    Shiverpool: Ghoul love it!
My friend and I joined the ‘Auld City and the Dead House’ tour on Saturday 7th September and we loved every second of it! Our guides, Chilla Black and Indiana Bones, took great care of us and kept us entertained and captivated with their stories. They were incredibly funny and stayed in character for the duration of the tour. If you’re looking for something a bit different to do in Liverpool - whether you’re a local or a tourist - I’d highly recommend giving Shiverpool a go.

Seen all 3 tours, sad there isn’t another one. High recommend!
My dad and I have been on two previous Shiverpool tours, and both were incredibly entertaining, thanks to the talented guides. Tonight was no exception. Chiller Black and Indiana Bones are amazing storytellers who know exactly how to keep the crowd engaged. From playfully interacting with passersby and chanting “GREEN DEMON” at the crosswalk to narrating ghost stories in graveyards with spooky sound effects, they really know how to create a thrilling atmosphere. We had a fantastic evening, and my dad absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this experience to anyone! Fun fact: A friend of mine, who used to work as a guide for Shiverpool, actually met his wife on one of the tours!

    A Spooktastic Evening!
Wow! We have done a lot of ghost tours around the UK, and this was absolutely the best one by far. From the moment we met our guides we were immersed in an evening of theatrical story telling all done with a brilliant sense of humour. We loved every minute even the 'spooky'ending. We lived to tell the tale!! Ten out of ten. Can't recommend this tour highly enough and next time we are in Liverpool we will be back for more spooky tales from the brilliant Shiverpool team.

Honestly brilliant! Guides (Indiana Bones and James Vagabond) had so much energy and talent for story telling. Despite the weather, they kept the spirits (pun intended) high. Would recommend to anyone.

    Entertaining and educational!
What a fantastic night we had with our American friends. The 2 guides were amazing, their knowledge was excellent and even though we are local we still learned things. The theatrical element kept everyone included and it was just SO MUCH FUN!!!!

    Shiverpool? Count us in!
We did both of the tours offered by the team of Shiverpool. Both time our guides were the wondeful "brothers" Bones. They are great storytellers, wonderful actors and excellent guides in terms of group managing (they used most of the techniques that were taught to me when I studied to become a guide). The visits were conducted at a confortable pace (not too slow, not too quick). The background stories were both interesting and shiver-inducing. It allowed us to re visit places we had already seen but in a different light (with the spooky stories attached to the locations) and it made us look closely on things we would have not seen otherwise. The tour were interatives as the guides asked for our participation and sollicited it even when we thought we would simply be walk-in between places. We would definitely do it another time if we had the chance.

I took my son on his very first Ghost Walk with Shiverpool on the Hope Street walk and what a great night it was!

From the moment Chiller Black and Mary Coffins arrived outside the Philharmonic Dining Rooms they were in character and were so engaging with us and continued to do so with every other guest who arrived.

The interactive between the guides and guests was non stop with constant laughs and tongue in cheek quips, alongside spooky and historical stories and facts from the ‘other’ side of the City.
The added touch of the Dark Hooded Spectre, which followed us around, added that extra touch.

Reaching the end of the night, the guides offered to take those, who wished, further in to the necropolis for further stories, free of charge, and from their own time.

I bought the Shiverpool Ghost Map, which is of great quality and fantastic, showcasing some of the lesser known historical locations.

This is something that I would highly recommend, well worth it!

I make a point of trying to find Ghost Tours in any city I visit and I was delighted to find Shiverpool.

The tour was engaging and entertaining - very well delivered - I would definitely recommend staying at the end of the "official tour" for the extra bit at the Necropolis.

I paid out the extra for the poster map and it's now hanging on my wall, looking suitably gothic.

I had wanted to do the other tour as well, but it was booked out, so I guess I'll just have to go back again! :)

This is a great tour for all ages and well worth the ticket price.

Hope Street Shivers

A fantastic night was had by all, with highly informative, talented and entertaining hosts who led the group on a hilarious yet atmospheric walking tour of Hope Street and its surrounding areas.

Hosts ChillerBlack and JacquelineHyde, kitted out in Victorian clothing and ghoulish makeup, took us by the hand as we delved into Liverpool's murky past.

We explored the former site of a Victorian workhouse, the Wellington Rooms, Rodney Street, and the unusual pyramidal William MacKenzie's Tomb, amongst other places of interest, ending with the beautiful Anglican Cathedral and St James' Cemetary, with plenty of laughs along the way!

The tour turned particularly spooky at the cemetery as little bats swarmed above our heads.

We crept around the gravestones learning about the impressive site's history and its many myths and legends - with nearly 58,000 souls laid to rest amidst the stunning backdrop.

I would highly recommend this tour, not just for those seeking a scare but for theatre fans and anyone with a passion for history.

We took (and survived) the Auld City and the Dead House tour last night with ages 14-60+ in attendance and let me tell you, we all left thinking it was brilliant!! They made a point of making my 14 year old feel extra welcome and involved which he loved. It was raining however, we didn’t get wet, we were just feeling the rain! Worth it in all weathers. Book it.

So I'll admit I've never really been interested in the idea of ghost walks before but after my experience with Shiverpool the other night I've officially been converted! I wanna go on even more now in different cities! The whole tour was very informative and taught me plenty of new things about my very own city. The biggest takeaway for me personally though, it was absolutely hilarious from the start to the very end! Which I didn't expect at all, I personally thought it would've been on the more serious side so that was a pleasant surprise. I've got to give a massive shout out to the actors on this one especially to the gent who played Paul Macabre! They didn't miss a single comedic beat, I was very impressed with how quick witted they both were and how they reacted & adapted to the group's output. This is hands down a 5 star event and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone on the fence or otherwise. Well played Shiverpool! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

An incredibly well delivered, insightful, entertaining, humorous and engaging tour of the haunted sites around The Cathedrals of Liverpool. We’re a family of 6, with our youngest at 6 and eldest at 14- our family had a truly memorable time with the Shiverpool team, who did a great job of walking and entertaining a mixed group of around 30, maintaining participation and interest throughout. Historically accurate and delivered expertly, we will certainly book on another tour run by the company. As a final treat, we were provided with a tour of the Necropolis and the tombs/burial places of note. Performances utterly incredible. Well worth the ticket price, a brilliant value and great investment for the experience- Bravo!!!

SEN teacher here... I took my class of KS3 boys on the Shiverpool tour yesterday, and wow, what an enriching experience it was.

I booked the tour to tie in with our Gothic Literature topic in English with a view to inspire ideas and expand their gothic vocabulary. Lucy and the team did not disappoint!

They catered for all our needs before hand and had excellent communication with myself.

Never slipping from role, Chiller Black and Mary Poppins fully engaged the boys and immersed them in the darker side of history in Liverpool. Not only did the boys enjoy it, the staff had a ball too!

Would highly recommend this tour for personal or educational purposes.

A christmas present prior to COVID lockdown over two years ago was eagerly awaited by our group.
Starting at the Philarmonic pub, a fabulously entertaining evening took us through many hidden, dark experiences along Hope St linking the city's two cathedrals and ending in St James's Cemetery.
ChillerBlack's unswerving energy and passion for the subject matter was truly breath-taking and She was very well supported by the youngster ClaireVoyant, who gave us a periodic scare whilst keeping us in check along the route.
The tour was the central focus of a fabulous weekend for our group and I would recommend this to anyone seeking entertainment with a difference.

Went on the tour tonight and it was absolutely amazing. Chilla Black and Judy Stench were wonderfully kooky tour guides and kept us all brilliantly entertained.
Can't wait to get a group together and do it again.
Definately recommend it if you're interested in the darker side of the city.

My mother and I really enjoyed the Hope Street Ghost Walk last night and I would thoroughly recommend it to others. We live locally and were still fascinated to hear about the city’s dark and macabre secrets! Our guide ChillerBlack was very theatrical, interesting and amusing, with ClaireVoyant’s occasional shrieks and bangs giving us all a good scare! In particular, I really enjoyed the tour of the cemetery at the end, wind howling, very eerie and spooky, lots of great stories and facts about Liverpool throughout. We are already considering doing the Auld City tour in the not too distant future, what a great night out for all the family!
