About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 2mcs0 contributionsHighly recommendHad an amazing day ... Mark our driver was great, funny and informative. Scenery was beautiful and the 6 of us truly enjoyed this day trip from Liverpool.Written September 17, 2024
- kimmX8342SC0 contributionsA brilliant dayAn amazing full day with our mini bus driver, Jerry. The views and sights were spectacular. Jerry was fantastic, providing just the right amount of information/back story. Make sure you buy some of Sarah Nelson's gingerbread. The walk/hike around the tarn was beautiful, albeit exercise. I highly recommend this day trip/tour.Written September 16, 2024
- Magic57570 contributionsA Great Day in the LakesMy daughter and I caught the small bus from Chester. It was really comfortable. Gerry the driver was brilliant!!! He told a good story and was very accommodating. It was a well thought out and varied itinerary and the views were fantastic. We loved every minute. The only disappointment was that we didn’t buy more gingerbread!Written September 15, 2024
- bradlZ5654DZ0 contributions** DO NOT BOOK******Do not take this excursion unless you want to miss your ship***. Peter assured the group of 30+ guests aboard the motor coach that we would return an hour before our ship departed at 5:00 pm. My partner and I were stressed beyond belief as we pulled up the GPS after our last planned stop. We were praying that no accidents impeded our rush hour traffic and luckily we pulled into port at 4:58 pm. Yes, weather was cold and rainy, however, it did not play a factor in our delay back. It was due to poor planning and total disregard to the passengers that included babies and elderly. Props to our driver James for great driving.Written September 13, 2024
- S9633OAjulial0 contributionsBeautiful, extensive, guided Lake District tour in a mini-bus.Excellent guided tour in a mini-bus with multiple stops in the Lake District including the hamlet of Grasmere and Lake Windemere - full day trip from 9 am to 630 pm with live narration by an excellent driver/guide.Written September 9, 2024

- wendysC2094XR0 contributionsNORTH WALES FROM HOLYHEADTour of North Wales from Holyhead port. This was a great tour with Frank our Guide and Keiran our driver. We were on a Princess Cruise round the British Isles. The coach met us after we were tendered to the port and we had an excellent tour of North Wales. We would certainly recommend this company for the future.Written September 5, 2024
- fr0gandt0 contributionsCruise Excursion was Canceled on Short NoticeOur July 2024 cruise was the vacation of a lifetime for my family which we spent many hours carefully planning beforehand. Unfortunately, our cruise excursion to Chester was canceled with less than 24 hours notice. Thankfully the day before was not a sea day, so I was able to check my email in Belfast and learned of the cancelation. BusyBus did offer an alternative tour to North Wales, but we had already made plans to meet up with friends in Chester. I was able to scramble to make alternative (and more expensive) arrangements for us to visit Chester through the cruise line (we were fortunate that their excursion had not sold out). To their credit, BusyBus gave us a fast refund. Emergencies happen, but I wish I had read other reviews before booking this excursion because after visiting Tripadvisor, I see that our predicament was not an isolated incident. If you book this excursion, I suggest that you purchase an internet plan so you can check your email and also that you have a "plan B" at the ready.Written August 8, 2024
- billw5900 contributionsRomans vs BeatlesUnless you're making a Beatles pilgrimage, this trip to Chester is probably far more interesting. It was a small group tour (~12). Our guide was personable, engaging and informative. During the walking portion of the tour, most of the group split off on their own and we had the guide to ourselves. We were shown the Roman garden, amphitheater, and walls. There was ample time for individual exploration, to get a bite and quaff a pint or two. Interestingly, there's a Hickory's Smokehouse that seems to be a very legit BBQ even by US standards. (I didn't have the appetite to order a meal, but it looks and smells authentic.) - lynnann690 contributionsWonderful time on the Busy Bus!We ALWAYS use BusyBus! A great company who is super responsive to messages or questions. A cruise change of itinerary was handled effortlessly by the team...especially Adrian who ended up being our guide for Edinburgh, Scotland. I arranged the 16 passenger bus and he kept us entertained and informed throughout! Great company. Great guide. NEVER a worry we would miss the ship! This was the 16 person pre purchased bus that went from Edinburgh Cruise terminal to Edinburgh Castle and the Kelpies, etcWritten July 31, 2024

- Mikeydodo840 contributionsAwesomeOur tour guide completely and utterly made this tour. Jerry was awesome and attentive he told us the story of Sarah Nelson and that her bakery with her tasty treats was next to William Wordsworth’s grave. We had a roughly 20 minute walk across the mountain which had stunning views.Written July 21, 2024
- Frances57900 contributionsVery disappointing response from BusyBus ManagementJust a follow up to the response from Team BusyBus' Guest Relations Manager, to our reviews of the North Wales 16 seater bus trip from Chester ....which was in a nearly full approx 44 seat bus in June 2024. Very disappointing to read false information from the Manager in his response to our reviews. Yes a half refund was requested due to not being taken on the advertised 16 seater (on some websites we have noticed that this 16 seater is now not advertised from Chester, since our tour date). Another paid tour was offered but sadly not practical as we were leaving Chester the next day, and soon after that, the UK. All that was really needed was an explanation prior to the trip of a 16 seater not being used, and an acknowledgement of the existing advertising of the 16 seater experience. We did not request colour of bus or particular seats!! or demand a refund or threaten with a poor review. Such false statements .... so disappointing to think a company would print such statements. Our disappointment was, that it wasn't what we booked, no contact made to explain and no acknowledgement from the company .....when they had actually advertised themselves having such great small bus experiences from Chester. Many people's reviews actually express this. Our guide Gerry was fantastic ..but he certainly had to work harder on a big coach to try and create 'community' in a large group which included approx 20 school students. Well done Gerry and driver! I know Gerry usually drives and guides on the 16 seater experience from Chester. Please know we valued your wonderful input on the day.Written June 20, 2024

We didn't even expect it to be so inspiring! our guide is the wonderful lady Shelly! she is the best) we saw and learned a lot of interesting and educational things, we liked absolutely everything, including the magical poems about the daffodil and the touching story about Beatrix Potter.. it was so sweet to remember the fairy tale about Peter Rabbit, the walk in the mountains was wonderful, we were lucky with the weather and we just gasped at such dazzling beauty.. thanks from Gordon and NataliaWritten June 19, 2024

Bus had no air conditioning during a heatwave, wish we had been informed as a member of our party has a medical condition which made this very difficult. I cannot express how horribly hot this was. While we cannot say forsure we are fairly certain this is where we picked up covid, was not helped by the windows constantly being put up and no air con or flowing air at all. Trapping everyone together with no air flow! You are at the mercy of their booking system... if people book in Chester/ Manchester you will spend hours driving in different directions for pick up/drop offs which will cut into your time at the destinations. Would not recommend for these two reasons. While the operator really was kind and did his best, having less than ten minutes in some locations due to all the picking up/dropping off was just not enough for me to see these sites.

We have responded directly to this client. Their many complaints from start to finish were misdirected at BusyBus who, in their opinion, were somehow responsible for the weather, global warming, the Covid pandemic and manufacturers vehicle specifications...oh...and road pot-holes. It came as no surprise to read their 1* Review that they seem to direct at everyone else in their reviews.
Nothing more to be said really. I guess we are to blame for theit Christmas burnt Turkey too.

We've been on many bus tours on I can honestly say this is the best by far.
Shelley was our driver & guide, she had a great knowledge of the area & places that we visited & was always smiling.
We were given plenty of time at each stop & Shelley was always there to answer any queries that we might have.
I would highly recommend it as a great way to visit multiple places in one day without the stresses of driving & finding somewhere to park.

BusyBus worked with us to put together a larger tour when our cruise line added a last minute stop in Liverpool. This was less than half the price, and a better excursion than that offered by the cruise line - and they were very cognizant of the time to make sure that we were back to the dock in time.
I'd recommend eating at the first stop in town if you'd like to visit Conwy Castle. The entry fee to the castle is not included, but we felt it was worth it and there was plenty of time - but there is not enough time to both eat and visit the castle in Conwy.
Snowdonia is gorgeous, and the ice cream at Betws-y-Coed was great. We did not get to stop at the aqueduct because there was a protest going on in the city of Liverpool, and the guides were attentive to ensure that we did not miss our cruise ship departure.

We were definitely lucky to have the loveliest sunny weather on that day. But even without that our driver Frank maked sure it was a day filled with a laughter based on his narrating and a quiz. I highly recommend the trip further!

Fabulous day to North Wales, Frank, you're a legend! Funny, informative, friendly & professional. Not sure about your jokes though 😂
He told us all best places to shop, eat & drink. 👌. I can't even remember some of the places we saw, so many! full on tour with perfectly timed stops. Just the right amount of time at each one. Loved the games, quizzes & interaction, being a solo traveller made it easier. Nice touch playing Ferry cross the Mersey when going through tunnel, started the day off with a smile👏

We had Lee as our guide. With just 14 on the tour, there was good interaction. Lee was attentive and gave valuable information on North Wales. North Wales is beautiful, some parts were especially breathtaking. We really enjoyed the tour. The many photos Lee took and posted on Facebook helped to keep the memories alive.
I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Liverpool, who wants to spend a day out of the city.

Embarking on the North Wales Sightseeing Tour with the charismatic guide and driver, Lee, from Busy Bus Tours, was an absolute delight. Lee's enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge truly brought the sights of Llandudno’s pier, Snowdonia National Park, and Conwy to life. The tour seamlessly blended breathtaking natural beauty with rich history, from the stunning coastal views of Llandudno’s pier to the awe-inspiring landscapes of Snowdonia. The exploration of Conwy, complete with its majestic castle and the whimsical Quay House, the smallest house in Great Britain, added a charming and memorable dimension to the journey. Lee's engaging commentary and warm demeanor made the experience not only informative but also incredibly enjoyable. A heartfelt thank you to Lee, who is "a very safe driver", and Busy Bus Tours for an unforgettable adventure through the captivating tapestry of North Wales.

The trip should not at all be called an "adventure" trip. For us it was disappointing that 3 out of 5 stops (Llandudno, Conwy, Betws Y Coed) were tourist hotspots, where you could spend 45 minutes among a crowd of people, fast food and souvenir shops and then head back to the bus.
One beautiful place was Llynogwen, where we, looking back, should have left the tour. The last stop (Aqueduct) was at least interesting and a somewhat relaxed natural experience.
The tour ran from 09:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. ~50% spent on the road (often on motorways) while the tourguide thought she had to fill the driving time non-stop with more or less interesting stories about Wales, like which Hollywood actors have been born there - not our piece of cake.
It was an additional great misery for us that in the small BusyBus (~15 people) somebody seemed to suffer from terrible digestion problems (assumingly) unnoticed by the tourguide and (assumingly) therefore uncommented by her.
In total it was a real torture and a waste of time and money. I cannot recommend this tour.

Oh dear! It appears you didn't enjoy our immersive adventure that titillated all senses?
Unfortunately, Wales is a place with beautiful coastal towns, castles, mountains, valleys and enchanting scenery. You clearly didn't appreciate any of it and perhaps chose the wrong type of tour?
I would respectfully suggest a tour to watch snow melt on a sand-dune in the Sahara might be more fitting?
Argh well, can't please everyone all of time but reading your other reviews it's clear there's no pleasing you any of the time.

You have to meet at 8:30 am and get back around 6 pm. It's a long day but totally worth it, especially if you have nice weather.

Where do we meet to catch the bus?
Written August 28, 2022
Not too much. Plus in your free time you decide what exactly you want to do.
Ex. in Conway you can walk around the whole town wall and then lose yourself in the little streets, but you can also grab fish&chips to go and enjoy it by the seaside :)

Some Trip Advisor trips allow us to reserve now and pay just a few days before the trip begins. Is it possible to do this with the Wales trip from Liverpool?
