- After hotel pickup in Auckland, relax as your small group travels to Coromandel. Stop at Driving Creek Railway and Potteries to board New Zealand’s only narrow-gauge mountain railway, which journeys through native kauri forest, tunnels, and viaducts. Disembark at a mountaintop viewing station and enjoy views of the Hauraki Gulf below. Follow your guide on a short walk through the kauri trees, then continue by car across the mountains to Hot Water Beach. Have lunch at a local café, then dig your own natural hot spring pool in the golden sand, where thermal waters bubble up at low tide. Wind down at nearby Cathedral Cove, an aptly named cavern flooded by the Pacific Ocean. If conditions allow, walk to the arched rock, taking care on the uneven terrain (good walking shoes are required). Your tour ends with an evening return to your Auckland hotel.

We had the "luck" of the day! Damien was fabulous and all that we could have ever asked for in a tour guide. He connected all the 6 of us as we came from different parts of the world. He totally figured out our physical abilities and how to "time" the day. The entire 8 hour day was so perfect and I am very picky. We returned just yesterday from NZ and can say that this company's tour and Damien, in particular, was the best of the 21 day itinerary. The food stops and restroom stops were excellent. Coromandel and the railroad journey was so fun and exciting. You all will love this tour. Wish I could go back.

Amazing day out , didn't start too well as one of the parties were late picking up, however both Damien and Dawn handled it very well. They both did an excellent job and made the whole day the most enjoyable part of our stay in Auckland.
They are both socially engaging and knowledgeable and what they didn't know wasn't worth knowing. The Cathedral Cove stop was amazing and well worth the effort involved getting down there and back.
Hot Water Beach is a now a ticked off Bucket List even if only a short stay!
Lunch stop off was very good, always a bit weary of these on day trips, but excellent choice.
The DCR Railway and Pottery was a unique experience, quite charming that the driver used to live in Stoke on Trent!!
Overall a great experience which you would struggle to do on your own in the same timescale.

This tour was relaxed and friendly but also well planned and professional. The Coromandel Peninsula is beautiful but if you only have one day to enjoy it you really want to see the best bits. This tour took us on the Driving Creek railway, Cathedral Cove and hot sands. We journeyed through beautiful landscape and seascapes. Murray, our driver was a mine of fascinating facts and stories that for me, really brought the area alive. I learnt a lot about New Zealand and had a great day.

We were fortunate to be the only two on the Day Tour with Damian! He was our very own private tour guide and very knowledgeable :) From start to finish we enjoyed the day with Damian going the extra mile to make it a great one! We were able to see the highlights of the penisula within a one day excursion - that worked well for our timelines. And without having the stress of driving. We would love to spend more time at Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove - those were our highlights of the day! We appreciate the attention to detail and the conservation efforts that Bush and Beach make! This tour was definitely a highlight of our holiday.

Fabulous full day led by Alex. Hadn’t known what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed it. Alex was a great guide and so knowledgeable. He looked after us taking account of our abilities to do things. There were 4 of us and it was a great atmosphere all day. Would totally recommend the tour and Alex. Thank you Andrea, Gill and Sue.

We spent the day with guides Geoff & Kevin for the Coromandel Peninsula Day Tour. The hot water beach was extraordinary. Cathedral cove was awe-inspiring. Geoff & Kevin provided an informative narrative throughout the entire trip. Just breathtaking.

in this May, i went to Coromandel with bush&beach coromandel day tour, with friendly guide Sean :) it started very early in the moring, but it didn't matter at all. because he is very kind and cheerful!
it was my first time to explore NewZealand's southern island, and i was looking forward to it very much. and surprisingly, this tour fulfilled it!
i really enjoyed many fascinating and lively places. Coromandel beach, Cathedral cove, hot water beach, walking rainforest(i remember this named Waiau Kauri Grove), driving creek gave me really deep impression. and also i could able to be inspired about many things. oh and lunch at cafe was really fresh and delicious :)
it was my taste haha.
but MOST impressive of all, it was effort and kindness of our guide, Sean!
i'm not English speaker, so sometimes it is hard for me to understand English explanations.
Sean understands that, and he was considerate of us. Sean gave us detailed and appropriate explanation, and that his explanation gave us a perfect and very abundant understanding of what we experienced.
had it not been for him, I would not have made such a satisfactory trip. really! and his experiences and thoughts helped us to feel deeply about Coromandel and New Zealand.
you know, the role of guides is not just to guide. The important thing is to help people feel and remember what they experienced. in many ways, such like memory, emotion, thinking , conversation. (oh and photo of course haha)
In that sense Sean was the best. He may not think so, but at least me and my sister clearly felt that way.
Thanks to him, we could get beautiful memories, meaningful thoughts, useful knowledge, and even fantastic photos. Choosing this tour was a great choice. I will never forget the Coromandel tour of that day. I want to go back to New Zealand already!! hahaha
I really recommend this tour program. You can not have a more satisfactory and fruitful experience on the North Island of New Zealand. You can get knowledge, fantastic scenery, photos, delicious food, and even touched! not a joking, it's sincerely.
With affection and gratitude to Stephen and Sean who shared that day with us, I'm done with my review. I hope my review helps everyone. Especially for Koreans who travel to New Zealand for the first time. Don't hesitate! ㅋㅋㅋ

가이드님이 매우 친절하시고 설명 들으면서 다니니까 너무너무 인상깊고 소중한 경험이었습니다. 저도 체력이 그리 좋은 편은 아닌데 신선한 공기와 좋은 풍경, 좋은 사람들과 함께 다니니까 힘든줄도 모르겠더라고요 ㅋㅋ 전일 투어지만 그리 힘들진 않아요. 오클랜드에서 왕복4시간이라 이동시간이 쫌 벅차긴 한데 그것만 빼면 다 좋아요! 근데 어차피 운전도 가이드분께서 다 해주셔서...!ㅋㅋㅋ 픽업과 드랍도 숙소까지 다 해주시고요!ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

we had an absolutely fantastic day. The Coromandel is one of the most beautiful places i have ever been. I did this exact same trip 3 years ago, and it was just as good (if not better) the second time around
the scenery is SPECTACULAR.
the stops in Thames, and at Dry Creek Railway & Pottery and at Hot Water Beach were all truly memorable.
the lunch was also fantastic
but the best part of the day was the tour guide (Sean). Not only was he a wealth of information, but he also talked in a way that you really enjoyed listening and learning, both about the specific places we visited and also about New Zealand in general.
one of the things that make Sean such a great tour guide is that at every stop he always makes the effort to talk to every member of the group to see if they have any questions or if they need anything.
all in all, this is one of the very best day trips i have done anywhere in the world.

Dawn and Damien gave my wife and I a fantastic tour -- it was the full day Coromandel tour-- plenty to see of the beautiful country side, great lunch, a good hike to Cathedral cove and much more. Damien kept us entertained with his stories of the NZ history-- an amazingly detailed story that was unlike anything we gathered in our entire 3 week trip in NZ. They were both terrific!!!!

We thought this was going to be a long day so were happy to have a driver. Olly our driver was first class and very knowledgeable, the day flew by. He gave us lots of information about the country, fauna and indigenous animals. The stops at hot water beach, cathedral cove, local tall trees and mountain railway ride were all interspersed with informative narrative from our guide. The views were spectacular and all we had to do was site back and listen.
