Great tour! Many experiences packed into one.
Bruce was a great guide and Koli was a wonderful driver. We were able to see so many different things it’s hard to remember it was all one day and one tour. Bruce was very engaging and funny, but kept everyone on a strict timeline so we didn’t have to miss anything.

Horrible trip to Winston castle, stone henge and bath
Trip was on time wherever we went. Our tour guide were Oliver and elvio they were good but had few issues with the whole trip. The time given at destinations were not enough for them to visit. Like Windsor castle we had only 1.5 hours. From the bus parking to the castle it took 20 min to reach and again 20 min to go back so practically we had hardly 30 min at the Windsor castle area. We didn’t even at the opportunity to go inside the castle as we reached at 4:30 Pm and the castle closes at 5:00. If you guys know that the castle has closing time then this place should have been visited first and given more time. Also as per the itinerary given Windsor Easter was to be visited first. Trip was to be ended by 8:00 PM but we were rushed so much that the trip got over by 6:30 PM. Waste of money.

    Perfect experience
The experience is very good! Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon are beautiful! The tour guild Danxia was excellent! She informed everything clearly, such as the notice of eating on bus, the way from the drop off point to everyone’s residency, where is the restroom we could use (free or with payment), and she gave good suggestions about what to do in our free time or what to eat for lunch. In addition, she told lots of stories about the attractions. She spoke bilingual (English and Mandarin) very fluently and clearly. She cared for the need of everyone, and managed everything very well. The diver Ashley drove very smoothly.

    Great
I’m fully satisfied about this tour. Danxia has just been a wonderful guide, she explained so many things, she anticipated all questions and gave great recommendations. I didn’t buy entrance tickets, but she gave me great options to spend my time elsewhere. Ashley was our driver and he was just perfect as well. I think the tour was very well organised, a few stops for the fair amount of time needed. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Rude and unhelpful staff
Dreadful customer service when we wanted some help. Could not have been less helpful. Our taxi was stuck in traffic and we asked to check if we could move to another tour just in case. The rudeness of the person we spoke to was quite unbelievable for someone in the customer service industry. We didn’t purposely ask to be stuck in traffic and be potentially late for our tour. No sympathy, empathy or help in any way. Rude. We didn’t go on your tour as we then read your reviews after such a shocking phone call. Bridgts afternoon tea bus was fabulous. Chose that over Golden tours any day!!

Make sure they're taking you back where you started
Tour guide and driver were nice, I only have one complaint and it's a deal breaker. The tour left from Victoria Station, but dropped us off at a station two miles away so the driver didn't have to go back through the city to get back to the depot. I think this was pretty crappy, and crappy enough that I will never book them again.

    Worth the money
My wife and I had a visit to York as part of our Coach Tour from Cornwall and we only had about 3 hrs so we decided the best plan was to take a Golden Tour. It turned out to be the best course as we saw a lot of the main features of the City in comfort and had a very interesting and entertaining commentary from Keith our guide.

When I received the booking confirmation I was given timings for the trains and entrance in the email, however when I received the tickets these were different and it created a lot of confusion, and I went to the station one hour earlier to make sure and be able to ask someone at the Paddington office. By the way, there the staff told me the train was direct but there was actually a change (not a huge problem per se, but it seems like an important detail).
Once at Windsor, I was told I had to print the ticket to enter: I didn't see this clarified in the email I received...I guess I wasn't the only one because I was kindly directed to the local print shop by Windsor staff, and the person at the shop said that happens all the time.
I normally like to book my own trips but this time I decided to go with something organised to relax a little and enjoy a stress free trip...quite the opposite! Also, there is nothing really to organise because there is no one to guide you, you'd be much better off doing your own booking and reservation. Maybe you'll save a little or maybe not, but at least you'll be in control of your own day. Thanks but no thanks.

We were aware that this was an "unescorted" tour. The bus driver had a monotone voice. He could not be heard over the loud A/C system. When we shouted we couldn't hear him, he ignored us. Bus was parked at the base of Windsor. He walked us to the bottom of the castle. Then he said, "be back to the bus by 5:00." Many of us got LOST on the return. More explicit directions to the bus would have helped. We were certainly on our own. I would have enjoyed hearing some Windsor history from a guide on the bus. Bus drivers are NOT tour guides. I've taken many Golden tours. This was certainly not a favorite.

How would you feel about spending more than an hour on a tightly packed bus without a working ventilation system? You know we still have COVID concerns right? Pilots make a pre flight check and so should drivers.

Is the driver a tour guide? He never stopped talking and never gave us the VR code to use the very interesting and no doubt expensive video system at each seat.

We were instructed to cue in one place and then we were moved. We arrived early so we could get a good seat. Instead we were in the back of a hot stuffy bus. Poor start.

The driver emphasized to be back on time. But I had to ask what time.

A great half day tour to Windsor Castle! The bus ride was very comfortable and our driver Jim was awesome, getting us there and back safely with good narrative along the way.
He did a great job getting us through to the start of the self guided tour and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the tour before we had to return to the bus!
Would definitely recommend!!!

Jimm did a great job occupying our time during the long trip through traffic from London to Windsor. He had a great knowledge of history and folklore! He had great suggestions on where to go and what to do. Windsor castle was beautiful and well worth the traffic! Thank you Golden Tours and Jim

Windsor castle was our first tour when we arrived in London and we could not have chosen a better one. The castle is breathtaking, enormous and because we got to enter the staterooms, we really got the feel of what it would be like to live there. The highlight was getting to see the burial site of Queen Elizabeth, her parents & sister and Prince Phillip. Shout out to our awesome bus driver Armando ... he was great!

If you can figure out how to get to Windsor Castle on your own, do it. The bus was great, the driver was entertaining and gave us a lot of info on where we were, what we were seeing, history, etc… He gave us good directions on how to get back to the bus. We thought the castle staff were friendly. But…it was not enough time. All queue’s for audio devices, the dollhouse and chapel were very, very long. We had to skip all that, afraid we would miss the bus.
On the way back to London the driver, who obviously had a disdain for King Charles, Camilla, Harry and Meagan, started talking very negative about the RF, London’s economy and some other subjects unrelated to the tour and it was rather depressing. Then we were dropped off in a different place than where we had originally boarded the bus. I felt bad for some of the people who had no idea where they were or how to get back to their hotel.
But I’m glad we went because the castle and grounds and what we did see inside was beautiful.

Our driver Armando made the drive to Windsor and back to London interesting with the sights he pointed out and his tidbits of the history surrounding the points of interest. The tour and walk thru Windsor Castle were amazing, beautiful and educational. It was well worth using Golden Tours UK and how they take the stress out of having to find transport out there! Hope you get the pleasure of having Armando as your driver! Thanks for making my solo travel status easy and enjoyable.

We enjoyed this immensely and had an excellent driver/guide in Armando. I say that because he kept us entertained and pointed places of interest on the drive: and was very supportive with advice of what to do and how to do it at the castle. His order of what to visit at Windsor Castle was time effective and correct. Additionally walking us to the front of the line was also a bonus. The castle itself is fascinating and the chapel was something we will never forget.

We booked a lot through golden tours, most of which isn’t worth anything. We booked a trip to Windsor, with entry. We get on the bus, drive to Windsor and are just dropped off with a wristband. I asked about tickets and the driver had no idea

Got to ticket counter and they said that the wristband didn’t include entrance.

So we had to pay 60 more pounds to enter.

Worthless tour company. Truly worthless.

Look elsewhere
