      A lot of fun!!
A great hen activity!! Really enjoyable - prepare yourself for some cardio! A bit of waiting around for a few groups - which is the only reason it’s not 5*. Perhaps a timing issue on the day.

      Come with a positive attitude
Amy and James were welcoming hosts, introducing us to the West Country Games with enthusiasm which instantly made us feel at home. The games are simple enough and very enjoyable; make sure you have a go, you won't regret it!

Very muddy but a lot of fun
Only reason not a 5* experience is because of the weather making everywhere a mud bath. But the service and the games were excellent. Ash and his colleague (I can’t mind her name sorry) were great company and kept us on track even though I believe it was their first day. So if things only get better from there I’m sure you’re in for a great day.

      Fun Hen Activity
So much fun and games! The competitive activities were a whole host of fun and all the more as it was inside (due to the unexpected British weather) - there were two teams of eight of us and we all had fun and all the laughs. a must do if you wana have fun!

      STAG FUN
We visited WCG at Gatcombe farm at the end of september for my friends stag do. The team on hand were friendly and fun and invested in the stag having a good time! Wide variety of activities for all ages and fitness levels, it does tire you out no matter how fit you think you are! Would highly recommend going there, this is the second time i have been and would return again!

      Great fun!
Great games which involved all members of the group. Experience lasted about 2 hours and didn’t feel rushed or too small. We had a lot of fun and I’d definitely recommend! (We did the outdoor course.)

What can I say... It was Total Wipeout dreams come true. Josh was absolutely brilliant and even thought the skies didn't let up with the rain the whole way through it didn't stop the enjoyment one bit. Josh was so well organised and the activities were explained brilliantly and we all had an absolutely amazing time. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to have a day acting as a big kid!

    Thank you :)

Such great fun!! A good variety of games to suit different abilities. We were looked after by Jack who did a great job; he explained everything really clearly and was very patient and tolerant of us (15 women on a hen weekend). Would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an activity - you’ll definitely laugh, a lot!

I went here as a 65 year old Aunt, part of my niece's hen party. While I passed on 1 of the activities I took part in all the others and have not laughed so much in a long time. Our group consisted of girls mainly in their early 30s, all physically fit and very competitive. We threw wellies, knocked each other off podiums and played skittles with a difference. When it came to fighting my sister both dressed in huge Vicky Pollard costumes we were laughing so much it took us a while to get going!

Our group all agreed this was a fun morning. It is in a beautiful setting and we were lucky to have a lovely day. The 2 guys in charge of our 2 groups were lovely, kind and considerate and looked after us well so no-one got hurt. I would definitely recommend this activity for any hen or stag party.

All of it ,it was great fun and the 2 guys taking us around were pleasant and made the activities fun . They were very patient as we were a large group . I would definatly recommend. No one was forced to complete the activities, any one could opt out of a particular activity .

Overall it was fun and a funny activity for a group of lads. Negatives are that some of the equipment needs refreshing - seen better days. Also over the tannoy they played the same song - the Worzel’s version of Get Lucky, the whole time we were there, over and over again. Seriously, it nearly drove me crazy. What on earth was that about?

Hi Roscoe, thanks for taking the time to write us a review. It is true that some of the kit needs refreshing. But after losing 95% of our revenue and nearly losing our business last year, we just haven't had the budget in 2021 to renew any kit. We're hoping to do that next year. All of the songs are played on a loop. Had you said something to someone I'm sure we would have taken a look at things if there were a technical issue on the day. Jamie

I attended a hen party at the West Country Games. I couldn't take part in the games due to being pregnant but all the games looked A LOT of fun! My friends had such a good time! Our games host, Ash, was brilliant. He had so much enthusiasm for his job, explained each game well and helped the girls balance on some of the more tricky inflatable games. Hilarious to watch! Great day out.
Points for improvement: porta loos o.k. but could do with a sink/trough/outdoor tap with soap to wash hands, and would be useful to have little gazebos dotted around, or at each game to shield from sun on hot days, or rain on rainy days.
    Overall, would recommend.

Thanks very much for your review and feedback. Your ideas are both really good ones. Getting a sink with a tap is a really good idea. We do not own the farm though, so would have to get approval from the farmer. Hopefully this is something we can look at in the future, but currently things are undecided as we may be moving to the adjacent field next season. But when we have some certainty we will look to add this in. So far as tents go, we do advertise this as an outdoor event. We have 20 game stations, so adding a gazebo at each of these would be a huge expense and also take a lot of time to set up each day. As we are a pop up event each weekend it's not really feasible unfortunately. But people can peel off and come to get a drink and use the large tent we have at any time they feel like they need to, we find this works quite well normally.

What an amazing event this turned out to be for mine and my finances joint Hen & Stag on 27/04/2024.

I was a little sceptical about booking this event for our group activity on the Saturday but boy am I glad I did.

Mark was the most amazing host and honestly made up for at least 35%-40% of the games enjoyment. He was so funny and entertaining it was almost like we had booked a comedy show on top of the activities that took place.

My fiancé had sprained his ankle the Friday night before (typical man on a stag) and so was under the impression he would just be there to spectate. But Mark was incredible in incorporating him into all the activities he could without causing any injury which I was so so greatful for.

That little bit of extra effort from Mark was really really appreciated and honestly the entire group who was hungover and grumbling at the idea of being in a field in the cold were laughing, smiling and saying how much fun it was & how somehow the whole ordeal had cured our hangovers by the end.

Mark thank you so much for the best activity we enjoyed on the Saturday of our Hen&Stag - you are a legend!!!

West Country Games please please give this man a raise and hire more like him - you won’t regret it xxx

We enjoyed the games as a group of 8 for a hen party. The games are excellent fun. There was a good variety and we played 8 different games. From welly wrangling to sumo suits and even gladiator style fights. The girls and the hen had a really good time and brought out our competitive side!

Despite being told multiple times not to show up drunk there was a group of lads heavily inebriated. They knocked one of their team out wrestling and when challenged by staff they became aggressive. I felt so sorry for the staff, should have kicked them off.

We did come away with a few injuries, whiplash and skin burns. So make sure you are careful!

Constantly told off for having fun. You have to sign a waiver that if you get hurt it's your fault and not theirs yet you have to wear slippery socks because you might get skin burn on the bouncy castle. Constantly threatened to be disqualified. The events themselves were very fun but could have done with a guide who was a bit nicer and more laid back. We're over 30 but were treated like children. I'm only leaving this review because they have messaged and emailed without my consent that they could use my email so enjoy...

Hi Kam, Thanks for taking the time to provide us with a review. I'll try to address your points for you which may help you to understand the situation from our side. Any activity provided for the public tries to strike a balance between risk of injury and fun. We do insist on people wearing socks on the inflatable games. This is an insurance requirement. We once left ourselves open when someone blamed us for burning his feet on a hot day. We simply don't take the risk any more on that and going on the inflatables without socks is not allowed. We are trying to protect our company and the instructor was doing a diligent job for us there. We have certain rules in place, such as not allowing head shots. We have been running now for 11 years and know how injuries can occur. We are trying to protect our customers from sustaining an injury, so if you were doing head shots as you were told not to in the initial briefing, then the instructor was just doing their job in telling you not to and we would support them on their supervision. You must understand that stag groups can be unruly, so it can be tough for an instructor that may be a lot younger than yourselves to remain in control of you not ensure that you complete the games in a safe manner. We provide a lot of training to our instructors around communicating with groups and also being energetic and fun. We break it down and talk about verbal and non verbal communication and discuss what can go wrong if they do not remain in control of a group throughout. Our instructors are often young people finding their way in the working world. As you say you are all over 30, but your instructor may still have been a teenager. So if you feel that they did not hit the right mark, please do email us because it may be that we need to provide some more training and support for that young person. You mentioned about us emailing you without your consent. But this is not the case because you signed a disclaimer form and we say the only time we will email you is to ask for a review and to provide a link to photos for the day. You signed this giving us that authority so we have done no wrong there. I hope that I have addressed all of your points there but would welcome any further correspondence so that we can provide some additional training for the instructor involved, who may well have been working one of their first events since being taken on by us since is it early in the season and we quadruple the size of our events in the space of a month, which means a lot of new staff starting since we are a seasonal company. Regards, Jamie

Games were really good, we had a guide called Inka who was lovely and really got involved with us and make it more fun. There were 16 of us as a hen party and it wasn’t an issues that some of us had to sit out some of them because of injury. Games were really funny and everyone enjoyed them. Bring a jacket unless it’s the summer tho as it’s freezing stood out on the field!
