- ginamJ8219ZI0 contributionsHeartfelt palace of memories!Oh this was so enjoyable, so beautiful, we absolutely enjoyed Kensington Palace and gardens! The cafe had delicious tea and coffee and bakery goods! The paintings of Queen Victoria were lovely, also her dollhouses!! I loved the wallpaper of Princess Diana in the hallway!! So adorable!!🩷 Miss her so much!! Loved seeing where she had lived! Also where Prince William and Princess Kate lives with their beautiful family! I absolutely loved the gift shop!! My daughter bought me beautiful earrings, that reminds me of Princess Diana's jewelry that she wore!! Absolutely loved her statue overlooking the garden pond!!Written September 29, 2024
- EwenCameronZ0 contributionsGreatA nice little tour, and detailed enough to be interesting and engaging. Presumably because of the extra cost to purchase through VoiceMap it’s a little bit pricey for what it is, but enjoyable all the same.Written July 28, 2024
- fayes8710 contributionsInsightful Britpop memories from someone who lived it!Excellent tour of Camden from a Britpop point if view. Loved Mirandas stories and bring able to discover places I managed to miss in the 90s! Highly recommend for anyone who was into the Britpop Scene in the 90s or anyone who wants an insight into what it was actually like (my 21 year old cousin enjoyed it). The walk itself is just the right length - you know you've had a good explore but you are not shattered. I won't spoil it but the final destination may be somewhere you can grab a well earned rest and a pint!Written June 4, 2024
- Journey507350 contributionsNostalgic trip back to the 90s!Really enjoyed this tour of Camden and it’s Britpop history! Great to hear from someone who was there at the height of the scene and get personal insights. I was in Camden from 1996 onwards so it was interesting to hear more about the early years. There was a good mix of local history of Camden and the music scene and why it developed there, told in a humorous and friendly style. Plus we all ended up in the Dublin Castle afterwards for a drink - I have such fond memories of DC with it being the first place I went to for a gig after moving to London.Written June 3, 2024
- neilkM1417YR0 contributionsIf you remember the era, well worth doing!A hugely interesting and informative tour with a great host and wonderful speeches. Huge respect to Miranda and all her hard work. A truly lovely walk as well around that area of North London. Thank you! Book with confidence.Written June 2, 2024
- hollyrK4743MX0 contributionsPerfect experience for any Britpop fanFantastic tour for any Britpop or ‘90s enthusiast alike. Full of detail and personal anecdotes from the guide Miranda. Really enjoyed the fact it extended to Primrose Hill and ended at the iconic Dublin Castle.Written June 2, 2024
- ChinnorJim0 contributionsFun and interesting afternoon in CamdenThe voice tour uses an app called Voice Map which tracks you using GPS to trigger the information. It was very interesting, easy to use and fun. It took me into parts of Camden I’ve never seen which was cool. I’d recommend this to any fans of Britpop music but also anyone visiting Camden and wanting to see some of the lesser known parts.Written June 1, 2024
- Global410462923520 contributionsBreakthrough Audio tourMy wife and I love audio tours. Convenient, flexible, informative, personalized. For our May trip to London we discovered VoiceMap. This was a breakthrough. The app uses GPS to lead you around, and direct the tour. The app is free and easy to use offline. The tours are not, but worth it.Written May 27, 2024
- Discover235030006890 contributionsFun true crime experienceI really enjoyed this. The mix of narration and scenes was really cool, made it feel very immersive. Im definitely gonna try more of these self guided experiencesWritten May 9, 2024
- Sunshine584727853750 contributionsThe best audio tour I’ve come acrossThis audio tour was brilliantly done. A truly authentic experience. I felt completely immersed. I would highly recommend for those wanting to do a tour in their own time with no big groups!Written May 8, 2024
- Sazzlerc0 contributionsFun, informative walk round LondonA really fun, informative walk round Green Park and beyond, learning all about Oscar Wilde's life, works and relationships. Really enjoyed the commentary and finding out about some of the more hidden gems on this route and quirks like Wilde's penchant for smoking and running up bills at his hat shop. Also enjoyed taking peaks down little alleyways and looking at statues and places you'd easily otherwise miss without this audio. Thoroughly recommend whether you're a Wilde fan or just looking for something different to do in London.Written May 8, 2024
- CarolG8430 contributionsNice walk with lots of good pubsLovely walk along the Thames although we did not get to Chiswick as the river had breached its bank and part of the route was flooded.Written March 14, 2024
- T5601ADclaireh0 contributionsInteresting and leisurelyThe app was really easy to use and audio tour was really interesting. I liked the fact that gps tracked your phone and only started to talk when you reached the next destination. It was great for my friend who has a lung condition so fast walking was out. Would highly recommend and we are looking forward to our next tour !Written February 13, 2024
- Storyteller5329520 contributionsUnable to use without internetI was not able to open the app as the area had terrible internet connection. So it did not work at all for me. Perhaps useful to suggest travellers to download the app and be able to listen without internet connection?!Written January 21, 2024

We don’t recommend this service without fully researching when you can tour the colleges and where to park. We paid (no refunds allowed) and THEN learned once we got to Cambridge at the exact location provided by the tour that there was a gate to that college stating closed to the public. The three audio tours we bought were useless and all of the colleges closed during the holidays. Had there been a disclaimer we would not have bought the tours. We recommend buying a guided walking tour in person and don’t waste your time on these self guided audio tours that are non refundable.

Hi Jenna
We're sorry you didn't use the tour. It can be taken without visiting the college grounds so you don't need entry but you can usually purchase an entry ticket.
I've provided you with a refund as I can see you didn't use the tour. You'll need to get in touch with the other tours you booked with regards to refunds on their tours. We only offer one tour in Cambridge.
Keep well,
Alicia

First time we’ve tried this concept, and we have to say that it really is brilliant! The tour as such was ok, with some fun and interesting anecdotes and points of interest, but unfortunately the narrator was a bit blah, and sounded like she was going to fall asleep at any moment. That said, this really is a great way to get some background and insight into the places you visit, if you haven’t got the time or money or whatever to do a tour with a live guide. So we really recommend the concept as such. It is really good value for money, and lets you walk around in your own pace.

This is not a comprehensive tour of Cambridge, but it hit many of the obvious highlights and also included some that I didn't know about, like Castle Mound. I enjoyed the narrator's personal notes and found the tour easy to follow. There were a couple occasions when traffic noise drown out her directions, but it was easy to rewind to get back on track. I recommend combining this tour with a punting tour to get another perspective.

Thank you for a wonderful experience around the beautiful Cambridge centre. Loved the facts, the information was clear and interesting with a personal touch from the author. The GPS position comments worked perfectly and were very helpful!
Thanks a lot! A very good option for those who love walking tours and are limited in time.

Whilst this tour was informative it was extremely limited, focussing on only a couple of colleges. I think that it should have been made clearer in the description of the tour. I ended up having to buy a map to look at the rest of the colleges (of which there are many). Caveat emptor.

I recommend the Cambridge audio tour. There was some “friction” getting my code to unlock the tour. There’s a small bit of the tour that’s out of sate as it makes a detour to avoid an entrance previously closed due to Covid-19.
But overall my experience was positive.
It’s a well written tour with factual information rather than the made uo anecdotes and ghost stories aome tour guides offer.

We booked this audio tour (by VoiceMap) partly because all of the other tours were booked during the one day we would be in Cambridge. It turned out to be just right for us. We could take the tour on our own schedule, replay parts we wanted to hear again, and meander around the campus at a leisurely pace. The guide seems to have touched on most of the interesting spots. What would have given it 5 stars is if, rather than silence in between walking from 'point A to point B,' that a bit more history or folklore could be given. Other than that, it was a very good, clear description of what we wanted to see. During our stay the Trinity library was not open, so we could not go inside.

What an amazing city Cambridge is and how interesting and well explained this walking audio tour was! As we don’t like going around exploring cities in big groups, misunderstanding some explanations and not hearing others, we opted for this excellent audio guide.
We walked in the beautiful city of Cambridge at our own pace, even stopping in the middle of the tour to spoil ourselves with an ice cream. We are keeping the tour in our phones so that next time when we visit Cambridge we will be able to listen to it, or parts of it, again.
Lastly, we also loved the low price of the tour compared to accompanied ones. We managed well even without a human guide to ask questions. When we wanted to know a particular fact which was not mentioned in the audio guide, we simply asked a local!

Pretty good for a self guided tour, easy to use and download. It really covers only the main colleges. Handy to have if you don’t want to rely on a guide and want to keep things flexible
