Komodo Dragons, Turtles and a Manta Ray
The day was magnificent! Super well organised, helpful informative guides. We climbed the volcano, swam with turtles and a manta ray. We were very fortunate to see multiple komodo dragons, both male and female, and young ones.

          Best day ever!
This was an amazing day! Well priced when compared to similar tours run by the luxury hotels, plenty of sights and we did see Komodo dragons. The snorkelling spots were unreal, there were dozens of sea turtles around us at turtle Point and everything we saw was just beautiful. The crew were very helpful and friendly. The boat is an older boat and can get cramped but it did the job.

Amazing experience, get to see everything!!
This was the most amazing trip, it’s a long day but 100% worth it. An early wake up but a quick and easy pick up meant we were quickly on our way in the boat. A small group of us so plenty of space on during the trip. So many amazing stops and so many beautiful views with the opportunity to see Komodo dragons, Manta Rays and so many turtles. The people running our trip were very welcoming and helped us to have the best time with some good food along the way.

          Great experience!
Great experience with so many great stops! Incredible views on Padar Island, saw multiple Komodo dragons and great snorkeling! I was most excited about the Komodo dragons but the snorkeling experience was probably my favorite! Our group got lucky and saw a manta ray! Be prepared that the boat rides were a bit choppy and unpleasant at times, but that’s just the nature of being on sea and can’t be helped.

          Perfect experience
Amazing experience. Everything was perfect, the 4 guides were extremely friendly and could not do enough for us. The early start meant we were ahead of the rest of the boats and saw all the sights first. The boat was great, not the one on the picture. very Modern and comfortable, ( very clean windows or sit outside) for the approx 12 of us on the tour with toilet and coolbox. The snorkelling gear was in great condition. The guides knew where to find the sharks, turtles and mantas. The Komodo tour was great, the dragons we took the photos with may have been enticed there but we saw plenty of wild ones aswell. Although everyone does the same tour there with Komodo guides. Lunch was good. No need to book on Tripadvisor. Text Doddy direct through the number on their google maps for much better rates. (Around 1.5M in May 24) He was very flexible with cash/card/bank payment.

          Don’t think twice! Book it!
Absolutely exceeded expectations. With minimal time in Labuan Bajo, we saw all of the major highlights we wanted to and more! The crew was fantastic and made everyone on the trip feel safe and comfortable. The crew was willing to call audibles in the itinerary to accommodate what everyone was looking for.

          One of the best experiences
it was one of the best experiences in Bali. when someone introduces you to their culture, history and way of life in this way, it becomes clear to you why we feel good in these places. I have already read a lot about Bali in books, but this trip gave me more information and insights. the guys are really fantastic so is the food, if the journey takes me to their places again, I will definitely do it again. About the purification ceremony, it is something that is difficult to describe, so amazing. Thank you for one of the best experiences

          Awesome experience
Pros: the tour includes a lot - has an early start then we hop in a speed boat with lovely funny tour guides/staff that explain what we are seeing as we go. We managed to see 4 dragons at the national park and we saw a lovely view at the top of the mountain and a green viper! At manta point we saw a turtle and along the way managed to see 2 manta rays - sadly they were too deep though so it was a bit difficult to see them. The staff are also very generous and gave us so much water, watermelon and a proper lunch at the komodo national Park as well as a cinnamon bun at the end as a gift :) Cons: honestly the only issue is that the boat was very very old and falling apart, specially the interior. The windows were foggy and full of scratches so it was difficult to see out of the window. The toilet was virtually unusable too. It would have been better if we had travelled in a well maintained and newer boat. I'm a bit concerned of the safety in this regard. Overall, this was a rewarding experience and we enjoyed it very much. The views are amazing and we also experienced a wonderful sunrise. Thank you! Terima kasih

          Overall amazing, but small boat
Our guides were great, we got to see tons of wildlife and some pretty beaches. The only downside was we had a very small boat that is completely different than what is shown in the pictures. Knowing that, I would definitely book again.

          Exceptional service!
From the outset, the exceptional service of the One Day Komodo boat tour team surpassed all expectations. Anticipating my need for a drone permit, Doddy graciously assisted with the application process, going above and beyond. Despite a setback when my drone went missing, already having the permit, we embarked on the tour with slightly subdued spirits. However, at the harbor on the morning of the trip, Doddy's team informed me that a local had found my drone, demonstrating remarkable kindness and assistance in facilitating its return. Throughout the tour, the crew, led by Herri, exemplified professionalism and warmth, ensuring our comfort and safety at every turn. Despite our fatigue, they accommodated us graciously, even capturing stunning underwater footage of manta rays and corals. From start to finish, their dedication and expertise left a lasting impression. Highly recommended, especially for those with limited time to explore the national park. THANK YOU Doddy, Herri, and the entire team for an unforgettable experience. Looking forward to returning in the future!

Great team, great tour, lovely dragons, mantas & turtles
I did the full day trip to Komodo National Park. The boat was smaller and comfortable and I was glad that the group was not too big (around 18 people). First stop was Padar with the famous viewpoint. I was a little shocked how busy it was but when we arrived at the top of the hill, most people have left as they already made there way down (I guess they arrived with an overnight cruise for sunrise). So timing was good! Our guide speaks good english and it he is also a great photographer because he was keen to take photos of everyone on the viewpoint. Next was pink beach for snorkelling, afterwards Komodo Island. They say that you do not always see the dragons because the island is huge. It is a nice trick to keep people expectations low but in the end I am pretty sure you always see dragons. The area around the beach has food stands and souvenirs and of course this attracts the animals. So when we arrived we saw right away a dragon walking around the beach. It was amazing! We did a little walk with a ranger and saw 5 more dragons. Most of them hang around near the beach. In the end, it felt a bit like an organized „safari“ or zoo because many groups of people visit the island and the stalls of food (you have lunch there) and souvenirs doesn‘t fit to this wonderful piece of nature. I also bet, it will only become worse as the government doesn‘t have interest to control tourism and control it in a sustainable way (see Bali). But this is a different topic and I was just happy that we found the dragons. Tip: if you want the real adventure of Komodo, try to find a private tour with guide who will hike around the island the whole day. Next stop was snorkeling around a sand bank. Due to high tide we started from a point where we could flow with the current and that was simply amazing! Next stop was Manta point and we managed to see 2 Mantas! Also here we used the stream of the current and it was like beeing in a movie theatre. You just let the scenery of wonderful marine life pass by. So colorful, healthy corals, happy fishis. Last stop was snorkeling at a turtle spot. And yes, we saw many of these lovely creatures. Thank you Bintang Tours for making this full day tour so successful, for the nice and helpful team and the expertise.

Overall an OK tour. As another review said, there are cheaper options for the same tour on Labuan Bajo.
Sadly nobody told us August was part of mating season for Komodo Dragons so we didn’t see much of them. Also didn’t see sea turtles or mantas, which was highly disappointing. Staff and tour guide were nice and food was ok too. It was a little disappointing to use a lot of plastic water bottles. Our tour finished at 1pm on the last day even though we have our flight at 5pm. So it wasn’t three days. Also on the last day we only visited one Island (Karawa), not two. It was quite dirty with trash but a good point for snorkeling. Also it seems as the Komodo dragons are somewhat trained and not dangerous at all even though our tour guides told us otherwise. I saw a big group of tourists a couple of times tailing a big Komodo Dragon closely while the animal just walked his way lol! And I say trained because rangers took a lot of photos and made a certain noise/word and the Komodos raised their heads.

I would recommend this tour for those who don’t mind spending. Also I was asked of our tour guide to tip the ship staff. I was also told that I was expected to pay 1.000.000/person for entry fees and it was over that, so carry a lot of cash with you. It was around 1.500.000/person. Also we had to pay for parking the boat at one island.

If comfort isn’t your top priority this tour is good for you.

Honestly, it was beautiful, but I know it could’ve been much better.

Also not related to the tour but about Komodo National Park: A ranger told me he volunteered there because he loved it, but it turns out he did get paid (I asked another staff) lol. I found it quite a weird thing to say.

Dear Maps388, Thank you for writing a review on our account about 3 days komodo private boat tour in komodo national park. we appreciated for your review. herewith, let us clarify your review above. firstly, our price is not higher then as this tour is a private boat charter. you might have some prices of private boat charter from another company to compare with us, so we can explain you more it. secondly, you have opportunity to see komodo dragon in komodo island. our tour guide said that you saw 5 big komodo dragon in komodo island during your trekking (we still have your picture with komodo dragon with us). normally in mating season you even could not see them. So, you were lucky to see 5 in mating season like this. it was a huge number of dragon if we compare with other people that could not see them in komodo island. thirdly, boat crew said the boat stopped in manta point to give you a good chance for snorkeling to see Manta ray. unfortunately, the current and windy was very strong. that is why you could not do snorkeling in manta point. your safety is our priority. fourthly, you also did snorkeling in siaba island to see the turtle but you could see them as they are in wild life. our boat crew and tour guide promised you to snorkeling again next morning (day3), but again the windy and current was very strong there then you, tour guide and boat crew decided to move to kanawa island for snorkeling. next, I have informed you about entrance fee erliear even at the time of your booking, so it was clearly mentioned on booking document as all entrance fee was not included in the price. lastly, We really appreciate and welcome for your review and hope to see you again next time. best Regards

Great trip that delivered! My wife and I booked a private tour. Our captain, cook and tour guide were great. Our home was a very rustic converted fishing vessel. Kinda like camping on the ocean. Exactly what we wanted. We loved every second of our time. Komodo Island was fine, and we saw several dragons, but the real adventure is being on the boat and in the ocean. Touring other islands and beaches. Go private and they are flexible on the daily schedule which we loved. Swimming and snorkeling with giant sea turtles and giant manta rays was exceptional. To see the thousands of flying foxes at dusk was very cool. The abundance of flora and fauna on this trip is excellent. Some of the more remote coral reefs are the best we’ve ever seen… incredible coral and thousands of tropical fish. I brought my fly rods and had a great time out with our captain and guide fishing. They were very flexible and basically allowed me and my wife to modify the schedule. Such an easy, fun, flexible trip.

It sounds like you had an amazing time on your private tour! It's great to hear that the crew took such good care of you and that you enjoyed the rustic feel of the converted fishing vessel. It's also wonderful to hear that you had the flexibility to modify the schedule and really make the most of your time exploring the islands and beaches. Seeing the Komodo dragons and other wildlife sounds like a real highlight, and the snorkeling with sea turtles and manta rays must have been incredible. It's great that you were able to do some fishing as well. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Dear 49dariusz, Warmest greetinga from Bintang Komodo Team, Thank you for taking your time to leave your review in our account. We are so sorry for the inconvinience situation on that period. Our team sent you to the wrong boat. I did not know it until you call me about the boat. Then, we decided to send the boat that you supposed to use. The boat moved to pick you up on first boat then the boat crash the window of first boat. This was of course our captain false. Then, I called you to talk about the changing to other boat but you rejected to talk to me. I called you to talk if you would like to use another boat and do the tour. But, again you rejected my call and decided to cancel the tour. Then you told to our guide to send you full refund. We agreed to send you full refund right after you told to our tour guide. The full amound of refund was sent to you succesfully. Again that we are so sorry for this inconvinience. See you next time in Komodo island and will try to serve you better.

A boat tour around Flores and other nearby islands is a must if you are visiting Labuan Bajo. Bintang Komodo Tours put together an excellent itinerary for us which covered Kelor island, Rinca island, Komodo National Park, Pink beach, Padar Island, and Taka Makassar island. Each day was filled with hiking, swimming in the ocean, snorkelling among others. The meals and hospitality onboard from the crew were amazing.

Our guide Vitus (Vito) made a good trip an amazing one. He went all-out for making our trip as smooth and memorable as possible. He is also an excellent photographer. If you leave your camera phone with him, he would take great photos from the best possible spots at each destination.

P.S. the bathroom on the boat may take a little getting used to. But no big deal.

It was an incredible experience. Afin and the entire boat crew were spectacular. All the tours were very fun and we were taken at almost the perfect times. Right before the big crowds came in and enough time for us to snap our pictures or video recordings.

Now onto what most would be concerned about, the boat itself. I thought it was good. It was comfortable to sleep in after long days of swimming and hiking. Good enough space to get the job done. Plenty of outlets available. Is it the best boat you'll see out in sea? No, but for the price you're paying. You will be getting the best bang for your buck.

The food? My goodness, the cooks were amazing. There wasn't a single meal that was disappointing or subpar. They were all fantastic. Freshly caught fish for dinner? Yes please!!

All in all, I would highly recommend this tour for anyone considering it. Life long memories were created and I couldn't be any more thankful to everything that contributed to making it happen. Well done and thank you.

This was an absolute highlight from our month long trip to Indonesia.

We started with a three day boat trip around Komodo with our amazing guide Ryann (Ary).

Ryann provided us with great history of the area, the islands and most importantly the people.

We enjoyed the trip so much that we booked with Ryann again a few days later to take us to Way Rebo Village hiking high into the mountains and staying overnight with the locals who live there.

An amazing, immersive, local experience. We stopped at many places and collages that Ryann is familiar with and even harvested f
Some coconut and mango from his family’s trees.

Great English speaker and if you want to experience Labuan Bajo from a local, non-tourist perspective this is the trip.

Very pleasant tour, especially to see a lot of interesting snorkeling site. Komodo dragons itself are impressive, but looks like tourist attraction.
Guide and boat crew are professionally managed their duties.
Would recommend to place some charts and graphics of reef's wildlife. Also WiFi router will be useful on a boat.

Swimming with Manta rays and turtles, snorkelling with stunning fish in the corral. Seeing the Komodo dragons of all different sizes. Stunning views, sunrises, sunsets and star gazing. Some delicious food on the boat.

The only downside was that it felt like the trip was for three of us , not two. We were always sharing the experience with the guide who stayed on the boat, meals, drinks and even when we were trying to relax on the boat on the upper deck with a drink in the evening as mother and daughter, we were having to share our personal duty free items with him. It was not a big issue but it would have been nice to have some time just the two of us in the evenings.

        Overall though an incredible experience.

We had a really good adventure. Our guide, Robert, and boat captain Wiro took good care of us and made sure that we enjoyed the tour of the Komodo island and surrounding spots. Food was good, snorkeling and hikes amazing. Captain Wiro's singing was pretty awesome too!

Great time, hope to come back one day for another adventure!
