We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, it was fascinating and great fun. Tony has lots of fabulous stories to share and he is very funny. It was well worth the price... particularly as we had our tour guide to ourselves. We also used the 10% discount at The Eagle, which was handy.Written November 2, 2024

Take the opportunity to do the same if you ever have the chance. You will not be disappointed. A rainy Wednesday in late September was brought alive by Tony’s magical tour. It included all aspects of why Cambridge is such a special place whilst, at the same time, keeping myself and my two sisters thoroughly entertained. What a day! Thank You Tony.Written October 1, 2024

We had a walking tour of Cambridge with Tony today. It was simply excellent.
I cannot recommend his walking tour highly enough, be it for interesting facts, funny moments, beautiful architecture, compelling historical anecdotes, or simply the genuine moments of unscripted hilarity.
Tony is well drilled on his subject matter, open to (oftentimes relentless) questioning, warm, funny, and courteous.
If you want a great experience to take away from your trip to Cambridge, look no further than here.

I visited Cambridge with my girlfriend and was very fortunate to have been guided by Beverly Van Buuren of Cambridge Tour Guides.
Bev, was not only knowledgeable, but she also made the experience most memorable indeed by her warm demeanour and witty views about life in general. She was most polite and took time to explain various intriguiging historical facts. As a fledging academic who is in the process of concluding his thesis, I can say that Bev lit something within me, especially when we stood near the bronze statue of the young Charles Darwin.
My girlfriend and I still laugh about her determination to spot the second rabbit on the vast artwork covering the walls of the Great King's College Chepel. She has vowed to come back and finish the conquest, and of couse, I will come with her but only if Bev would be available to take us around.
Thank you Cambridge Tour Guides.
Thank you Bev. You are the Best!

Looking for a funny, fearless, intelligent tour guide who knows more about Cambridge than anyone in living memory? Tony is your man. A week or two ago he took us on an extensive tour of King’s college and it’s surrounding attractions, and though it was two hours and in weather cold enough to turn a polar bear into a popsicle, the time practically flew by. He has a way of explaining history that is infinitely superior to the mind numbingly boring history textbooks of our youth. Not only that, but he charmed and chatted with literally every person we met on our way, obviously a beloved figure. You can search all of England for at least three reigns of Henry the Seventh and still not find a better tour guide.

The tour was first rate. Tony Rodgers was very knowledgeable, funny, a real storyteller. We especially enjoyed Kings College Chapel and Tony’s passion for the history and the architecture. The more modern accounts of the RAF bar at the Eagle Hotel and the gold time piece were brilliant as well. Taking a walking tour is definately the way to see and appreciate a city. We have done many over the years and this was one of the best. Thanks Rodger

I am a Swiss high school student who came to Cambridge for a language trip. On this trip, we took a guided tour on the first morning. The guided tour was great! The guide is very attentive to the fact that everyone understands what she says (hand signals, flow, ...) The places shown are very interesting and varied. What I liked the most were the anecdotes and stories about each place. So we had a very good overview of the history of Cambridge, allowing us to develop a maximum of knowledge in a short time. I recommend this tour for any tourist!

Super.
My wife and I had 4 guests from North America staying; they were all born and educated in England and very familiar with our country and its history. We have lived in central Cambridge for over 40 years and know a lot about our historic City but decided we needed someone well-qualified to lead a tour rather than a DIY attempt ourselves.
And who better than Tony Rodgers? Larger than life and unmissable in his flamboyant blue and white striped blazer, he guided us through the streets and Colleges, answering quite probing questions with authority and filling in the gaps in our own knowledge.
Excellent!

We had a tailor-made private tour - tailor made because we booked at short notice and Tony very kindly accommodated us into his busy day. We walked around a few streets around the Market Square, and learned about some of the key buildings in the area. Then we were taken to King's College Chapel where we were given quite a detailed overview of this magnificent building. Our group included grandparents (late seventies) and teenagers. Tony was great fun, irreverent but at the same time respectful. Of course he was absolutely full of knowledge of the town, but managed to adapt sometimes for the adults (my father is a keen historian), and sometimes for the children. We had a great day out with Tony, he really helped to make our visit to Cambridge much better. He also helped us book a restaurant.

Jonny took us on an informative and most enjoyable walking tour. It makes such a difference when a guide takes time at the start to get acquainted and then customizes the tour to your hopes and objectives. Jonny is a charmer and his love for Cambridge and knowledge of so many quirky little stories and details made our day in Cambridge unforgettable.

We were a group of 3 doing the "From the Romans to the DNA" tour with Tony, and it was absolutely outstanding. Tony is knowledgeable, engaging and with a great sense of humour that makes listening joyful and conversation easy. A couple of us had been to King's College a few years ago, and seeing it again together with Tony was a completely new and refreshing experience - we learned a lot and had a great experience. Time flew. Our best recommendations!

Tony was absolutely brilliant, well pitched for a small group (parents and teen) and really knowledgable. Lots of interesting detail meant two hours absolutely flew by. The funny and quirky stories and his interest in us made it feel like we’d had a much more personal tour than one of the large groups would have been. Chris helped with planning timings around Kings opening hours.
