- V7567RUgeoffr0 contributionsGreat funThe Winchester mystery was great. We had a wonderful day. I would give a 5 rating but for one disappointing thing; we calculated the 'meeting time' by elimination but the correct answer is not revealed it the booklet. So we just have to assume we figured out the meeting time correctly.Written March 26, 2025

- 412carenf0 contributionsFantastic quiz and lovely cityChester is a beautiful city full of history and fantastic buildings. The quiz was fun to do, enjoyable and we met so many other groups also doing the quiz. It was fun helping each other out, and talking about hints and helping out in the pubs along the way.Written March 24, 2025
- Z2330LXmattw0 contributionsYork: Mystery of the Gunpowder SnitchMy wife and I got this at Christmas as we already had a weekend trip planned to York. After some lunch, we made a start and had a really fun time doing this as it took us around the city. The puzzles were well put together and very creative in using what’s already in the environment of the city. We also came across several other groups also making their way through the adventure, which kicked out competitive streak in to gear as well and pushed us along a bit more. We’ll be looking at getting more of these and using them as a basis for day trips out to other places around the country now. Highly recommended for people that enjoy some history, puzzles, and exploring.Written March 23, 2025
- Passenger717800 contributionsAmazing tour but last pub not dog friendlyThis was a great experience & way to see Bath, I’m sure I read it was child & dog friendly (I could be wrong) & everywhere was but the final pub which my husband & I were very happy about finding & completing the treasure hunt BUT a slight anti climax as they said no dogs allowed. It was fine & we found another pub nearby to celebrate finding the treasure. But we loved the overall experience as a whole 😀Written March 23, 2025

- S8514MMclairem0 contributionsBest day! Great experience!Absolutely brilliant, not only was the story of the Bullingdon Burglar funny to follow, the history of Oxford was so interesting. Halley’s Comet was particularly interesting to learn about along with the Narina door! So well researched and executed. A really clever and broad mix of skills required. Excellent!Written March 22, 2025
- Maria S0 contributionsWinchester Mystery GuideThis is the second Mystery Guide we've done. It's a fun way to spend a couple of hours, or a couple more if you stop for drinks on the way round. We waited till the end for drinks & a lush meal at one of the pubs. You notice thing's you wouldn't normally see & you may learn a thing or two. Be great for kids too.Written March 22, 2025
- H3962QZwilliamr0 contributionsGreat fun and Real historyWe chose the Portsmouth adventure. What an excellent idea. Beautiful booklet and very interesting snippets of real history. The clues were pitched at just the right level and provided extra information about this historic city. All in all an excellent adventureWritten March 22, 2025
- 487joycem0 contributionsA fantastic day out in EdinburghA brilliant day completing the Edinburgh Mystery Guide - The Mystery of The Midnight Body Snatcher. The difficulty level was just right - could be solved without having to linger too long, but one or two more challenging. We couldn't believe how many other parties we met on the same mission. We had chosen the best day weather wise in March, bright and sunny but not too hot for walking Edinburgh's hilly streets. Breakfast and a visit to Paddington before we started, then a lovely dinner at The Playfair in the Omni Centre made our day complete. We have now ordered the books for three more cities. Mystery Guides, please please please bring on more Scottish options.Written March 19, 2025
- Melanie C0 contributionsGreat family funWe have recently completed 3 Mystery Guides (Chester, Stratford upon Avon and Brighton. They are a wonderful way to spend a day with friends and family in a shared activity. We got to places that we never would have found without the guide and the clues and puzzles were challenging but not too much so. I have several other guides yet to complete and am really looking to doing so! Well done, a fabulous business.Written March 18, 2025
- Nanniejo660 contributionsGreat fun for all!Just returned from a lovely stay in York. We went for an overnight stay and to complete our Christmas gift of the York Mystery adventure, which we thoroughly enjoyed. What an amazing fun way to get some exercise! We really really enjoyed it and the effort put in to create this is fantastic! We had such a lovely day and the fact that we visited a few pubs on the way made it all the more enjoyable! We will definitely be buying more and using these as the subject of our mini getaways.Written March 18, 2025

We did the Brighton hunt today, 2 adults and 2 kids (age 12). We had a great time and got to see parts of Brighton we wouldn’t normally. We stopped at the Druids Head pub for lunch which was lovely and they gave a discount when we showed our guide book (the food was very reasonably priced anyway).
A brilliant day out had by all. From start to finish it took 4 and a half hours but that was almost an hour stop in the pub and we also loved looking at all the quirky shops in the lanes.
We will definitely be doing another.
Thank you 👍🏻

We had great fun doing this -it was our fourth one and didn’t disappoint. We are regular visitors to Brighton it still discovered a couple of places we had not been to before. The clues were the right balance between hard and fun. Highly recommend this one -it’s a lovely town with so much to explore-and you notice so much more around you when playing one of these games.

I bought this mystery guide of Brighton as a stocking filler for my daughter and we set off to do it yesterday. It was fun to be tourists in our hometown and we discovered a number of things we hadn’t previously noticed despite them being in plain sight. The clues varied in difficulty and we did refer to the “extras” a couple of times (more to confirm our choices ) If you didn’t know Brighton the route the guide takes gives you a really good feel for the city and it’s attractions and the directions are very clear. There are 4 pub stops mentioned in the tour but you go past so many other places you could stop for a drink or lunch, you are spoilt for choice. Would definitely recommend for a fun day spent with family or friends. Will be buying the Portsmouth mystery for our next adventure!

Because it was raining we planed to split some of the clues up and finish solving it at our hotel. As we were only given one book to share (which is also outlined in the terms) we were unable to do this. We attempted to explain this to the person where we collect the book but they were unable to help.
You are essentially paying £15 for one book, when you are better off paying for one person to do the tour.

Hi Gemma
The standard price for a Mystery Guide if you buy direct on my website is £14.99, so don't worry you haven't been overcharged. I've set up the activity as 1 x Mystery Guide between 2 people, so that everyone can get involved.
I'm sorry that the weather wasn't good on the day, and hopefully you can get another chance to complete it when the sun is out.
All the best,
Jack

Had a lovely time doing our first mystery tour. The clues are well thought out and not too easy or too hard. The price is very affordable. My only criticism is finding parking which was not easy and very expensive and having toilets on the booklet would be very helpful.

Our third mystery tour. This one felt quite different, particularly from York. It was an excellent trip round Brighton, giving us a really good insight into the Brighton seafront, lanes and surrounds. As always a few really good clues, some very simple clues and one that was very difficult for us to find, on the pier, although easy enough to solve once found.
Unfortunately we did it on the day after the major fire at the Albion Hotel, but fortunately that only meant we missed one clue. A judicious bit of googling found us the answer eventually. We thoroughly enjoy these guides. If you know a city well, it will show you less well known places, if you don't know a city it is a lovely introduction to that city. The pubs you pick are generally really good, however in Brighton be aware that Wetherspoons does not allow dogs in.
The photos I have downloaded are not spoilers, so you can view them.
We are now addicts, are soon to be doing Cambridge, then Stratford, then we will be choosing 3 more books. Excellent fun.

My wife bought this as a stocking filler for me last year and we finally got around to getting to Brighton last weekend.
We were visiting a nephew and his partner (whom we hadn't met before) who live in Brighton and thought this challenge might be a good ice breaker.
I think they were a little bemused by it all but my wife and I loved it.
It must be said that we did have the benefit of glorious weather (12th & 13th August) and the vibe in Brighton was amazing, but the mystery gradually even won over our two young formerly reluctant team member (somewhat).
I knew very little about Brighton but this guide really made the place accessible and eventually familiar.
As a result I've become really fond of Brighton, and very eager to try out another one of these.
I must mention one particular issue with the clues though, and this may be a spoiler
..
The clue in the graveyard where the headstone needs to be read - the engraving was now so eroded that we found it impossible to make out, resulting in having to resort to the clue on the back page. Maybe you can check this out?
Also, when 'cheating' for this clue, it was very difficult to avoid reading other hints.

8 of us did this as a work activity and had a great time!
Perfect balance of a bit of thought without being too challenging, perfect way to explore the city for those from out of town and for the locals. We stopped at pubs twice in the middle and at the end making it the perfect duration as well (about 3 hours with the stops).

I decided to get this mystery guide as a gift for us for Christmas as we had a few days booked in Brighton and I thought it would be a fun way to spend our time. It did not disappoint. It took us the best part of a day and a half because we stopped in all the pub's. That is totally optional. We met lots of people doing the same thing and had a chat and a giggle with many of them. A great way to get to see parts of the city you might ordinary miss. Looking forward to doing our next one.

Excellent as always. Brighton really does rock!!! Followed the mystery during mid week to avoid the crowds, and we still saw others doing the same thing (no cheating though) we all gave each other space to work out clues. Thoroughly enjoyed it all, especially your choices of pubs 😜 no ghosts though.
