We went on the Thames Rocket High Speed 50 minute Cruise today and it was brilliant. Two adults a teen and a 10 year old, who got off and asked if she could go on again.
The journey was compared by Joey, who was extremely funny, knowledgable and great fun, Nathan skippered the boat extremely well and we felt very safe at all times even at high speed.
This experience is a must and a great way to see London and take in some of it’s most famous landmarks from a different view point.
It can be very windy so I definitely recommend a wind proof coat/ jacket but don’t worry if you don’t have one, ask the guys on the pier and they have some that they can lend you.
We will definitely do this again next time we visit London, we’ll done Thames Rocket, brilliant experience, brilliant staff, nothing was too much trouble.

The experience was bought for my birthday in January 2022. We booked it in May to go with a concert we were seeing in London the day before. Wow! It was an amazing end to our weekend. Our guide was Geoff (with a G!) and Brad was the 'driver'. We cruised up gently, with Geoff making it relaxing, funny and informative, even getting the whole boat to sing happy birthday to me, Lauren and Adam who also had birthdays. Geoff was hilarious and took photos of us, leaving some very funny selfies on my phone as a homecoming surprise! When the boat took off, it was really fast and a really adrenalin thrill - jumps up and down and tips from side to side - not for the fainthearted! They also played the Bond theme which was really cool. I would do it again - combines thrill and fun with a genuine fear factor (in a good way) We all got back safely. (life jackets are provided with safety talk)

This was an impulse purchase when we arrived in London, and we were lucky to catch a reduced price in the January sale. Their website was easy to use and we had no issues making the booking; although I noticed they have a sections in their TOCs that suggests if they trip is underbooked that they will shunt you to another time. I wish this explains whether you have to accept this or they will issue you a refund as we only had a limited time that we were in this area. In the end, as this was a Saturday, we figured that they were likely to run,

Bill was our guide and he was very good. He did a great tour presentation and we really enjoyed it.

We really liked the tour and the speed part. We were provided with cagoules by the staff but there was very little spray and I wouldn't worry about getting wet as long as you actually stay in the boat.

I would recommend the tour, particularly at the reduced January price. You get a 20% off code after you've done the tour too if you are likely to be back.

We took our 2 x 7 year olds on the 50 minute trip this morning using vouchers given to us for Virgin experiences and I'm so pleased we chose to use them on this.
I've been recommending it to my friends since leaving the boat. It's so well organised, from checking in, to giving out life jackets and the safety instructions.
Our guide Max really knew his stuff and when the speed kicked in, our skipper Mike drove the boat to the music making it a really exhilarating experience.
We didn't get wet which I was concerned about but one of my little ones did find it cold on his face so I'd take a gaiter next time just for a heads up to anyone else.
All 4 of us can't wait to do it again. We will be back.

My partner booked this as a surprise for my birthday and it exceeded both our expectations!
We had James as our guide and John as the skipper and they were both fantastic. James was incredibly enthusiastic and had a wealth of knowledge about the sights along the Thames. He seemed to genuinely love sharing these facts and despite both being Londoners we learnt loads of interesting new trivia. The high speed part of the boat was brilliant too and the whole experience felt like a long time and good value for money.

What a fantastic experience! We were in London celebrating our 20 year anniversary and had booked this instead of a river "cruise" and we are so glad that we did. We got a whistle stop tour of the sights up and down the Thames and a high speed adrenaline rush ride at the same time. Hats off to the crew - Richard who gave us a rollercoaster ride at high speed and Geoff, who looked after us all, made us laugh, was informative, chatty, funny, welcoming and made us feel special. The weather was awful, the rain at one point was stinging my face as we went speeding down the Thames and after we got off it felt like I had been in the Thames instead of on it but it didn't make any difference to how enjoyable the whole experience was, we absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone. We will be going to London next year for another theatre trip with friends and we will be making sure to factor in another speed boat ride with friends in tow.

This experience was simply amazing. Certainly a must if you're visiting London. I've lived in London most of my life and class myself as a bit of a London Historical Geek but I learned so much about the sights along the River Thames from our fantastic and fascinating tour guide ED. He was superb, funny and knowledgeable and felt like I'd known him for years. The High-speed section of the Thames was breathtaking, fun and exhilerating and was accompanied perfectly by a great music soundtrack. Phil was our pilot and felt very at ease with him piloting the Rib through the choppy sections of the River. We didn't want this to end and will definitely be doing this again. On completing the trip you get a 20% discount on a future booking and I've already booked my next trip. Thank you Thames Rockets

Had this booked for a few months, and ended up being the lying in state weekend for the queen, I wanted to check it was still running, and where it leaves from etc, they were amazingly quick to respond on Facebook messenger.

The pier around the London eye is actually like a one way system, so you enter on the right hand side of the wheel, make your way down where is sign posted to Thames rockets.

I had my nephew who is 8, the safety briefing was good, and he understood everything expected of him.

We got on the boat where they give just a few more point of H&S, then play music as you make your way up the Thames!

Then for the real point, after tower bridge they open her up, and it was fantastic, still to music it was fantastic. I wouldn’t say my nephew is particularly brave, and he just thought it was excellent throughout!

On the way back we had (I think her name was) Stacey, the tour guide, a good mix of humour and facts made it enjoyable on the way back as well.

Overall I would actually say it was fantastic value for money, although when I booked it felt quite expensive for what it was! I would recommend to everybody!

The only downside is the blue light discount can only be used on off-peak boat times e.g early morning or late afternoon, which is a shame, and we wanted a specific time so didn’t get any discount!

We booked a 4pm slot for 4 of us (me, husband and two kids aged 11 and 13) and we all loved the experience. All credit to Bill and Simon who took us out in what turned in to torrential rain and hail storm. Very knowledgeable and entertaining throughout! The weather didn’t spoil it, seeing the bridges and buildings lit up as darkness fell was another highlight. Would recommend to anyone!!

Some "experiences" leave you feeling distinctly underwhelmed... Not this Thames Rockets experience though! Our crew, Bill and Mark, were great fun and Bill regaled us with little-known facts about the places we passed on the "slow speed" part of the trip. Once past Tower Bridge the throttles were opened up and Mark had twisting and turning into the wake of other boats, leaving us airborne for maybe three seconds before crashing back into the water for a repeat performance! Felt completely safe the whole time, and would absolutely recommend this as an alternative to the more sedate alternatives...
