Save on both time and transport costs with an action-packed itinerary that visits three of southeast England’s most popular day trip destinations and one of London’s most atmospheric neighborhoods. Follow in the footsteps of Henry VIII at Leeds Castle, visit the UNESCO-listed Canterbury Cathedral, and see the White Cliffs of Dover, then return to London to discover the maritime heritage of Greenwich and cruise along the River Thames.
What to Expect
Make your way to the meeting point in central London for an early morning departure. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned coach, set out on the scenic journey through the Kent countryside to Leeds Castle.

Arrive at the castle for an early morning tour and receive a regal welcome with a glass of traditional mead. Enjoy a guided tour of the grand Tudor castle before the crowds arrive and hear all about its fascinating history, from the time of William the Conqueror to its most notorious former resident, Henry VIII.

Continue to Canterbury, where the star attraction is the UNESCO-listed Canterbury Cathedral. After admiring the cathedral’s Gothic facade, head inside to marvel at the beautiful stained glass windows.

After tucking into a packed lunch, continue to England’s southeast coast to see the mighty White Cliffs of Dover, looking out across the English Channel. Hop out to take photos of the dramatic seafront and see Dover Castle, before returning to London.

The final stop of the day is Greenwich, a lively London neighborhood on the banks of the River Thames. Learn about its rich maritime heritage and see landmarks including the Old Royal Naval College, Royal Observatory, and the 19th-century tea clipper, Cutty Sark.

Finish the day with a scenic boat cruise along the River Thames and admire London landmarks like the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, and Big Ben from the water. Arrive back in central London around 6:30pm, where your tour ends at Embankment Pier.

This was a great trip - not too long, plenty of stops to avoid long bus drives, and a great, energetic tour guide. Very enjoyable. I recommend spending little time inside Leeds Castle and more on the grounds, which are lovely. Golden Tours provides a...More

Enjoyable day-trip to multiple locations

This all-day excursion was a fun (but understandably hurried) way to see a variety of sites in southeast England at a reasonable price. Leeds Castle and Canterbury Cathedral were the highlights, and the high-speed boat trip from Greenwich up to Embankment Pier was an excellent...More
