This full-day tour sets out from central London in the morning. Meet your guide at one of two locations, climb aboard a comfortable coach, and set off from the city with a small group. En route, enjoy views of the quaint English countryside, and learn from your guide about the thousands of years of history that Bath and Stonehenge offer. Add a dose of excitement to your journey in the form of a secret stop, revealed only on the day. Then, continue onward to Stonehenge: a mysterious, neolithic landmark that also has UNESCO designation. Explore the site, take photos, and see exhibits at the visitor center. The trip progresses to Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its Georgian architecture, natural thermal springs, and Roman history. Visit some of the city’s most popular attractions, including the Royal Crescent and Jane Austen Centre, and opt for an additional walking tour with your guide to discover more. All around great experience
Loved the whole day! The tour with Cara was great. There was enough time to explore each area and throughly enjoyable. I liked that it was a small bus so there weren't too many people. Cara was an excellent driver, tour guide and very attentive. Great experience.

A Great Day outside of London
We so enjoyed our "Cotswolds Villages, Stratford and Oxford Day Tour. This was my second tour with The English Bus, and it was fabulous! Lucy, our guide/driver was a gem. She gave us much history, was filled with such joy and had everyone laughing and asking questions. Lucy found a perfect balance between information, entertainment, and personalization. The tour included many stops but was well balanced so we didn't feel we missed something or didn't have enough time. It was a great overview and we definitely know where we would want to go back to explore more. Each stop was different and well timed and then there was the incredible Lucy which made this an unforgettable day exploring outside London.

Fantastic Tour with Cara and the English Bus
Just returned from a spectacular trip on The English Bus to Stonehenge, Bath, and the village of Castle Combe within Cotswolds. Cara was our driver/ tour guide for the day & we found her to be amazing! She is highly energetic and her passion for history shines. We found the sprinter bus to be very clean and comfortable. The size of 16 people was the perfect size feeling quaint and personable. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone! You will not regret it!

      A wonderful day!
Lucy was brilliant and so knowledgeable about Stonehenge! Bath is just gorgeous. The Cotswolds are a fairy tale! Great tour and would definitely recommend. My only suggestion would be to put the Bath walking tour at the end of the time there instead of 20 minutes after the drop-off

      Outstanding!
This tour company is hands down the best for English countryside sites. The tour guide was incredibly personable and well educated on history and facts. The van was perfect and comfortable.

A perfect ending to a week in London!
Aside from the beautiful English countryside, we truly enjoyed the overall experience. Our guide Andy was a wonderful addition and provided awesome history and prompt transportation! I really didn’t know much about Stonehenge and surprisingly found it so very interesting. I will continue researching the trip and really appreciated Andy’s knowledge of the relevance to England and the overall area. Bath was beautiful and an interesting place of architecture and people watching. Although we didn’t go to the Roman Bath - I think it would be good to do so. Having been to Rome a few years ago - it was interesting to see the buildings there in Bath as well. The Royal Crescent was beautiful too. And our weather was spectacular all week - and on our tour - it was perfect too. Lastly - the Cotswold was the main reason I booked the trip and it was lovely - as was the neighboring villages and hamlets. Once again - Andy didn’t disappoint with his knowledge and enthusiasm. In the end - the trip itself was the best - but without Andy - wouldn’t have been near as interesting. Love the small group and the ability to interact as desired. I highly recommend taking this tour !

      A must-do tour!
Loved this small group tour! Highly recommend. Comfortable bus, interesting stops, plenty of time at the stops and lots of fun. Cliffs of Dover were beautiful and loved Canterbury. Andy was very knowledgeable, funny and an excellent driver. His two assistants made the tour even better than it already was! We were serenaded and the little Scottish boy gave even gave us all a chocolate marshmallow cookie at the end ! 🤣

Great tour, informative, fun and never felt rushed
Cotswold, Oxford and Straton Upon Avon with Lucy Crane. First, I must say, Lucy is wonderful. We absolutely loved her. She was fun, friendly, had tons of information to share with us. History, suggested spots to visit, little things to notice along the way, etc. She made this tour so fun and informative. We never felt rushed. Really highly recommend your tour.

      Wonderful experience!
My family and I chose The English Bus over the larger tour companies and we are so glad we did. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour! Andy and Tom were fantastic tour guides and very knowledgeable. They made us feel so welcome and it was fun chatting with them. We will definitely recommend them and look forward to booking more tours with The English Bus. Cheers!

      Well organised and smooth sailing
In spite of the weather the trip went smoothly. The guide Andy was extremely informative, friendly and made sure everyone was comfortable. There were many scenic stopovers. It was great to have free time to explore Oxford. It would have been great to stop the bus twice through the Cotswold area for a quick photo opportunity. Otherwise well worth doing.

      Highly Recommended
My family took two different English Bus tours during our time in London and they were the highlight of our trip. Both Tony and Chris were very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We learned many things we wouldn’t have if we would have opted to tour on our own. The small, comfortable busses allowed us to travel down beautiful, narrow roads that a larger bus wouldn’t have been able to navigate. The smaller group size prevented us from feeling like we were swarming some of the more isolated destinations.

      Enjoyable and well-planned
Tony was our tour guide and driver for the day and he was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and a great host overall. The day was very well planned out and we were able to enjoy each stop at our own pace without feeling rushed. The van was brand new- clean and comfortable. Tony purchased the Stonehenge tickets and we reimbursed him at the site (easy to pay using a card). In Bath, he was able to give us a time frame and recommended buying timed entry tickets to the museum online. We did this on the bus without a problem and were able to get right in and avoid lines. The time in the Cotswolds village was very short, so if you are looking to spend more time there, look at one of their Cottswolds tours where you can see more of the region. I highly recommend The English Bus tour company and will definitely book with them if we ever visit England again.

Fun All Day Trip Full of Fascinating Facts and Beautiful Scenery
The tour we took to see William Shakespeare’s birthplace lasted 12 hours, and I didn’t mind it! My husband and our daughter went to see the Harry Potter play in West End while our son and I took a tour aboard The English Bus. At Shakespeare’s birthplace, we saw a sign for Shakesbeer, looked through the window of the ShakesPaw Cat Cafe, and took lots of pics of the Bard’s old stomping grounds. Our awesome tour guide Lucy was full of excellent facts, intriguing stories, and important history. We learned that Shakespeare was 18 when he married Anne Hathaway (no relation to Ella Enchanted) who was 26. His cause of death has never been determined, but one of the many theories (besides murder) is that he passed away from a bad hangover on the traditional date of his birthday in 1616. In chatting with some vendors in Stratford-upon-Avon, it’s obvious they don’t believe Christopher Marlowe penned any of Shakespeare’s works. Fascinating tour. Everything I learned in my high school AP Literature class came right back to me. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Tudor, Victorian, and even Renaissance and Gothic elements in the architecture throughout the quaint town. There’s so much interest and detail in their designs. Our tour also ventured into the Cotswolds. Apparently, wolds means rolling hills and cots means sheep. My son and I took advantage of a photo op with a hollowed out tree trunk. We also may or may not have been a few minutes late meeting our tour group due to a not needed, but much wanted duck selfie. Our tour of Oxford and its campuses and libraries was very eye opening. If you read a book a day from the Bodleian Library, it would take you 600 lifetimes to get through the entire collection! We also saw a street lamp and an ornate door which may have been the inspiration for CS Lewis’ “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” So grateful to have had this time with my boy. Thanks, tour guide Lucy, thanks to the hubby for all of our trip planning, and thank you, Lord, for all these blessings!

My wife and I have only the highest ratings for our trip March 2, 2020, with the English Bus small group tour. Our guide Johny was a literal encyclopedia of information on everything from English history to the origins of Stonehenge to recent cultural events of the area. On top of the tremendous width and depth of his knowledge, his delivery was entertaining-indeed humorous. The English bus is a very comfortable Sprinter Van with all the comforts one could want while enjoying a small group relaxed atmosphere—as opposed to moving around in a large herd. Unlike many tours, the English Bus company allows food and beverages onboard so guests can snack while seeing the sights. There were several opportunities to get out and walk if we liked and also to spend time away from the group if we wanted to do something a bit different than others in the group. If we are ever here again, we will definitely book another tour with the English Bus. Steven and Virginia Amstrup

We just got back from our tour with guide Colin to Stonehenge, Bath, and a Secret Place. We picked The English Bus because we wanted a smaller, more intimate tour and we’d read so many rave reviews. I am so glad we made this decision. We had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! Colin was nice, shared great info throughout the trip, and really made it twice the fun. The bus (Arthur) was very comfortable for the long day we had. Colin was happy to help snap a photo at each stop for us, and took everyone on a little walking tour in Bath with extra info and recommendations of what to see. The sights themselves are great of course, and you have plenty of time to explore each stop before moving on. Plenty of bathroom and snack stop opportunities as well. Won’t spoil the secret place, but for me it was absolutely wonderful and such fun to cap off the day with. This full day tour was the highlight of our trip to London so far. Would absolutely do another tour with them and would encourage others to book with them! 10 stars all around!!

We did a lot of research on what tour to take out to Stonehenge since it is such a long trip. Johny was very knowledgeable about Stonehenge and all the areas we stopped at during the tour. The tour is a long day but he made it fly by with his charming personality.
I recommend wearing comfortable shoes you don't mind getting dirty because that will determine which secret place you get to visit, weather permitting. We would recommend this tour to anyone that is looking for a comfortable ride, friendly driver and private luxury small group.

Andy was a fantastic guide and the tour was the perfect mix of information, sightseeing, conversation, and being left on our own to explore. At a full 12 hour day with 3 stops and such a great guide it was well worth the price of admission. Andy almost never stopped telling us about England from the main attractions, to POIs we’re passing, to just explaining weird traffic signs. I don’t know how he keeps it up and keeps it interesting for a full day. The highest recommendation.

Hello! Thank you very much for your glowing review - wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your tour with the dashing and charming Andy so much. There is so much to talk about, we like to joke that we could do the 200+ mile tour route at walking speed and still have things to talk about that we can't squeeze in! Thank you very much for choosing to travel with us - we appreciate each and every guest. Best wishes, Jen & all of us at The English Bus

Andrew was an excellent driver and tour guide and he made us feel included when he did ice-breakers on the bus. He was knowledgeable and funny and helped us appreciate the different aspects of the tour to Stonehenge, Bath and the Secret Place. We loved that he shared stories, even personal ones, that made the time spent meaningful. It wasn't "just a tour" with a recording to listen to. The next time we make a trip to England, I'm going to check out other tours by The English Bus.
I hope despite the present global situation with the pandemic, you guys will stay strong, healthy and be able to ride the rough waves until better times. Thank you and God bless!

Hello! Thank you very much for your kind review - we are delighted that you enjoyed your tour with Andrew so much. As our groups are all small, we prioritise making everyone feel included - our tours are very much interactive and involving and we want to create an atmosphere that makes people feel like they are on a day out with old friends - rather than new friends and acquaintances! The global situation has got significantly worse since you wrote this sadly - but to those reading we will ride this our, however long it takes, and we will be back to deliver amazing and memorable tours again as soon as we can. Thanks again and best wishes to you and your family, Jen

The tour was fantastic as was our guide Andy. Andy was funny and knowledgeable and we learned a lot on our way to Stonehenge and Bath. We felt like we had enough time at both locations - I definitely recommend doing the Roman Bath Museum – otherwise you don’t get to see the actual baths (and they were really cool). The secret stop was super fun (and because it is secret – there weren’t really any crowds there which made it even better). We enjoyed the smaller tour bus – it was very comfortable. The tour is a little pricey compared to others, but we definitely think it was worth it!

While we wanted the majority of our trip to focus on touring London, I was interested in seeing the English countryside/getting out of the city. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and it was one of our favorite days of our trip. I highly recommend The English Bus and thank Andy, our driver and tour guide, for such a wonderful day.
Andy is polite, kind, well-spoken, and highly knowledgeable about English history and culture. Although the tour is a long 9 hour day, we were never bored because Andy spoke the entire time (except for on the ride home, when it was nighttime and dark outside).
The tour allows for the perfect amount of time at Stonehenge, enough time to leisurely enjoy the stones, visit the small museum and gift shop, and have a quick snack. I recommend having a scone or snack at the Stonehenge cafe, because we did not eat in Bath until about 2pm.
I thoroughly enjoyed the ride from Stonehenge to Bath. The English countryside was idyllic and beautiful and we were able to have a great view from the bus windows. The tour bus is a Mercedes bus with a glass ceiling and huge, surrounding windows, so your view is not obstructed at all. The bus is also very comfortable and has storage space for jackets/bags. The ride through the countryside was my favorite part of the tour. We had perfect weather (cool and sunny) which probably contributed to my enjoyment of this part of the tour.
We did not feel rushed in Bath and enjoyed our time there. The tour allows for just enough time to walk around part of the city, view the most important architecture, have a meal, and visit local shops. The secret place afterwards was also a fun way to end the day.

We highly recommend this tour! It was very refreshing and relaxing to get out of the city and off of your feet for a day. Because of Andy's tour, we certainly learned a lot about modern English culture, history, architecture, etc.

Our family took this tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. First, let me say Andrew our guide/driver was hysterical. He made us laugh and gave lots of info about London, the UK, and of course Stonehenge and Bath. Second, this is an all day tour that lasts around 10 hours and would probably not be a good idea for very young children. My kids are 11 and 16 and said this tour was the best part of our entire vacation. This is a small group tour and our group only had 12 people so it’s kinda like a private tour! The small bus picked us up in London and made sure we were comfortable. We stopped for bio breaks and snacks along the way. Once we arrived at Stonehenge, Andrew guided us to the site and then gave us plenty of time to sightsee on our own. From there we went to Bath and had several hours to eat lunch and explore the city. Bath is possibly the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen! To quote my 11 year old, this tour was “the best of the best of the best”. Do yourself a favor and make time for this tour.

To hear that your kids thought it was the best part of their entire vacation is probably the highest praise we could wish for - kids can be a tough audience - but we are lucky that as our groups are small we can tailor each and every tour to our audiences, but feedback from an 11 year old saying it was the "best of the best of the best" is unbeatable. Thanks for putting big smiles on our faces! Best wishes, Chris & all of us at The English Bus

Our guided trip to Stonehenge, Bath, and a secret place was fantastic. On a previous trip to the UK, we booked a tour of London with a different small company. We thought they were pretty good, but the English Bus are simply playing in a different league altogether.

The first thing that jumps out at you is how nice and comfortable the bus is itself. This isn't a repurposed public transit bus or school bus. The seats are fully adjustable and even after being on the bus for several hours I never had any aches and pains. There is individual climate control for each seat and the bus has great panoramic windows. The sound system on the bus also ensures that you can actually hear what the guide was saying.

The star of the day was our tour guide Andy. I was impressed immediately when he gave us facts about and descriptions of the different roads, buildings, and boroughs that we passed on our way out of the city. He was very personable and funny and engaged with all of us guests on a personal level.

As the day went on Andy continued to impress us with his knowledge of the history of England and how that related to what we were visiting. I feel like I actually learned something today, which I honestly wasn't expecting.

At the end of the night Andy made sure that all the guests were dropped off at places convenient to getting home. I can't imaging any other company ever taking that kind of care and attention to its customers. It was truly exceptional.

Beyond the tour itself, I want to say that the English Bus has been a joy to work with. Our trip with them was originally scheduled for May of 2020. Obviously, the pandemic interfered with that, but Chris and Jen at the English Bus worked with me to reschedule with no problem. Not just once but several times. Our trip went from May 2020 to October 2020 to May 2021 and finally to October 2021. Every single time I dealt with rescheduling they were understanding and worked with me. I can't begin to say how much I appreciate that. It certainly wasn't true of other companies that I dealt with during the pandemic.

This is a great company that offers a great service. Small, personable guided tours of the English countryside that you just couldn't get with anyone else. I highly recommend booking with them.

Hi Matt, Thank you so much for your wonderful review - after the last 18 months the travel and tourism industry has been through it makes a huge difference to us reading, again, how much our guests have been enjoying our small group tours. Andy is a fantastic guide who we have had the pleasure of working with for many years now and he certainly delivers an amazing unforgettable tour experience. To hear that you consider us to be playing in a "different league altogether" is superb, and makes us very proud of the job we do and the hard work we put in to get there. Delighted that you liked our tour vehicle - we have them specially built from new for us and we specify all the interior ourselves to maximise guest comfort. It was heart-breaking to see them sat there during the covid lockdowns but it is very exciting to be back on the road now - we love what we do and I think that shows in the services that we deliver. Also very happy to have been flexible with your arrangements. We understand that the pandemic has ruined so many people's travel plans so we are only too happy to help guests rearrange however many times they need. Thanks again for your kind words - we hope that you enjoy the rest of your time in London and we hope to see you again one day on one of our other tours. All the best, Chris & all of us at The English Bus

We booked this day tour upon recommendation from my parents, and I'm so glad we did as it ended up being our favorite of our entire Europe trip. Our tour guide was Lilly, who was so incredibly insightful, funny, helpful, and kind. She did a fantastic job of providing facts and info about each stop and giving recommendations, while also allowing all guests time to wander and explore on their own. I can't recommend this company enough if you're spending any amount of time in London - it was the best!
