I wouldn't say it's a must-do while in London, but overall I enjoyed it.

Purchased a return ticket at Westminster Pier with the intention of stopping at Greenwich to visit the National Maritine Museum,Cutty Sark and take in Greenwich Market but heavy rain put paid to that plan.
Still enjoyed seeing most of Londons main attractions from the Thames and a few drinks from the onboard bar.Disembarked early on the return journey at Tower Bridge as i found the one hour cruise each way a little too long because of rain.
Boats leave every 40 monutes and a free souvenir guide is provided but didnt need it as an excellent and amusing guide gives a running commentary during your trip.

Just got off the DIsney Cruise to the British Isles. Got a ride into London, but with the current events surrounding the funeral and some sites shut down, we found this Sightseeing Tour on the River Thames. The crew was very welcoming and gave a narration of the sights, and interesting stories and history of places as we floated down the river and back up. Boat has a snack back and clean bathrooms. You can sit upstairs in the open air or down below in enclosed cockpit. We did both as it was a bit chilly in London. We truly recommend this experience to get a general idea of the sights if you have plans and we will do this again next time we're in London with the family. Thanks again for a great experience

What time is the last boat from Greenwich to Westminster in September?
Sue J
Chester, UK60 contributions
If you go to their website, thamesriversightseeing, it has the timetable on it, including details for September. At the moment it says the last trip back from Greenwich is 17.10 but obviously that may change so I'd advise checking the website nearer the time.
