- scottbL8074WK0 contributionsGeorge -THE best Jack the Ripper tour host everThank you George. What a wonderful guide. Informative, energetic enthusiastic, multi lingualish (key words in French and German) including Freemasons in both languages plus in 'teenager'. A truly memorable couple of hours. Thank you from Scott Alex and Phoebe - Farnborough, HampshireWritten October 30, 2024
- Pongdog0 contributionsThe Best Jack the Ripper Tour Guide, Hands DownIf you're scrolling through the various tours about Jack the Ripper - wondering which one to book - then stop right now as you've found the best of the best. George is THE MAN when it comes to Jack the Ripper: extremely knowledgeable, very personable, and just downright friendly with a real sense of humor. He has a pleasant voice that projects well so everyone in your group can hear him. He brought an extra measure to the tour with his insight into how it was to live in Whitechapel back when Jack the Ripper roamed the very streets where the tour takes place. It is uncanny how he knows the five victims and how each perished. The many Jack the Ripper tours that are offered can't help but overlap in Whitechapel. You can tell how popular George is by the size of his groups - easily the largest of the three competing tours we came across. So just go ahead and book George - you won't regret it!Written October 29, 2024
- Adventure141736301040 contributionsSceptic that enjoyed the experienceI wasn’t sure what to expect but I really enjoyed the experience. Our guide was George who was an amazing storyteller. I was fully immersed in the story telling, especially the way we moved around the town as the story unfolded. He also had an amazing ability to project his voice making it easy to hear no matter where you stood or what was happening on a busy night around you. 10/10 would recommendWritten October 18, 2024
- R1138GTkeithr0 contributionsWonderful storteller, clever twistsWe did the evening tour w George (who could stand in as Jude Law in a pinch). He's a true storyteller, started right on time, kept a lively pace and had a clever way to frame the story, and obviously knows all the legend inside and out. I am deaf in one ear and I appreciated I could hear him clearly no matter where I stood.Written September 21, 2024
- russ773030 contributionsAwesome ExperienceOur guide, George, was absolutely amazing. His knowledge and insights made for a memorable night. George provided more than just detailed information and background to Jack the Ripper, but also to the rich history of European monarchies.... George even stayed on after the tour concluded to ensure all participants had a safe means of travel to their next destination. Highly recommended.Written September 9, 2024
- 845miriame0 contributionsMystery and drama at its bestThat was most likely the best tour I ever booked in 40 years of city trips. Excellent background knowledge about history, locations and suspects. Passionate speaker with the right level of detail and teasers to catch the audience. Mystery and drama at its best. Very informative and entertaining. Will try his Pub tour next time I visit LondonWritten September 8, 2024
- W4080GRbeckym0 contributionsGeorge is amazing!I would highly recommend this tour. Not only is it fascinating & informative but you couldn't get a better guide than George. He's very friendly, knowledgeable & animated. My only regret is having done the tour at the end of my trip. Next time I would do it earlier on in, so that I still had enough time & energy left to interact with George more. I'd even invite him out to the pub after because he's a really interesting person! Thanks for an amazing tour George 👏Written September 7, 2024
- aprilbR4328AZ0 contributionsGreat Tour for Harry Potter Fans!I did the Harry Potter walking tour last week with my best friend, and we had so much fun! Our tour guide, George, was a Harry Potter expert telling us lots of fun facts about the locations we visited. Not only that, as we walked around, he would tell us other interesting things about famous places in the city as we went by. We feel like we got to see so many Harry Potter locations (Diagon Alley, King's Cross, Gringott's, Grimmauld Place, etc), and we only needed to use the metro once, I think. The tour does involve a lot of walking, so keep that in mind. My only disappointment (which had nothing to do with George which is why I'm still giving it 5 stars) was that Viator didn't notify our tour guide that we had booked the tour until the very last minute. George was kind enough to rearrange his schedule so we could still do the tour, but Viator was not on top of things.Written August 19, 2024
- 995lynnej0 contributionsExcellent Tour!We loved this tour! George was a fanatstic, knowledgeable guide and kept us interested for the entire experience. He is such a vivid storyteller that you can easily picture what the area looked like in the 1880s. We learned a lot of new information and appreciated the opportunity to see a part of London that we likely wouldn’t have otherwise visited. Very easy to find the meeting location. Our family of four (including 13 and 15 year old boys) spent over a week visiting the main attractions in London and this tour was a top highlight for all of us. We highly recommend it!Written July 19, 2024
- borb_lam3730 contributionsWould recommend if you like historic pubs, beer and sightseeing on footLovely and knowledgeable guide, fun facts not only about pubs but history of the city also, nice venues, we could try different types of beer and cyder at the stops.Written July 14, 2024
- Q5884WJdonnar0 contributionsJack the Ripper brought to lifeGeorge our guide was fantastic. He really brought the story to life and was able to project his voice really well. He took the time to discuss various suspects and included a bonus murder at the end. I would really recommend this tour.Written June 23, 2024

- richardhC5400WC0 contributionsJack the Ripper Tour, great night out.We booked the tour not really knowing what to expect but the whole experience was fantastic. Our Guide (George) explained everything in detail, took us to the spots to tell us what had happened and gave us quite a theatrical performance to the point I would do it again. If your looking for a great couple of hours entertainment on a subject that has baffled everyone for years and will continue to do so then get on this tour.Written June 14, 2024

- 0guillaumew0 contributionsA Night with The Ripper: George’s Masterful Tour into Victorian DarknessI can’t recommend the Jack the Ripper tour enough! Our tour guide, George, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the topic. He did a fantastic job of bringing the history and mystery of Jack the Ripper to life. The tour itself was both informative and entertaining, as well as spooky, with stops at key locations and engaging storytelling. I was enveloped by his impressive body of knowledge pertaining to the dark history of one of the most infamous killers in London’s dark past. Overall, it was a fascinating and memorable experience that I would definitely do again.Written March 12, 2024

This so the tour to do if you want history, ghost stories, and an absolutely amazing tour guide. We had maybe 30 people on this tour, and he made sure everyone was able to hear and kept up. The stories were intertwined with history, so you really start to get a sense of a city and how affected by WW2 it was. I think this has got to be the best tour guide in London. Idk I haven’t been on any other tours. But I stand by that. I hear he does other tours. I’ll be checking those out FOR SURE.

George was an excellent guide from the start, as he came round the church to find us - he managed to lead us on a fascinating tour of some of the spooky areas of the city, keeping us engaged and entertained for the full two hours. He did have to compete with the Cancer Research Shine walk at several points and he was professsional and calm all the way through. Definitely a walk that works after dark :)

It was a wonderful walk of beautiful sites, historical stories and legends. George was loud, entertaining and full of information. He loved to answer questions while walking between sites and engaged several guests in conversation about WWII, the Romans and anything they wished to bring up.
I personally got to see the bells that made my Nana Cockney. Which was very special to me.
I highly recommend this walk for anyone wanting a personal insight into the city of London.

Had a great time last night with George, wandering the streets of London learning about the history of some of the city's landmarks and their ghost stories. It was quite literally freezing but George still took the time to go into great detail about everything, answer all of our questions and share his knowledge of the city and it's spectres with us. Very enthusiastic, entertaining and friendly - highly recommended!

It was great to hear all the stories, it made the walking effortless despite my leg was hurting, time went by pretty quickly. It's not mainly spooky, it's more of nice parts of London history at the spots where they happened and tied to amusing ghost sightenings.
Our guide knew everything about London and we did test him. He talked loud and clear and made sure we all understood him.

We took this tour with George recently. He was an excellent guide - friendly, knowledgeable, informative, and adaptable to the interests of the group. (When it came up that we are fans of "Sherlock", he made a point of stopping at the building used for the rooftop scene from the end of season two.)
The tour itself was interesting and well worth doing, but it was essentially an excellent history tour with ghost stories, presented with a wink. Most of the stories were introduced with "people have said" or "some people believe" or a similar "now, we don't actually believe this" sort of phrase. Even if that's your attitude towards ghost stories, as it is mine, it sets the atmosphere for the tour well short of spooky or scary. If you're looking for that supernatural atmosphere, this might disappoint you somewhat. If you want some fascinating bits of history and culture from central London, with a few of the more colorful ghosts thrown in, you'll love it.

Really enjoyed doing the Ghastly Ghost walking tour in London. Starting at All hallows by the tower and ending at St Paul's Cathedral. George was a great guide and was very knowledgeable about the city of London's history including many of its ghost stories. He gave us time to take any pictures we wanted to of the locations along the route and was willing to answer any questions we had. He even recommended a good pub to visit after the tour and the best tube station to get to. Will definitely be recommending this tour to any friends or family I have staying in London.

This tour was a great way to learn more about London and some of the spooky history connected with many of its famous landmarks. Our tour guide, George, was brilliant. He is an amazing story teller, super animated and made sure everyone could see and hear him. George's knowledge is VAST and he's an extremely kind and genuine man. Definitely book this experience to learn more about some great places in London and plus you'll be out of the way of the busy day-time foot traffic. Ask George for a pub recommendation and grab a drink afterwards!

Hi would this tour be OK for a 12 year old ? He's pretty robust and not easily scared - if yes is it the same price or is there a discount ? Thanks

Will this tour take place even if there are very few bookings?
Written July 1, 2018
I would expect so, yes. We were 7 to start and 2 ppl arrived late but the tour still went on and i’ve read reviews where there were less showing up. But if you plan to do the tour in the summer holidays i think it will be well attended as London is a popular city trip destination so plenty of people who most likely will book it too. Enjoy your tour!
