Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Inspire132550 contributionsEfficient and organizedAsh did a stellar job in getting us to Stonehenge in an expedient and comfortable manner. It was very organized and he’s obviously done it many times. Thank you!Written February 6, 2025
- KokoTiong0 contributionsQuik RT to StonehengeEasy fast way to get to see Stonehenge. Driver Ash was friendly and organized. It’s a self guided tour app once you are there. Got us there and back efficiently in comfortable large Mercedes van.Written February 5, 2025

- JY_BC20200 contributionsThe Stones and Roman BathI joined this tour of Stonehenge and Bath, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Tour guide Daisy was personable, kind, knowledgeable, and funny, providing great information and historic context on the fabled prehistoric stones and the famously Georgian town with the amazing Roman ruins. Driver Ash provided a comfortable and solid ride from the central London pickup to the tour locations and back, as scheduled. The tour was well paced, with adequate individual time at the two locations, and rest stops along the way. For anyone with an interest in these two World Heritage Site icons, I highly recommend this tour. Well done, London Day Tours!Written January 20, 2025
- michellebI6984MV0 contributionsA Wonderful DayWe had a great time. It was cold, windy, and rainy. We were, however, dressed appropriately and still had a good time. The castle was closed due to the weather, but Lucy our tour guide pivoted and did a great job of showing us other historical points.Written January 8, 2025
- surfsidecl0 contributionsFantastic Tour to a Special PlaceRobert brought us from London to Stonehenge and back smoothly. Daisy, our tour guide was friendly, patient, accommodating and knowledgeable. She shared many anecdotes of the area of London that we drove through. She gave us great overview of what we would be seeing at Stonehenge and the surrounding area. There was plenty of time to meander around the site and the exhibition hall so we could experience the awe that this site inspires. Would definitely tour with them again.Written December 6, 2024
- gatestemple0 contributionsGreat time especially if you have a mapWe went to Stonehenge and Bath for the day. The tour was good but could use a few changes to make it even better. Flaya, our guide, was super. Young with a lot of energy and knowledge. Kevin, the bus driver, was excellent navigating the traffic. First good thing was we had a big bus with plenty of room that made it comfortable. Second they were on time and made sure everyone knew if you are late getting back to the bus at a rest stop, there could be consequences. Third Flaya gave a great description and history of the surrounding areas. Fourth we could have stayed longer in Bath but that would have made us returning to London past 6 pm. Now the only thing I would change. You don't have a lot of time in Bath so it would be good to know where everything is. Flaya give a good tour of the city and then let us go. It would have been better if we would have been given a map showing all the important places and the return meeting place. Fortunately I asked Flaya and she marked it on my phone. There were a lot of places of interest and it was hard to find them without a marked map. I felt like I wasted a lot of time looking for something. That is the only negative comment. I highly recommend this tour.Written November 19, 2024
- DanA30140 contributionsGet Daisy as your guideThis tour was great because of our amazing guide, Daisy. The tour starts across the street from the Natural History Museum in Kensington, which is worth a visit after the tour if you have time. PSA: admission is free! Shortly after departure, Daisy, who is from Kensington, got on the mic to call out points of interest and provide fun and interesting information about London's poshest borough, including the price of the lowest priced home on London's most expensive street to live on and a young Steve Jones, of Sex Pistols fame, stealing David Bowie's drum set after seeing him perform at the Hammersmith Odeon. As we left Kensington-Chelsea and entered Richmond, she gave recommendations for things to do there, including having dinner down by the river Thames because it makes a turn in Richmond that allows the sun to hit it just right at sunset, creating a beautiful reflection, and visiting a local bookstore where the proprietor has read every book he sells and will prove it by telling you so much about the book you're buying that you no longer need to read it. After her talk, I wanted to spend a week exploring all the off the beaten path places in London. Daisy, of course, has extensive knowledge of Stonehenge's history and theories and got back on the mic shortly before we arrived to give us the highlights. To sum it up, Daisy is well read, highly entertaining, and is happy to take as many pictures of you and Stonehenge as your heart desires. If you can, get her as your guide. She makes a tour that involves 4+ hours of driving more fun than it has any right to be.Written November 7, 2024
- 872marykayr0 contributionsFantasticAmazing & beautiful The tour guide & bus driver were great & knowledgeable Extremely accommodating Recommend taking the bus to beach The view is even prettier I think the meeting place has to be made more clear Very confusing where to actually meet the busWritten November 5, 2024
- wendanny0 contributionsAmazing Views! Our driver, Darren, was very friendly and informative as we made our way to Dover. Our guide, Lucy, was friendly and knowledgeable. Day Tours is the only company that gives you lots of time at the cliffs, which is what I wanted. We had plenty of time to walk along the cliffs, enjoy the scenery, and take lots of pictures. We chose not to go to Dover Castle so we could have even more time at the cliffs, since that's why we came! We had a beautiful day and was able to see France across the English channel. I was less impressed with Canterbury. There were some nice spots that looked more historical and charming, but the main street was more commercial. We had too much time here since we didn't tour the cathedral. Overall, it was a great tour and I would recommend!Written October 28, 2024
- T8330VIralphs0 contributionsWhite Cliffs require timeIt requires a somewhat difficult hike from the bus to get to even see the White Cliffs so this trip offered the most time there. Other tours offered less time at the Cliffs and that would have been a disappointment. I was underwhelmed by Canterbury — many historic sites in town but I didn’t leave time to see the cathedral and the rest is too commercialWritten October 26, 2024

- 4lorit0 contributionsRain or Shine Tour Offers Enough of Sites to be Amazing!Perfect mix of a tour. Just enough time to tour castle and walk part of cliff's path. Cliffs are amazing to see up close. Add Canterbury and enough time to wander and take in sights. Wish we had more time for all this but this tour was just enough to satisfy seeing so much. Our day was rain filled but the tour guides managed well and the grey added enough to make it worthwhile.Written October 13, 2024

It’s a lovely village. I enjoyed taking pictures along the river with the ducks, shopping and had a quick lunch too. It was a little rush to have Fish & Chips as the restaurant is open for lunch at 11.30am. Had to order takeaway as dine it will take a longer time. Our time allocated here is a little short. I feel that more time should be allowed to enjoy lunch and see more villages. The time allocated in Oxford was too long. Overall it was a good experience.

It was a great way to see a lot in a day. Darren and Byron did a great job navigating through busy weekend crowds and explaining the history and significance of the monuments and buildings. It was great for our family of four (12 and 14 year old kids) to get out of the city and explore a bit more of what Great Britain has to offer.

This was an amazing trip, such beautiful sightseeing through the Cotswolds and stopping in the different towns. Lots of things to do and plenty to see. Oxford was beautiful, so many prestigious colleges you can visit and always a tour to do! Ash was our driver for the day, he is lovely and did a great job of getting us to our destinations on time safely. Flossy was our tour guide and she was great. Her lovely quirky personality really shines through and kept us all entertained throughout our trip and has a wealth of knowledge to share. I just wish our stops in the Cotswolds was a bit longer but all in all a fantastic day trip out of London, I highly recommend doing it 😊

We booked this trip on Tuesday, Sept 23rd and the itinerary included a stop at Bibury but were told the morning of the trip (3 days later) “we know you probably booked this trip weeks or months ago and were told Bibury was a stop but in the last 10 days, the bridge into Bibury has partially collapsed and no longer can handle buses so we’re going to Bourton on the Water”. Looking at reviews now, I can see the bridge closure was going on since at least the end of August so the itinerary should’ve been updated by the time we booked. We felt like we got a bait and switch.
Also, our tour guide didn’t join us until almost 2 hours into the trip and then left almost 2 hours before getting back to London. Other than the walking tour at Oxford (which was great!), we didn’t get much of a “guided” tour.
Our bus driver, Dean, was amazing and we felt very comfortable on his bus.
If we were to do the day over, we would’ve just taken public transport out to Oxford - there’s a ton to do on campus (shops that include campus and London merch, tons of restaurants and shops, and the campus is beautiful!!!!). The extra drive to the Cotswolds was NOT worth what we saw.

Late May. I participated on a cloudy and sometimes rainy day with an outside temperature of 14 to 17 degrees. I had always wanted to go to Cots and Oxford, where many mysteries are set. The participants were very civilized and got on the bus right before the meeting point. No one was late. Everything went smoothly. The driver was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and a miniskirt. Very summery. The guide was also wearing a short-sleeved polo shirt. He asked me how the temperature was on the bus, and even though I told him it was cold because the air conditioning was on full blast, he said, "See how it goes, other people are saying it's fine." That's all. I was freezing. It's a terrible bus tour for Japanese people with little muscle. No one asked me afterwards if I was okay. Cots was pretty cute, but the building was old and the sofa in the cafe was ripped and had holes in it. It was below expectations. Oxford is popular for Harry Potter-related things, and you can't enter the dining hall at Hogwarts unless you make a reservation yourself. The guide was friendly, but it's more geared towards Westerners. He didn't even say hello when we passed each other in town. At the end, he asked me for a tip in an envelope on the bus. This hasn't changed since I came here decades ago. I was surprised. I thought this was England, where they don't make any effort to improve anything. With so many tourists coming, they should at least fix the worn out sofas.

Although I really wanted to see the Cotswold villages, it was a beautiful day and there were just too many people. They were very scenic. I didn't think I would like the oxford part of the trip but it really surprised me. I loved the small bit of history and the architecture of the buildings. It is a shame we couldn't get into more of them. The guide had knowledge about a few places that were used in Harry Potter films and that allowed you to visualize some of the insides of buildings

We had a delightful day visiting the Cotswold and Oxford areas. Simon is a terrific guide, smoothly organizing the transportation logistics throughout the day, and generously sharing his knowledge of the areas.
Simon’s historical knowledge of the regions, coupled with his stories, literary references and humor made the day not only informative but entertaining! Although a long day, it was a good balance of walking, and relaxing during the transport.
He provided extras such as when there was a sudden downpour, he offered a few plastic rain-covers to those not prepared. He even gave us Oxford postcards. A real pro! Thoughtful and kind. A great guide!
This was a highlights of our trip. Highly recommend walks.com as a tour company. We’ve done a few now and enjoyed them all.

I recently did the Cotswolds and Oxford day tour. Our tour guide James was cordial, he provided a thoughtful, detailed, tour and historic commentary with humour. James, our driver was kind, friendly and professional, he provided a smooth and safe bus journey. The Cotswolds towns visited, Burford and Bourton-on-Water, are historic and quaint, quintessential Cotswolds; the visit to Oxford included a one hour walking tour with excellent information provided by James. The overall pace of this tour is comfortable and I enjoyed it very much. If you're a fan of the "English countryside" and iconic English cultural assets [think the Harry Potter phenomenon, shows like Father Brown, Endeavour, Sister Boniface, Midsomer Murders, etc], you will too. I highly recommend this tour!

You can’t really mess up the beauty of the Cotswolds and Oxford, hence the two stars. The “tour” component was a disappointment. The bus was cramped, overstuffed and much too warm. The tour guide was disheveled, confused at times and offered little to no information, particularly on the way back from Oxford. It felt more like a long bus ride and for the money was not worth it. Would not recommend.

This review is primarily about the tour guide. Let me state the obvious first. Cotswolds is magical. The experience, the visuals and the environment are amazing. I could spend my entire summer there, but I still want more. Oxford brings an awe. Looking at the old college building, I just wanted to come to Oxford and study again, even though I hate studying. It's worth going to these places.
The extra star in my review is simply for James, our tour guide. He was a delight. He had so many stories to share and he's a master storyteller. He never seems rushed or flustered. The best thing about him was that he seemed more interested in telling us about the places than in us knowing about the places. Wonderful person and guide. Highly recommended and if you got to change your date to get him as your tour guide? Worth it!

Does the tour at Oxford includes touring the Oxford University?
Written August 13, 2019
As I recall, it was a superficial tour of the exterior of the multiple campuses and library (where a scene from Harry Potter was filmed). One of the universities was open (Christ Church?) for those that were interested to enter the premises, but people weren't escorted. We were free to explore independently until it was time for the bus to return to London.

How long this tour stop in cotswolds? Are they stop in bibury?

No Bibury. The whole trip is Cotswolds which is a rural area outside London.

Does the tour company do a walking tour of oxford or give you information about oxford
Written January 30, 2019
A little of both. More independent than guided. Excellent instructions as how to get around. The more adventurous people might want to walk farther, maybe to the church where Shakespeare is buried. Beautiful town.

What is the drop off location? Is it Paddington or Willesden Green London Underground Bakerloo line station? In the website it says Paddington but from the review notes I have seen it as Willesden Green, could you please clarify that?
Written October 15, 2018
They change locations. The reason they give (which is probably reasonable, depending on one's circumstances, I think...), is that due to the heavy London traffic, you would be better off being dropped off at a location outside the centre in order to avoid huge delays, due to traffic, as the coach would take too long to get back to the original drop off point. You would be better off catching a train or metro to your hotel from wherever they drop you off. We found that to be convenient, but I don't know whether everybody would. However, bear in mind that London traffic at that time of the day (late afternoon, early evening) is extremely heavy, so you could understand their line of reasoning!
