Canceled on us - bad itinerary anyway
Oct 2021
Do NOT book this tour if you want to be sure you're on a tour that will run. Despite gimmicks on booking website that it is "likely to sell out" or something similar, we booked this tour for two people and the tour was canceled just two days before it was set to run. There we were, stuck in a foreign country with limited internet now without a tour. Unfortunately, no other companies were running similar tours that day. When you base your vacation around pre-planned tours, they really need to run, or you are totally stuck. I highly recommend Rabbie's tours and the London Bus. We took other tours with them. Despite only having 3 and 10 people on the trips, respectively, the both ran as they guarantee that they will. The 3 person tour was a 3-day tour in Scotland where they clearly were losing money by running it, but they stuck to their guarantee and did. So if you want a tour that will definitely run, book Rabbie's or the London Bus, both of which are small businesses who work hard for their business.

Regarding the itinerary, we would up renting a car and attempting to replicate the tour. What we found is that this tour has too many items. The Evan Evans tour only visits Warwick castle for a little over an hour. When we were there, we spent over four hours there, including seeing the amazing birds of prey show (do not miss that). The entry fee which you will either have to pay for or pre-pay in the booking for is a lot--almost 30 pounds. There is so much to see there that for that price, you will want more time than going on this tour provides. There is no good way to replicate it with public transportation, but if you are willing, rent a car and do this on your own. Or better yet, choose a better tour company that has maybe 2 or 3 of these places so that you can spend more time there. If you have a lot of time in the London area, make Warwick castle it's own full day. You can take a train there, get there at opening, and enjoy all that is offered. You can no doubt fill a whole day at the castle and the surrounding village.

In short, do not book this tour. Evan Evans does not have a guarantee it will run, and even if they hadn't canceled on us, we realized after the fact that the itinerary has too much on it and you need more time at Warwick castle.

Dear Guest, First of all thank you very much for providing us with your feedback and taking the time to leave us a review. We take all reviews, either positive or negative, very seriously and use them to formulate our strategy for years to come. We are incredibly sorry that we were unable to operate the tour to Warwick, Stratford and Oxford on your original booking date. As I’m sure you know, the travel industry is under a lot of pressure, and with very few international tourists visiting we’re not always able to operate every tour date. When this happens, we give as much notice as possible, which is usually several days in advance of the departure date, and we offer guests the option to travel with us on the next available tour date, to switch to another tour, or a full refund. We are sorry to hear that you did not want to go with the alternatives that were offered. You should have received a full refund along with our apologies, however if you do have any further questions or concerns then please call (02079501777) or email us (reservations@evanevanstours.co.uk). Best wishes, Evan Evans Team

An Excellent Tour on a Cold and Rainy Day
Feb 2020
Warwick Castle, Stratford upon Avon, the Cotswolds, and Oxford. This tour was so memorable! Our guide, Sheila, was so knowledgeable and pleasant. She made the drive go quickly because she gave information on the areas as we were going to each location. Then she prepared us for what we would be touring before we arrived. We could just enjoy the sites because we knew the best places to see and the history of each. We were very clearly given the time for each stop and it worked out well. Our bus driver, Joe, drove carefully and got us back to London in good time. Sheila checked with all the tour members to see where we were staying in London and found us the best drop-off locations. That was much appreciated on a cold and rainy day!

Oxford, Stratford-upon Avon & Warwick Castle
Aug 2019
Loved Oxford, highly recommend. Stratford-upon Avon, very lovely, enjoyed every moment I was there. Warwick Castle, a little freaky at first because they have Madame Thousseau like wax characters in every room (to make everything seem more realistic). Once you get used to these very life like wax humans acting as if they are going about their day, it's pretty cool. It really give you an idea of what life was like for the family that lived in the house back in the day. Highly recommend .

Great Way to See Spread Out Sites
Apr 2019
I really enjoyed this tour. My mother and I were traveling around London, and knew we really wanted to see Oxford, the Cotswolds, and Stratford-upon-Avon. Unfortunately, it's difficult to get to all these places from London on your own. This tour was a great solution. The tour guides were knowledgable and the stops were lengthy enough to be meaningful but not so long you were bored. We got ample free time, and the bus was clean and comfortable. Would recommend!

Evan Evans Bus Tour Warwick Castle, Shakespeare's Engliand, Oxford, and the Cotswolds
Dec 2019
We really liked our tour guide Rys ( I hope it's Rys, it's the December 27th 2019 tour), and I am really only reviewing this tour because he did such a great job highlighting the attractions. He was super funny, and constantly putting in a couple of really practical facts related to the attractions.

I find it easy to book the Evan Evans tour on their website, but you do have to remember to confirm it again once you receive the initial confirmation; otherwise, you are not truly confirmed. The gate information is provided not after your initial registration, but at the time of your reconfirmation, and I did the reconfirmation basically by replying to their initial email confirmation, and stated that we were attending the tour.
And the Victoria's Coach Station is still a 10-15 min walk from Victoria Train Station, do account for the time to walk to the Coach station if you are getting off at Victoria Train station. There is a paid toilet to use inside Victoria Coach Station, not far from the Evan Evans' gate, 20 pence I remember per person per use.

I think the tour idea was great, that we could visit so many places in one day; however, it was not a wise thing to do. We were unable to tour any attractions leisurely, it was very rushed. The bus is on time, arriving and leaving. Rys is great in giving a returned time, and we followed the time carefully.

Warwick Castle: We bought the tickets on our own at the castle entrance, less expensive than purchasing it with Evan Evans, and no line in getting the tickets either. We purchased the tickets and caught up to our tour group immediately.
Maybe it's because it's winter time, and there is usually shorter line? I am not sure. But I have a feeling that the Warwick tickets one purchases with Evan Evans include ice skating? There was definitely no time for skating, so we were glad that we didn't purchase the tickets with Evan Evans.

If you have young kids, go to the maze first and then tour the rest later. My children had fun running and getting stamps on various stations inside the maze. It's well designed and fun even for my teenagers, and it's got a cute obstacle course. And there is an area for fresh drinking water near the entrance of the castle ground, so bring a refillable water bottle.

Cotswolds was literally a drive through in less than 5 minutes, and the road that we took, that part of Cotswold, the scenery was ordinary. We were surprised and disappointed that there was no stop at Cotswolds.

Stratford-Upon-Avon: By this time, our younger children were hungry. With approximately one hour to tour Shakespeare's birth place, we chose to have lunch instead of touring inside the birthplace of Shakespeare. We did; however, take pictures from outside of Shakespeare's birth place. The hour we had was perfect for a sit down lunch and restroom break.

Oxford: Rys did a walking tour, and that was to me the highlight of this bus tour. Rys gave us funny facts, and entertaining historical accounts of the buildings and history, I personally enjoyed this walking tour. We did have a super hard time finding a restroom, the department store where Rys recommended us to go for restroom break was due for repair and wasn't open to public, and we ended up spending a good rest of the tour in Oxford looking for a restroom. We eventually found one inside a coffee shop.

Souvenir: We just didn't have time to even shop for anything to buy.

Return: Rys was great in finding out where we were heading after the tour. He actually took some of us to the closest tube station, and that was super helpful, since we were hoping to make it to our Harry Potter Musical at Palace Theater at 7:30. We actually were about an hour early and were able to catch some dinner prior to the performance.

Overall the tour was enjoyable and entertaining. The bus was comfortable and the ride was smooth. I would; however, opt for bus tours with maybe 1 or 2 attractions only, so we can spend more time touring each attraction.
It was great to have Rys as our tour guide, and we hope to tour with him again in the future.
