Awesome tour, first time in Bristol
This was a lovely tour! It's my first time in Bristol and I was so glad to have this tour to help me around and help me get my bearings. Ready to praise and stop in at many local shops and restaurants. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Bristol! :)

Great way to spend an afternoon
Took a couple of days trip to Bristol to relax and check out the local brew scene. Very informative and easy to follow. Brought up some pubs worth visiting later on, fav was the Strawberry Theif. Definitely worth doing if you like beer, history and want to find out more about this fantastic city

A great way to spend an afternoon
Had a wonderful few hours completing the Bristol Hoppers Beer Tour. It was great to explore the area as well as sample the local ales. The tour was easy to follow and navigate. Plenty of detail with maps included. We took our time and completed the tour in a comfortable 4 hours. Such a wonderful activity to take part in. I’d highly recommend it.

    Enjoyable afternoon
My son and I took this tour for his 23rd birthday. We enjoyed seeing new parts of Bristol and finding the independent pubs. It was like an adult treasure hunt with beer as the prizes! Friendly bar staff and lots of drinks options, A very enjoyable afternoon. We made our own score card up to rate the ales so we didn’t forget which were our favourites! Recommend taking a pen if you want to do this and reading glasses if you have eyesight like mine as the print directions are quite small!

    Perfect tour, great beer
A wonderful way to see some of the lesser known sites while discovering delightful local beers and ciders. Clear directions and warm receptions make for a perfect afternoon/evening that you can take at your own pace.

    Fantastic way to see Bristol
We loved this tour. Very clever idea. Went to places we wouldn't have found on our own and the walk between locations was excellent. Highly recommended, every City should do it. I posted only one picture as I wouldn't want to give anything away, that would ruin it.

    Triple Brewery Tap Room Tour
We took a guided tour, with Heather, of three Bristolian microbreweries' Tap Rooms. A great night out. You get to try a range of beers in terrific locations you'd be hard put to find yourself. The brewers were on hand to give you some useful and enjoyable insight of their brewing methods, their history and the wider Bristol and UK brewirng scene - all while sampling their beers. I'd throughly recommend it - the perfect gift for any beer lovers visiting or living in and around Bristol.

    Bristol -Triple Brewery Night Tour
We thoroughly enjoyed this guided walking tour of 3 of Bristol's Craft breweries. In 2 of the locations we were given a talk/mini-tour and all along enjoyed a variety of excellent beers- plenty of choice for all tastes. At least as important was the fun of being in a small group; we will certainly do one of these tours again. Thanks Heather- you are doing a great job!

A very very well-organized fun time visiting local pubs
We finished our tour this afternoon and it was a great day!! A lot of thought and planning goes into this and it is much appreciated!!! Instructions were easy enough for a directionally-challenged (me) and non-native English speaker (my partner) to figure out. The pubs seems very local and it was nice to be able to go at our own pace!! Thanks to Heather for being so responsive and easy to get a hold of!!

Fantastic day with a fantastic tour guide
I booked a private tour for my friend's stag do (10 guys) which was led by Tim. When booking the tour, Heather worked with me to curate the perfect tour for us, including making sure there were vegan lunch options and we ended up where our next activity was - she even put up with our last minute changes to the plan/numbers. Tim was a fantastic guy with an incredible knowledge and enthusiasm for beer. I really couldn't recommend Bristol Hoppers highly enough!!!

Great fun and great way to explore
We loved the tour. The last two stops were our favourites, especially as the last stop did some lovely cocktails which we were of course obliged to try. We took about 4 hours to complete the tour but 6 in total as we had food and more drinks at the final destination. Overall a great night out and an interesting way to find places we didn't know about, even those in our party who are native Bristolians.

    Perfect day out
I went on the self-guided cross harbour tour with my dad and it was the perfect day out! We started at the first pub and as we were quite excited and keen to see where we would go next only ended up staying there for around half an hour. It was fun to read through all the information provided in the envelope and find out about the next steps of the tour. At the next pub we stayed a little longer and as I am a much slower drinker than my dad, he enjoyed a second drink there while he waited for me. It is perfect to be so flexible and do it all in your own time. The third stop offered something a little different which was also great (I don’t want to spoil any surprises). Again my dad opted for an additional drink while I finished mine. At the last stop we sat a little longer and relaxed. We had a thoroughly nice time! I think all in all it took us about 3.5h for the main tour but we decided to walk to Wapping Wharf as suggested by the organiser and have another drink there as it was such a nice day. Also good to know: most places also offered cider instead of beer. So you can still enjoy it even if you don’t fancy a beer at every stop. Would definitely recommend this and can imagine it being even more fun in a bigger group!

For £18 a person you don’t get all that much to drink.
The tour starts on an industrial estate which made us a little wary, there wasn’t much of an atmosphere in the area.
The walk isn’t very long in between venues which is a plus but the selection on offer - after the first place - is a little lacking.
We didn’t even visit the last venue as it looked a bit of a hole with a cheesy disco underway.
Would not book this again nor particularly recommend it.

I am really sorry that you didn't enjoy yourself. This is my first review of less that four stars and I'll be honest, is a little surprising. Nearly all breweries are based in industrial estates. Moor is where I drink on a weekly basis and I find the staff and atmosphere makes it a lovely place to hang out, with a huge selection of great beers to choose from. The four venues all have unique personalities and styles. In two of them you would had been served by the business owners themselves. The last pub, The Elmer's Arms does have live music on Friday & Saturday nights, and occasionally a Thursday. These are vinyl DJ's or live bands. The beer selection in there is fabulous, with ten lines (eight of which are local) and therefore the pub is extremely popular with craft beer drinkers. Elmer himself is one of the loveliest men you'll ever meet, so it's a real shame you didn't venture in. You do pay a few pounds more than it would cost to buy the beers yourself and I am very sorry if you feel that means bad value after the maps, factsheets, beer tokens have been lovingly put together by me. The venues are tiny, independent venues stocking locally produced beers and therefore the beer is not necessarily the cheapest you find. I am therefore also very sorry you didn't feel that it was good value.

Tour began at Moor Beers Tap room, bar staff were great, good choice of ctaft beers. The 3 drinks we had were all good. We were given tokens map & snacks great start to the night. We were told that we could exchange our tokens for any beer in the pubs on the tour. Little Martha Brewey excellent. Good choice of craft beers. Staff freindly. On arrival at The Barley Mow we chose our craft beers from the large menu on display above the bar, as the bar lady attempted to pour these beers the barman stopped her and bluntly told us that we could only use the tokens for a limited choice of 3 regular beers on the bar. We were told at Moor Brewery tap room that the tokens could be exchanged for any craft beer. This was not the case here. We were very embarrassed and left the pub. Next pub visited was To the Moon, ok if you want very loud DJ music on your craft beer tour. Choice of 4 beers. The next pub was The Elmers Arms, owner excellent character. Good choice of any of the craft beers with the tokens.

Hi Anna. Thank you for taking the time to feed back on your experience. Within your map and guide, it clearly states what you can get for your token in each venue. Moor wouldn't be the people to ask as the tour is created by myself, not them. That's why I wrote everything in your guide. The Barley Mow pub is owned by Bristol Beer Factory brewery, so the beers here are any two thirds (either of the same beer or two different one) of their own beer, rather than the usual half offered by the other venues. Most custoners choose to have the Barley Mow as one of their stops because you get more beer volume here, although from a more limited range. I also believe that by putting more stops on the map and guide than there are tokens, it gives you the opportunity to skip somewhere if the music, beers, etc isn't to your taste. If you didn't like To The Moon, you could had skipped it and continued onto the other stops. I am sorry that you didn't find my guide clear enough or feel that you could contact myself or at the venue on arrival with any questions, which ended up causing you embarrassment. Thank you for your positive feedback about Moor, Little Martha and The Elmer's Arms (Yes, Elmer is a lovely man indeed, a personal friend of mine and he has an excellent bar) I am never happy to hear someone's evening left them feeling so unhappy to warrant a two star review. Please let me know improvements I could make that would had prevented this (aside from asking the bar staff to refer you to your guide or myself with any questions about other venues) Thank you again.

I booked a self guided tour with a hotel stay for my husband's birthday. Heather was amazing during the booking process and so helpful and efficient and it was a very well organised evening. Each venue was within walking distance of the last and each was different and unique. We loved all the venues and the beers were delicious! Highly recommended and would book again. We'll even be going back to visit some of the venues on our own!

I'm really glad you enjoyed yourselves in my own local area. I'd only created the option to have a hotel added to your tour on my website a few days before you booked it so am delighted to hear such good feedback. Hopefully next time you're in Bristol you can come along on one of my sociable guided tours. Thanks again, Heather

We would never have gone to these places without this tour. Lots of them look like the sort of place you would walk past if you didn't have a reason to go in but I'm so glad we did, they were really fun! The beer was great and the bar staff were lovely. Don't judge a book by its cover is definitely the take home here!

I got a self-guided beer tour for 2 for my husband as a birthday present as we are both lovers of great craft beer and there are plenty of awesome artisan brewers in the city.

We live in Bristol and have some firm favourite locally brewed craft beers.

However, this was a great opportunity to discover some new flavours, different beers and find some new watering holes in a part of Bristol we don't go to much.

The pack had plenty of tokens to get as pleasingly refreshed, with just the right amount of beers for two of us to stay cosy for a few hours on a wintery Saturday afternoon and evening.

Well worth it. Would recommend and will probably do another tour to a different part of the city some other time.

Was given this as a present, and invited my son in law to come with me for the trip. We had a great time, spent over 3 hours in total travelling around the 4 locations, having samples of the beers and then using a token for a glass full of our choices. We would have stayed longer, but we travelled to Bristol by train with my wife and daughter, and had a train to catch back home. Certainly, would go again and try some of the beers we omitted this time.

We chose the Old Market area tour as it was an area of Bristol we hadn't visited before. The tour took us to 4 diverse pubs, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our tour took over 4 hours but that included an extended stay in the last pub playing vinyl records on the pub's decks! A brilliant landlord who was a pleasure to meet.
