We met Francis, history guide for the Tower and we will be back to experience his tour absolutely wonderful young man.Written November 26, 2024
- V7856MVpaulw0 contributionsBlackpool Tower Heritage Tour, fantasticwe spent halloween at the Tower this year We started off with the Tower Heritage Tour, which was one of the best things we have done this year. Francis took us round, explaining the whole history of the idea behind the tower, and its supposed associated sites, through how the various shows, circuses, zoos, ballrooms and all the other attractions developed over the years, We got to go and sit in the circus Arena for a talk while some of the performers were rehearsing, we went to areas not normally seen unless in a special event, even the design of the windows and ceiling decor in the crazy golf area was explained we were the allowed to go to the ballroom to have a leisurely sit and a drink to listen to the music and watch the dancers We then went back to the crazy golf for a game, before going to the circus where we had the ringside seats for the best view, and had our 2nd circus show of the year, which was as enjoyable as the 1st one we went to 20 years ago In short we had a freat day in the whole building, going up down and around all the areas, and the icing was the Heritage tour, which we only found out about a few days before we went, so were very fortuntae to get tickets for it, as it doesn't run all that often. It is something that I coulnt recommend enough, Francis was a fantastic guide, so knowledgeable about the history, and as we kept seeing him running aroun the building later in the day, asking us how our visit was going and were we enjoying ourselves. He is a credit to the Tower and all the staff, and if you get a chance to do this tour, make sure you get a ticketWritten November 14, 2024

- gailcrawford0 contributionsFantastic views and staff.Really enjoyed the 4d film before the ride to the top of the tower itself. Staff were great especially those in the elevators giving lots of tower facts. Had a 2 day pass which was great as we were able to go up during the day and a night. Views are amazing.Written November 5, 2024
- Jeni C0 contributionsGreat family day out with the pick n mix pass!We booked the Pick n Mix Blackpool pass, mainly because we wanted to do the circus and the tower and it appeared cost effective. We had a brilliant (albeit exhausting!) day! We visited Sealife, Tussauds, the tower, the circus and the ballroom. All were brilliant, our biggest regret was not booking afternoon tea in the ballroom. We didn't expect our children aged between 1 and 12 to appreciate its beauty, but they sat for such a long time admiring the dancing! I'd been up the tower many times as a child, it was lovely showing my children the sights I remembered. The booking system works well, and we didn't queue for anything despite it being half term.Written November 4, 2024
- jossr9350 contributionsFabulous afternoon teaWe went for afternoon tea in the ballroom. The tea was great and the ballroom itself is very beautiful. The Wurlitzer was playing - great atmosphere with families also having a good time on the dancefloor as well as seasoned dancers. Staff very helpful.Written November 3, 2024
- David M0 contributionsNot worth it unless you are a professional dancerI paid for the cream tea afternoon, the tea was beautiful and very well put together. The waitress was amazing. Now the bad point, unless you are a professional dancer then forget this place. I wanted to have a dance with my autistic daughter but to say unfriendly that is the least of it, so the advertisement should be to enjoy your cream tea but if you want to be able to use the ballroom dance floor, you must be professional. I would say alas it is not inclusive. Shame really because everyone should be able to experience this wonderful place 😞Written November 3, 2024
- Kathleen C0 contributionsImpressive!❣️It was the first time I had been to Blackpool. I stayed with Family in Layton, and went into Blackpool by bus every day. The weather was beautiful- sunny and warm and I was impressed with Blackpool north beach, and seafront. It was clean, lots of amenities, and the shops were amazing.Written November 1, 2024
- julestarka0 contributionsFull day at the towerMostly a good day thanks to some individual staff. Have to name a lovely lady called Michelle who doesn't work in circus area but was in there that day. She helped me and my son when I was ill. Think she is normally customer services. She was awesome and got me safely into a seat to rest and sorted out my sons vip snacks. Thank you Circus - you need to accept card payments- was not nice trying to deal with an autustic melt down as his mum couldn't buy a spinny plate, but you could use card to buy ice cream! Your disabled toilet in the tower shop had a broken lock. I was desperate for rhe toilet and asked a male member of staff who was on the till to help by guarding the door. He said he would report the broken lock and then went off leaving me distraught. And on the verge of tears as I was that desperate! A kindly member of the public saw I was upset and held the door for me. Ballroom afternoon tea was utterly fantastic and our waitress called Jackie (not spelt that way) ensured my sons autistic ways of no butter, mayo etc was adhered to. Dungeons- very hot and in one section the mirrors we were left far to long trying to get out with children crying and screaming, in one section where they talk about meeting a captain who was a smuggler the actor started and then another one came in and they ended up both leaving to decide what to stay next, not very professional. Sealife centre was lovely but staff were too busy cleaning, feeding animals, wrapping a mummy (took 3 staff) too answer questions. All in all it was a good day but for the price paid it could have been better.Written October 31, 2024
- S1819XKjg0 contributionsObnoxious staffSome great actors in the Dungeon, but the day was spoilt by an obnoxious actor who didn’t adhere to no-contact with guests. Barged around in a black corridor whilst giving verbal abuse which was not part of the act ☹️ We didn’t visit other attractions we had booked as it spoilt our day. Therefore would not recommend the Dungeons.Written October 25, 2024
- jnev520 contributionsSpoilt by abysmal service. We pre-booked the ballroom and the "cream tea" option, and understood that we were still expected to collect our own teas from the service point. What we were NOT expecting was to have to queue for a full 35 minutes to collect these, as the entire (packed) ballroom was being served by just two active servers, who were dealing with the cream teas as well as everyone else just wanting normal beers, wines etc. People in general were furious; one chap told me he had queued for a full three-quarters of an hour. Utterly unacceptable! The ballroom itself was admittedly magnificent and it was great watching the dancers of all abilities having a go; but we won't be going back, and someone really needs to get a grip on the service standards.Written October 18, 2024

My partner and 2 children aged 14 and 9 were down in Blackpool for a week and decided to book the Blackpool Tower (Eye) and the Dungeons. Obviously due to the Pandemic bookings had to be done online. So I proceeded to book on th 27th of July for the 28th of July. The process was fairly simple and I my booking was accepted for the Eye and the Dungeons on the 28th. We headed down on the 28th and the Wind was very strong. The guy at the door told me the the Eye was closed due to the wind and he could not wait to get the words "it's not refundable" out. He then procedeed to tell me that the Dungeons were closed. I stated that the system did not prompt us that the Dungeons were closed and why did the system let me proceed with the booking? There was another family in the exact predicament that we were in at the time we were trying to check in. We were leaving the next day so the promise of 'don't worry your ticket is valid for 12 Months' was not acceptable. I can understand the closure of the Eye due to Wind but the system allowing me to book the Dungeons when it is closed, come on!?
I demanded to speak to a Manager to further vent my frustrations. She came out and it was basically like talking to a brick wall. Reiterating what he first guy said about tickets being non refundable. Again I accepted the issue with the Wind was a valid excuse for not issuing a refund but accepting a booking for an event that wasn't open was totally unacceptable. She didn't want to listen, so I asked to speak to someone else or have my issue escalated. She said there was no one in the building that could issue a refund and I would have to phone or email customer service (who were not in the building). I said that I would like to talk to customer service and speak to them with the 'Manager' being present. She said she would have to go and get the number. Fine. A couple of minutes later someone else came out (An actual Manager this time probably) and actually got that the situation that we we in was pretty unacceptable . She procedeed to process the refund within a minute. Three quarters of an hour wasted.
I seen at least three Families during the time we were waiting, having the exact same issue and accepting the fact that they would have to accept the 'No refund policy' despite being able to book an event that was closed.
Potentially families from other countries that will not be back within the 12 Month period to get what they paid for. Really unacceptable. Why not just issue a refund?
We won't be back, despite being issued a refund. So poor from a huge company.

After many visits over the years to Blackpool but never going to the Tower, we decided to buy tickets for the Blackpool Eye.
Unfortunately on the day we visited the weather was very wet and overcast so we knew the views from the top wouldn’t be great, but that can’t be helped.
We made our way up to the 5th level and the waiting started. Winding your way with hoards of other people, most not wearing masks and all being pushed along together. Went into a circular room that led to the 4D cinema, as more and more people kept cramming in; we were waiting there for over 20 minutes.
The show last only a few minutes, then you exit and join a very, very long queue while you wait for the lift to take you to the top. Another 20 minute wait, nothing to entertain you as you shuffle along, no seats. Again, we were all crammed into the lift, no pandemic, no social distancing at all!
The lift up was good as you travel outside through the centre core of the tower. We all spilled out at the top which was already really crowded so hard to move around or see a great deal.
We walked around the top and ventured out onto the lower outer level, very wet and so windy-as we came back in these outer levels were closed due to adverse weather!
Then another 20 minute wait in a crowded queue to get back down again. You exited into the gift shop/arcade where they hope you’ll spend your money on tacky souvenirs !
And that was it-total let down, a lot of money spent on basically queuing up and spending 10 minutes at the ‘attraction’!
Don’t waste your money!

Hello.
Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear about your experience at The Blackpool Tower, we strive to ensure every guest have a great experience in our attractions.
Here at The Blackpool Tower we have several measures in place, including reduced capacity, hand sanitisers available around the building, enhanced cleaning, and increased ventilation, amongst others.
All our attractions meet (and in many cases exceed) the current government guidance, however all of our measures are under constant review, and we appreciate your feedback from your visit.
Kind regards
Kenny

Complete rip off. Having prebooked for five people we turned up and were shuffled into a crowded room with no social distancing and only one or two people wearing masks. After approx 15 minutes we were taken in to watch the short 3D film show. The film was okay but yet another example of covert sexism - showing the costumed all action young boy in the family whilst the sister sat passively by. At the end of the film we were then told that owing to the weather the Tower was closed and we could not go up. We were told that we could rebook for another day. That's fine if you live close by but if, like us, you were making a one off long distance trip to see the lights in the half term holiday it is highly unlikely that people will drive for several hours and pay out for an over night stay just to go up the Tower :especially as there is no guarantee that the same closure would not occur.
Whilst the venue can not be blamed for the weather they should have advised people of the closure upon entry and also offered a refund, or at the very least, the opportunity to get a reduction on one of the other attractions. As it was we simply gifted the venue a sum of money having saved hard to take the children to Blackpool. Hence beware - if travelling a distance and unlikely to return, be prepared to waste your money and end up with disappointed children.

Hello.
First of all please accept my apologies for any disappointment caused due to the weather related Tower Eye closure.
I understand your frustration, however when you purchase tickets on our website it does inform you that The Blackpool Tower Eye is a weather permitting attraction. The Health and Safety of our guests and team is always our top priority, and if we experience high winds we do have to close due the nature of the attraction.
Due to our seafront location the wind can change and vary vs. the weather forecast, due to the height of our structure. We monitor wind speeds constantly, which is why we closed on the date of your visit. We aim to inform our guests as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the wind speeds can change immediately and this resulted in your being affected on arrival to the lift.
Kind regards,
Kenny.

Be careful of wait times! With 2 toddlers, we booked a time (5.45); after 1.5 hours queuing we got into the 5 min theatre, the top would have been another hour after that! Apparently it was because it was windy, so there was a backlog, and only one lift was working. But no one told us that! We left after 2 hours, without getting to the top, as the toddlers were hungry and restless. The staff were great and gave us a refund, but we think the management shouldn’t have been taking online bookings knowing the backlog, and that someone should have been honest with the large queues about the wait (someone promised 30 mins when we got there). I’m sure it’s great if you can teach the top - and genuinely the staff were lovely - I just don’t want people to waste a night like we did.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Blackpool Tower; we appreciate your feedback.
I do apologise that the information wasn't relayed to you regarding the delayed waiting times due to the weather on the day of your visit, staff should of been making all guests aware of this upon arrival.
I am pleased to hear that the team you spoke to were lovely and I do hope that you will be able to visit us again to go to the top of the Tower

Always wanted to go up to the top of Blackpool tower, there was a member of staff on every corner on the way up to guide you which is the only reason I didn’t rate the experience terrible. Visiting during covid season made for a more challenging experience, when we were near the top we were crammed into a lift and told to stand back to back and face the outer wall of the lift, there was no distance at all, I couldn’t wait to get out. Once we got to the top You were given the option for feedback from a machine and it asked about temperature checks?? I wasn’t checked or asked anything? Not that I was bothered it would have been more of a pain but it showed that the standards they should have been following weren’t being adhered too.
Once me and my friend got to the top we were told to follow one direction but there were no staff to be seen so that created a little confusion but it was good to finally visit, the views are nice and the 4D experience was also a pretty good! Once we finished I had to ask (very nicely) if I could go in a lift with less people because I felt so uncomfortable in the early cram!
After that I can honestly say getting out of the tower was a maize, and there were no staff to be seen! Other than the lady in the gift shop who I came back too several times! If u are of any disability or have a buggy when you visit make sure you find the lift in the gift shop to get you out, or part way anyway!
Thankfully we saw a cleaner a few more floors down, she summed up our trip .... once they’ve got your money they don’t care! I would still recommend you go but ask for a less crowded lift, both up and down, and if you can’t use the stairs to get out ask on the way up for directions down. If you are unsure ask for help. I hope if you visit you have a better experience than ours, I told a member of staff on the way out and she just looked at me like I was stupid, that’s all you can do with those that don’t really give two hoots!!
Also if you try booking online and have an issue, it won’t add the ticket to your basket etc .... for some reason it generally only works with google chrome, and there is an app for it on Apple, I’m guessing there is on other smart phones too!

Although kids loved the glass floor t top of tower and 3D movie the rest of tower including ballroom were closed which website does not advise of. Cafe had severely restricted menu - drinks sandwiches and cakes/biscuits only and did not cater for people with allergies or intolerances at all. Feel ripped off that had to pay full price for limited attractions and will not be returning g or recommend so g a yo e else artensa u til everything is open Ed or prices are reduced accordingly.

Hello.
Thank you for your review of the Blackpool Tower Eye.
It is great to hear that the children loved the glass floor and 4D Cinema. The views from the top are spectacular and we are glad you were able to enjoy this.
Here at the Tower, our tickets and attractions are individually priced. The Tower Ballroom was closed due to Government Guidelines and is a separate attraction to the Tower Eye. I am sorry that you felt this was not clear enough in advance of your visit. All of our opening times and attraction tickets are available to view on our website.
Kind regards,
Kenny,

Inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, it is 518 feet tall and is the 125th-tallest freestanding tower in the world. Blackpool Tower is also the common name for the Tower Buildings, an entertainment complex in a red-brick three-storey block that comprises the tower, Tower Circus, the Tower Ballroom, and roof gardens, which was designated a Grade I listed building in 1973.
We booked the tower experience and Madame Tussauds for 4 adults at £27 and one child at £24.50 (£132.50) although no one in the family were particularly fond of heights.
Before ascending to the top of the tower there was a 4d experience movie that lasted around six minutes which was quite good and then you took a lift to the top of the tower that took about 69 seconds.
The platform at the top of the tower provided excellent views of Blackpool and the glass platform was a fun element for those that were not afraid of heights.
We would have loved to have visited the Ballroom but on this occasion was closed.
A great experience but wouldn't pay the money to go up again in the future.

My first and last time visiting Blackpool and couldn’t visit without seeing the tower. What can I say…after paying an absolutely extortionate price per person and the blood of my first born we ascended the building ready to experience the beauty of this infamous tourist attraction. After following what can only be described as crowd directing barriers (we were 2 of about 10 people at the time) we entered a 4D immersive experience aimed wholly at children. Once we had been sprayed with water and foam for what felt like an eternity we were directed to the lift which, in my opinion, is where we should have started this whole journey. The tower itself is impressive, as were the views over Blackpool and beyond. I see why this is the main reason people come to Blackpool but why has its beautiful internal decor been transformed into an arcade when there are plenty of these on the piers outside, where they belong. Happy to say that I have visited but will certainly not be returning or recommending to anyone who values their hard earned cash

I went with my partner and 2 kids 1 of 6 and 1 who is 3, basically we queued about half hour to get in & then we queued again once we got in for another 20 minutes. Then we had to wait another 15 minutes before we went through to the 3d experience. Once we got up there it was chocker! Only 1 lift working for all the people they let up absolutely disgusting. So we looked at All of the views took afew photos then we wanted to leave as did every one else & that was the problem there was about 60 people waiting for a lift that fits about 8 people in. They was all backed up onto the stairs (major health & safety concern) Children were crying my little girl needed a wee & we had to tell her she needs to Wait as there were no toilets for her. She was screaming because she was that uncomfortable so I went to find someone & I came across a young ish man in his late 20s early 30s who I think was the manager he was very arrogant & when I said to him they need to sort something to get the queue down to let people out as my little girl needed the toilet he rudely replied sarcastically “well im sorry that they didn’t think of putting toilets up here over 100 years ago” which I think is quite rude tbh. So my little girl ended up having an accident (luckily we had a spare change of clothes for her!) but nobody should have to have an accident because an organisation can’t manage the amount of people they have let through their doors! This used to be a nice attraction in Blackpool but unfortunately now with covid And all the restrictions unfortunately they cannot manage it very well & haven’t got very good managing/organisational skills. I would save your money & do something else unless you enjoy being trapped in a tower for about an hour with no toilets food or drinks!
The sea life centre is so much better, just at the side of the tower, it is educating & wait for it.... you have toilets !!

Great family trip to the tower!
It has been years since I have been up the tower and the day we choose to go the circus wasn’t on so we decided on the tower instead.
We headed straight in after giving out details for track and trace. We headed straight up to level 5 and had out photos taken, we wandered through reading interesting facts about how the tower was built and things that have happened in it since it was built. We then had to wait maybe about 5/10 minutes on the 4D cinema being ready for us to go into.
We went in to the cinema and everyone was in different bays depending on their group size. My little girl really enjoyed the cinema, she moved when things came at her and thought it was great when she was sprayed with things.
The cinema lasted maybe about ten minutes and then we headed up to the top of the tower.
We got in the lift and headed the 62 seconds up to the top of the tower. You can just wander around reading more info or looking out from the view points. If you want to you can walk on your the steps to the top. Not the very top as those steps were roped off. Not sure if they are normally open or if it was just that day. We walked over the glass floor and looked down to the promenade.
I really enjoyed my visit to the tower. We had a 2 for 1
Cadbury’s ticket so only paid the two adult price tickets and got a kid for free but i am not sure if I would have thought it was very good value for money had it cost approx £45 for the three tickets.

My Tower Eye ticket says 10 am. Surely that's just the opening time and I can visit from that time until last admission time ... is this correct? What is last admission time?
