      Varied tasty food for everyone
We spent a great few hours with Jess sampling some of the DELICIOUS food that independent Brighton has to offer. Time in the venues was just right, and we were well notified of toilet availability. There was a great range to pick from and our food requirements (pescatarian and non drinker) were easily and readily catered for. Highlights for us were Smorls (the thunder hummus is a must buy!), the burger kitchen and the curry leaf! Rainbow organic chocolate is also absolutely amazing. We met up with a local friend on the tour who had never been to any of the places, so this is one for locals looking to discover more about their glorious home town, as well as tourists looking to see a slightly different side of Brighton. Heartily recommend!

      Loved every minute!
Fabulous tour - to be highly recommended! It is a great intro to Brighton food gems, made even better by our great food guide Alex. We 'rolled' home, absolutely stuffed, having had the best time with great company too.

Great tour and fantastic guide. Good food and drinks and great to taste different kind of food and drinks. The stories of the town and places we went to were very good and fun stories about the town.

OMG….. what an AMAZING food tour. We have been to Brighton a number of times and I always look for great quality, locally sourced eateries and my eyes were opened today!! Heaps of thanks to Clare who guided us amazingly through lanes and back streets of Brighton that we didn’t know existed.

Perfect way to explore the independent food scene in Brighton
We did a private food tour for 8 to explore the food scene in parts of Brighton we were unfamiliar with. Angela did an amazing job at communicating with us and setting up the perfect tour for mine and my partners family. Ashley was our guide on the day and was brilliant in leading our group at a good pace. He intermingled historical facts of Brighton with humour and made for a really interesting tour. We went to 7 venues in total but he pointed out a whole host of other places to add to our list. We would recommend this to locals or those popping down for the day. It’s a great way to get familiar with Brignton and the amazing food scene. You won’t be left hungry!

Brilliant tour for foodies in Brighton
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour - even though we live in Brighton, we discovered lots of new places, and learned the stories behind places we already love, thanks to our guide Ashley and the friendly vendors. Everyone in the group was lovely, and will definitely be returning to the venues on the tour and others pointed out along the way. And there was so much food that everyone was stuffed by the end!

      5* Tour
We had the most wonderful day with Brighton Food Tours; Ashley, our guide, was brilliant - so knowledgable and interesting. We live in Brighton and were taken to so many wonderful independent places that we didn't even know existed until now. Only issue... we could barely walk by the end we were so full! Excellent tour!

Chocolate, cinnamon buns, sausages, oysters and ice cream
This was an excellent tour, visiting 7 very different venues. We've lived in Brighton for 20 years, and have never been to any of the places, so it was an eye-opener! The guide Clare was brilliant, and we went at a good pace, not too fast, not too slow. By the end, it wasn't a light lunch equivalent we'd had - we were very full, and didn't need anything to eat in the evening! For me , the sausage roll was the highlight, plus the organic hot chocolate.

      Brighton Food Tour
Really good tour . Very interesting, good food . The visit to Smorls was really intersting with lots of information about the companys history and how the products were made by the owner himself. Couldnt have eaten another thing but enjoyed the doggy bag later in the evening

This year we tried a culinary themed holiday (our children are in their teens and late teens and don't get enthusiastic about family activities anymore, thus I planned a bunch of culinary experimentations). Beside visiting indoor street food markets in London and Greenwich, insider tip bakeries in Newhaven's industrial area and organic ice cream parlours in Lewes, we used the V.I.B. walking food tour in Brighton.
Not cheep, but the sampled food from 7 establishments did a more than light lunch made. We weren't stuffed but delightfully sated (especially after the exquisite nibbles in the Curry Leaf Cafe), and get offered a discount to purchase more (even on later days). After mentioned our dietary requirements beforehand there were vegan and veganic alternatives available which even our omnivore members found more than palatable.
Only a very slight niggle: our guide Ashley was sometimes a little bit too swift-footed (since our tight schedule was strained by chatty hosts) for us tourists to keep up in the traffic, but he waited a bit away and we only missed some of his many additional information on Brighton's history and culinary and architectural sights.

Thanks so much for the lovely review. "Delightfully Sated" is what we are aiming for! I'm sorry if Ashley was a little fleet of foot for you. He would not have minded if you asked him to slow a little. So pleased it was still a 5 star review though. Thanks so much for taking the time to write it!

This was our first family trip to Brighton so we booked a food tour to explore the local area. It didn't dissapoint!

We explored seven independent venues and our tour guide (Ashley) pointed out other foodie places of interest along the way.

He had great knowledge of, not only the local food, but also Brighton history, which was a nice touch and added a layer of appreciation for the places we visited.

The portion sizes were very generous. We finished the tour feeling full but not ill!

Ashely was extremely friendly and funny and made us all feel like one big group rather than two separate familes. Not to mention the heavens opened during our tour, we were all soaking wet but his sunny disposition kept our spirits from dampening.

The group size itself was well thought out, it wasnt too big that we felt we couldn't stop him to ask questions. Covid considerations were maintained throughout.

Overall a great day out and good value for money. Would recommend!

My partner and I had an amazing experience doing the VIB Food tour. We had the pleasure to have Claire as our tour guide, and she was brilliant. She provided such cool history facts about each place we have been to and was very friendly. We live in Brighton and we were so impressed with the selection of food venues and itinerary, because even though we live here, we wouldn't even imagine about knowing some cool facts about the venues way of making the food and all the work that goes into it!
We HIGHLY recommend to everyone (locals and non-locals) and we can't wait to do the Hove Food tour next!

Highly recommend! Did this for my partners birthday with his parents and we all came away with full bellies and smiles on our faces. Kat was wonderful and gives a personal experience.

We were a mix of Brightonians and tourists and all loved it so definitely recommend regardless of if you're a local!

I had such a fabulous experience today on this tour and it was great to be ‘out’ again and feeling completely safe, whilst discovering hidden gems in Brighton. Cat did an amazing job of sharing her passion and knowledge of independent food establishments whilst ensuring all Covid safety guidelines were followed, allowing for some truly delicious sampling of wonderful specialities. Am already thinking of another excuse to do it all again. Thank you!

Cat was a wonderful guide with a real passion for the independent foodie scene as well as giving us a great historical inside to her lovely city. This was 3 hours of the very best food, great company, lovely walk around Brighton and an absolute must for any foodies out there.

My wife and I had a brilliant few hours learning about some of Brightons hidden eateries. The tour guides were warm, friendly and informative whilst leading us to the several delightful food places. We learnt about the history and ethos of several places and got to taste some fantastic local food which was a real treat. I would definitely recommend the tour, we had a great time and now know where to get home made humous (the best I've ever tasted) and homemade vegan sausage rolls which were incredible!

Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Brighton! Especially anyone unsure of where to go out to eat.
We'd been exploring Brighton for a few days already and this tour showed us the fantastic places that we'd missed.
Not only do you get a lot of tasty food along the way, but you get to meet the people who's insight and passion on the food that they provide is contagious.
Ashley was a great tour guide who as well as being informative and friendly, made us feel safe and comfortable with all the Co-vid restrictions in a way that did not affect our enjoyment at all.
We'll be coming back to Brighton to eat at all the places again.

Loved it! New to the area and having experienced food tours on weekend breaks outside the UK, we signed up for this tour hoping that it would be a good introduction to Brighton and provide us with a list of good restaurants to check out in the future. And it delivered in spades! Ashley was knowledgeable, engaging and led the tour (at pace) across the very different neighbourhoods of Brighton, introducing us to the history, the geography and of course the culinary delights of the town. The highlight was very much the people that we met and the passionate stories that they had to tell. And we now have a great list of independent restaurants to return to. Job done!

The VIB Walking Food Tour with our guide Claire was an amazing experience. As visitors from Australia there were many cafes and restaurants in Brighton that we didn't recognise as chains, which resulted in two very average meals the day before the tour. Claire was able to set us straight, but more importantly was able to communicate her knowledge and enthusiasm for the many passionate independent producers in Brighton. We got to meet many of the producers, hear their stories and sample their food, all of which was sensational. Along the way Claire also gave recommendations for other producers and gave the back story for many of these businesses. Hearing these stories from Claire and the producers was one of the best aspects of the tour as it explained why these businesses offer such high quality and delicious food, and inspired us to seek out independent food businesses on the rest of our travels. The tour was great value and a lot fun. The amount of food we sampled left us very full, but with only one night in Brighton left we took Claire's recommendation of Mexican restaurant Carlito Burrito and we were not disappointed.
