- RCIT00DisappointingWe did the afternoon tour and were disappointed. First it was difficult to find the meeting location as they don't give you a precise address, and most of the buildings do not have numbers on them so you aren't sure where to go. We spoke to others that felt the same, and we had to inquire with numerous businesses to find our location. It would be much better if they simply said to meet in front of the Art Gallery, which, ultimately was where we met ( but we only learned this by going in and speaking to the staff of the gallery). The guide was just ok. He was not particularly interesting or engaging and the "ripper vision" was simply a small hand-held device that shone images, which were mostly just drawings on walls in various locations around the city. This was done often in a shaky manner making it difficult to see the images clearly. In one of the locations our guide ended up arguing with the building owner as to whether he was allowed to be there and we ultimately had to leave and wander around so he could find another spot to tell us about the next slide because he could only use a white wall. Over all, I was expecting more. All this is is a walk through a seedy area of East London with some brief descriptions in a few locations. The noise from the street made it difficult to hear the guide in several spots, although he did his best to try to shout over the pub noise, traffic and the other tour guides doing similar tours. Over all I wouldn't recommend this tour since there was really nothing special about it at all.
- jenkeohane00Excellent tour!!Rob was our tour guide for this tour and it was absolutely brilliant!! We all had a great time. He was so informative an engaging with the group. We would highly recommend.
- nathana26500Jack the Ripper tour with "ripper vision"Went on this tour Friday 22nd Sept for part of our wedding anniversary away. Weather held up which was great and the guide Nick was very engaging and inclusive of the crowd. Really knew how to play the audience and got us involved. Took us to some of the east end locations and added to the story with Ripper vision which essentially projects images of characters and locations. Lasted around 2hrs in the end but we were all very engaged in it. Not loads of walking but you are on your feet the whole time so may be unsuitable if you have mobility issues. Its not a childrens tour. Not graphic but we are talking murder and serial killers here. I would definately recommend. Nath
- keithdZ7895NL00London Trip- Sept 23Our guide Andre was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about this experience. We had a group of 30+,of all ages and nationalities . I liked the idea of projecting the story using the hand held projector onto the wall to give a better perspective of what happened. Highly recommend this tour to all.
- ronaldg97800Changing of the GuardsJohn was a good tour guide and keep us on schedule so we were able to see the various changing of the guard locations. He provided excellent background and let us know what to expect. Highly recommend.
- erikal67900So interesting!! Learned about Jack the Ripper Case and moreMy husband and I had the best time walking the Whitechapel area with our guide, Jamie. Jamie obviously knew a lot about the Jack the Ripper case but he also knew the history of the area and of the times so he painted a complete picture of what was going on at that time. It was too light for ripper vision but no one in our group even seemed to care because Jamie was so engaging with all of us. I learned so much! It’s a sad but fascinating case. We highly recommend this tour.
- JayneHorner00Changing of the Horse GuardsNick was our tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about everything & really made the tour interesting. He had funny stories about everything which we enjoyed and it made the experience more enjoyable & fun. We were there for the change of the horse guards & he timed the tour to perfection so we finished with last bit of the horses changing places to stand guard.
- Dollylicious00Entertaining while walkingWhile travelling from Australia this tour was a definite must-do. Harry, our guide, was very entertaining and informative also appreciated his concern and care for all the group. Enjoyed walking through some of Whitechapel streets, the area certainly had the feel of darkness and sinister. Was unimpressed with the ripper-vision though, it consisted of two photos being projected onto the walls of locations of a couple of the murders. Obviously the area is popular with visitors and tours but on several occasions our group had to manoeuvre our way through other similar tour groups. Maybe these could be time controlled ? At the end of the tour it was left to us to find our own way back, I found this a bit scary given the recent subject choice, and being a female! But otherwise, it was an enjoyable 2hours.
- G5328PGkaiw00Dont miss this opportunityWe enjoyed a very informative tour with our very experienced, friendly and funny guide John. Even if the timing was quite tight between the stages, the weather was beautiful, even the band played and we found nice spots to follow the hole ceremony in detail. Many thanks again. 100% worth spending time.
- Hotellds00Great tour and worth itOur guide is great and we are able to get good view of the changing of the guards and see other areas
- Sightseer0398867083300Jack the Ripper TourThis was a great experience, interactive and very informative. Jamie was a great guide, so knowledgeable and very funny. Enjoyed this so much!
- emilybC8601IH00Jamie was great!Jamie was absolutely amazing! So fun, engaging, knowledgeable, and took such thoughtful care of our group. We had such an incredible time and learned so much. He even went above and beyond to point us in a few great directions for pubs & restaurants. Highly recommend!
- 433julietj00Excellent 10/10This is my 2nd time attending the Jack The Ripper tour. Rob is full of knowledge and is excellent, highly recommended... 100% worth booking.
- VickyC226500ThrillingThe whole event was brilliant, we were submersed into the 1800s by the descriptive narrative given by Mick our tour guide.
- pegb131300The experience was okay but not greatMy husband and I agree that the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the known and suspected facts and theories about Jack the Ripper, but he was a bit pompous and not very approachable. In addition, the "Ripper-Vision" was a hand-held projector that he held and shined on walls or overhangs at a couple of the stops. The problem was that the guide did not have steady hands, so the projection shook and was hard to follow. This tour is not for the faint of heart. There were autopsy photographs of some of the victims, and at the last stop there was a crime scene photo that was gruesome (but so was Jack, and the guide warned us about the photo before he projected it). Also, the tour takes 1.75 hours, and there is a lot of walking over cobblestone streets. Towards the end lots of the guests were looking for a place to sit down and listen to the guide. We didn't know what we expected on the tour, but it seemed to be missing something; we just can't put our fingers on it.

We had a weekend break in London to take in a show so I decided to book this as the wife enjoys tours of this nature.
The start point was easy to find, we were put into two groups and went on our tour with Johnny, probably about 30 people in the group which initially seemed a lot but we were marshalled well and no one missed out.
The tour was informative and had its funny moments, the Rippervision gimmick is well used and rather than handing around a photo allows you to see drawings and information of what certain areas looked like back in the day.
A great value way (£14.00) to spend 90 minutes walking around Whitechapel learning about the ripper.

Really engaging tour with an excellent guide (I think his name was Mick? Long dark hair, North East accent, dressed as Jack the Ripper..). I have lived in London for years but it was really interesting to actually wander round and see what is left of London from that time, and what those buildings used to represent.
Our guide clearly knew his stuff, and the added bonus was all of the additional dark tales he told as we walked round!
Highly recommend, especially as it gets dark (worth booking at a time of year when it is dark by 7.30pm if you can).

This was a fantastic way to spend an evening in Whitechapel London. It is a busy tour (30/40 people) but to be honest that didn’t bother us at all and it didn’t detract anything from the tour. This is because our tour guide (Andre) was so energetic that he enthralled all 30 of us! He genuinely made the event, he was knowledgeable with loads of anecdotes and answered any question we threw at him. We went for a drink in the ten bells afterwards (thoroughly recommend). Highly encourage you to do the tour if you are in London or a budding ripporologist. Handy hint…. You don’t need to go to the ripper museum if you do this tour it is 20x more informative than the museum so you can save yourself a few quid.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this tour while visiting from Sweden . We were curious about White Chapel due to its history and took it upon ourselves to check out the area for Jack the
Ripper sites and infor. I’m so happy that we found
this tour company , completely by accident ! Alan was absolutely fantastic ! He made the tour both entertaining and educational! He was a charming tour guide and extremely quick witted as well
as extremely knowledgeable about his Ripper history! We were taken back in time , to the actual sites , buildings , pubs, churches and
other sites where Jack the Ripper committed hiscrimes The Ripper Vision made it authentic and you could feel Jack watching you in the spooky London night air ! I’m so happy we did this and feel lucky we had Alan as our tour guide .Heis definitely a expert in the history of Jack the Ripper I was so immersed in his story telling ! I can’t say enough about Alan he was witty , kind , smart, funny and truly a fantastic narrator! Itwasthe best night we spent in London in my opinion! This tour is a must ! I recommend going to the office located by the White Chapel Gallery(the meeting point to begin the tour) topurchase your tickets , as you will save a few pounds this way ! There were two tour times 5 and 7:30 and we chose the later time , so it was really good and dark which to me added to theexperience. You will finish at a very convenient point to any train station or underground . It’s is absolutely amazing and you definitely get a bangfor your buck so to speak ! I recommend thepub ( the Tin Bells Pub ) after your tour , as it is still the same pub that stood there during this notorious time ! I thought that was extremely cool, the walls inside are the very same ones that his victims leaned upon drinking their 70 proof gin ! You won’t regret it ! It was hands down the very best time this LA (USA) born Swede had during our week stay in London ! Sometimes those spontaneous decisions really are great ones !

My husband and I took the tour on 29th with Sinead and found it fascinating. Sinead was a wonderful storyteller and we were gripped from the start. What I really liked about the tour was how it was centred around the victims and told some of their backstory and really painted a picture of how tough life was for them. It treated them as human beings with their own story not just victims of the ripper. The projections were a great feature as well. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in this subject, I know I will be doing more reading up about it now I’ve been on this tour! Thanks again for a great evening!

Jamie was one of - if not the best - tour guides I’ve ever had. He was not only really historically knowledgeable but also hilarious and witty whilst maintaining a human element to a really sad story.
He also did a great job of keeping us out of the rain as much as possible. Highly recommend this tour and Jamie in particular! Give that man a pay rise.

I have always been fascinated by the Jack the Ripper story and with a few days in London last week I decided to book the evening Jack the Ripper tour with Ripper Vision for my group of five. We spent an hour and a half in the Ten Bells Pub to get in the mood and met our tour group at the starting point.
When our tour guide, Mick, showed up we knew immediately that it would be a fun tour. Mick was dressed rather eccentrically, more on that later, and had a very engaging personality. He led our group at a very rapid pace through the streets of White Chapel and stopped often to tell us the history of what happened on that spot. He made the story come alive with his mannerisms and knowledge of the events. We came to find out that his attire, long coat, flat hat, and scarf was the exact clothing reported by a witness who came upon Jack the Ripper hustling down the street after a gruesome murder. At one point we stopped in a dark spot and Mick flashed pictures on the wall with his Ripper Vision projector. We finished upstairs in a pub with Ripper history while Mick talked about possible suspects and such. There was a great assortment of Jack the Ripper merchandise for sale. The tour lasted almost two hours and required a lot of walking.
I thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone. For the spookiest experience do the evening tour. We felt completely safe walking the streets at night and Mick was absolutely fabulous! He lives the story, heart and soul and really puts you in the shoes of Jack the Ripper and his victims.

Jamie, our tour guide was brilliant! Very knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. He had a super little digital projector from which he showed us photographs of evidence, letters, portraits and London scenes at the time of the murders, projecting them onto walls in the street as he told the story of Jack The Ripper. He made sure everyone in the group felt safe and welcome at all times. And he asked us questions about what we knew, as much as we asked him. He is well worth tipping at the end! :D

The guide was excellent and engaging and he had to be, such was the dearth of material. This is really a long walk with a few words rather than a tour. I would suggest thirty minutes would nail the lot quite easily.
Not sure about the ripper vision part - we got to see one photo projected on the underside of a car port and then at the end were invited for the rest of the projections to be viewed in a room above a pub where we were welcome to take a drink up with us. I'm sure the guide's mate is very pleased with that arrangement but we didn't really fancy waiting thirty minutes for everyone to get their drinks and then watch a load of images that are readily available. The pub doesn't even appear to have much of a Ripper link.
Too much of the area has been developed to be able to bring things alive and I am sure the projectors are meant to replace that - so if they can't be used there should at least be props or people in character. Instead this was an overlong stroll around a generally dismal area.
The group was really too large and they appeared to have 70 across two groups with at least four other groups in the area - it's clearly a money for old rope sort of gig, trading on the name of a near mythical killer whilst making little effort.
The lack of the projectors, the reason we picked this tour, was the biggest disappointment.
Apart from the twenty minutes when the guide was talking, this was actually quite boring. The most exciting thing was some unrelated graffiti.

Rippertour
Hi we are sorry you did not enjoy the tour. However we must point out some inaccuracies in your review.
You cannot walk to the crime scenes in 30 minutes. It would be impossible. Secondly nobody would consider a 30 minute tour value for money. Our tour lasts 1 hour and 45 mins and we take in as much as possible with the ripper story.
There is still plenty of sites to see from the Ripper’s time, including murder sites, pubs, shops, streets and other locations which featured in the ever day lives of the victims and police.
The pub at the end of the tour where you guide was going to take you actually features in the ripper story. The last Whitechapel murder victim was in this pub with the only man to ever be arrested and charged with a Jack the Ripper murder. So very significant.
As for unrelated graffiti, it was the only clue ever found in the Ripper case and the scene of another infamous clue which tells us a lot about the killer. These are undisputed facts of the case.
Please come again and stay for the whole tour and I promise you will be much more impressed at what we show you.
Regards
Richard
