Highlights
  • Get a close look at real Beefeaters and march along side the Queen’s Guard
  • See London sights on a walking tour with commentary from your guide
  • See the Wellington Barracks and Buckingham Palace
  • Learn about London’s monarchy and royal history
What to Expect
Meet your guide at an agreed time and start with a short overview of the morning’s events. Then walk down Lower Regent Street towards Waterloo Place where you stop to hear some geography and history about the area. Continue along the Mall, stopping at different landmarks, and then walk to St. James Palace, where the old Guard arrives for their inspection. Next, you march in step with the Queen’s Guard, and then your guide leads you to Wellington Barracks, before finishing the tour with a view of Buckingham Palace. Please note: you need to keep apace with the Guard and climb two flights of stairs; so you need relative fitness to take the tour. Due to the crowd size, it is not possible to view the ceremony at the Buckingham Palace courtyard.

Response from mtotheged, Owner at Changing of the Guard Guided Walking Tour in London
Responded Mar 13, 2020
Hi Cheryl I'm glad you enjoyed the tour but am rather frustrated that you decided to penalise us on the basis that you hadn't read our tour description properly and that it was 'exactly as described' ! I personally have spent a great deal of time ensuring the description is crystal clear so as to avoid any confusion. When you get a moment, do take some time to check out our video on YouTube which explains what the ceremony is like if you did spend your time at Buckingham Palace at the gates rather than being on a tour and then hopefully you will consider amending your review.

Loved this tour which I did with my 10 year old. Touring in Winter is great as the crowds are not so hard to deal with. Our guide had us in the perfect position at all stops. We were lucky, as we only had 4 people on our tour. Can highly recommend doing this tour. Lots of fun

Danielle was our guide, very funny and full of energy, she got some secret moves so our group has the best view of the parade, my cousin lives in High Wycombe, she has watched the COG every time she got visitors for the last 10+ yrs, but was so surprised when she went with me
