- suew57201700FabulousThe 3 days & 2 nights on the boat were fantastic. Our guide and the crew were wonderful. The views from the top of Padar Island were spectacular. We saw 5 Komodo Dragons on Komodo Island and my husband snorkelled with manta days at Manta Point. Probably wouldn't do the 4th day waterfall and Rangko cave again, although the guide (different one from the boat trip) & driver were great.
- JLPTG7500Wonderful tourWe did the 4 days tour - a French family of 4with 2 kids 8y and 12y - and our expérience was just wonderful. The boat was great with enough Space and all we require;Minimum confort on this traditional boat fair price/quality. The team on boat was very helpful and was looking very well after us anticipating as much as possible our needs. Cooking was great to - juste ask for non spicy 😂. Our guide during the tour was , Rian did our tour one of the best experience we have with our kids. Planning was updated taking into consideration weather, our préférence and the possibility to optimize snorkeling with kids. Everything was perfect and we see turtles (5 Times), sharks (2 Times) and even Mantas !! We highly recommend this tour and do not hésitâte to ask Rian as guide 👍
- Vuilleumier N00Nice experience :)A great experience on boat! Everything was perfect! Great landscapes, incredible snorkeling trips with manta rays, turtles, sharks... good food and a staff very helpfull and nice. Thanks for all!
- Maps3881603303900mixed feelings, but overall OKOverall an OK tour. As another review said, there are cheaper options for the same tour on Labuan Bajo. Sadly nobody told us August was part of mating season for Komodo Dragons so we didn’t see much of them. Also didn’t see sea turtles or mantas, which was highly disappointing. Staff and tour guide were nice and food was ok too. It was a little disappointing to use a lot of plastic water bottles. Our tour finished at 1pm on the last day even though we have our flight at 5pm. So it wasn’t three days. Also on the last day we only visited one Island (Karawa), not two. It was quite dirty with trash but a good point for snorkeling. Also it seems as the Komodo dragons are somewhat trained and not dangerous at all even though our tour guides told us otherwise. I saw a big group of tourists a couple of times tailing a big Komodo Dragon closely while the animal just walked his way lol! And I say trained because rangers took a lot of photos and made a certain noise/word and the Komodos raised their heads. I would recommend this tour for those who don’t mind spending. Also I was asked of our tour guide to tip the ship staff. I was also told that I was expected to pay 1.000.000/person for entry fees and it was over that, so carry a lot of cash with you. It was around 1.500.000/person. Also we had to pay for parking the boat at one island. If comfort isn’t your top priority this tour is good for you. Honestly, it was beautiful, but I know it could’ve been much better. Also not related to the tour but about Komodo National Park: A ranger told me he volunteered there because he loved it, but it turns out he did get paid (I asked another staff) lol. I found it quite a weird thing to say.
- Darryl K00Excellent Tour and experienceVery good tour and excellent way to experience Bali culture and ask as many questions as you want! The food was amazing and the tour guides are excellent. Would highly recommend over any other Bali tours as we did them all and this one is by far the best.
- 547freddied00Simply SuperbDoddy and Yanto were amazing from start to finish, they really made an effort to make sure the trip was tailored to our interests and their local knowledge meant that we were sure not to miss a thing. The crew on the boat and the food was also fantastic. From the Komodo Dragons to tours of the gorgeous islands around Flores and seeing Turtles and Manta Rays around the pristine coral reefs. Everything was thought of and it really was a highlight of our honeymoon. Thank you once again.
- Passport6291331619800Incredible boat trip in KomodoAmazing experience. The best: the kind and fun guide, the daylight sailing in breathtaking landscapes, the Komodo dragons and snorkeling in rich and colorful reefs full of life and around the elegant manta rays. To better: the room and bathroom of the boat.
- Matthew P00Great company and fantastic memorable tripHighly recommend using Doddy and his team for your trip to Komodo and the surroundings! We took a 3 day 2 night trip and booked with Doddy after some friends in Singapore had used him prior. This was an amazing few days that I cannot recommend enough. Doddy is great and so easy to speak with him on Whatsapp ahead of arrival in LB. He was there with our guide Alifan at the airport and we drove to the port via the supermarket (good selection of beers and wine which they will keep cold on boat) to jump on the boat. Great boat and fantastic crew of four on top of the guide who will be with you the whole trip. These guys are experienced, the crew are great and despite language barriers a good laugh, we felt extremely safe and that they knew this area inside out. This included moving the boat in the early hours due to tides enabling us to have the best sleep and most productive of days maximising time we had. The food is good and plentiful, all fresh and on the last night we had fish that they had bought from a fishing boat who pulled alongside late afternoon. Fried bananas and fresh smoothies brought up to the top deck whilst you are relaxing after a straight after a few hours snorkelling, amazing! After dinner we enjoyed sitting on the top deck relaxing with a drink in the bean bags watching the stars. Yes we saw the Komodo dragons, but the real activity highlight was the snorkelling and seeing Mantas, many Turtles and even reef sharks or perhaps the 50 or 60 dolphins that surrounded the boat as we headed into Komodo island itself. As others have mentioned, initially this is not luxury but an hour into the sea and you've forgotten all about.... the boat was kept spotless, with the crew consistently mopping and sweeping, yes shower in your flip flops, but enjoy the experience and savour what is truly a very memorable trip. Thanks to Doddy, Alifan, and the great crew of Gian Putra. We will be back for sure!
- Brittani T00The Best and Only Way to Tour the Komodo IslandsI want to start by saying I had an absolutely amazing experience. Rian was an excellent guide, and he went above and beyond to make sure that we had a memorable trip. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Here are the highlights for me (a bit out of order): We saw Komodo dragons in their natural habitat at the national park. Rian made sure we got some great pictures while maintaining a safe distance. We also had the opportunity to hike through the forest and see other wildlife, such as deer, wild boars, and monkeys. So much snorkeling! We say manta rays, turtles, a little shark and so much more. I’ve never seen such an active reef, and Rian was so knowledgeable of all the wildlife. On our last day, we visited the Rangko Cave. The cave was stunning, and we were able to see some amazing stalactites and stalagmites. Rian also took us to a waterfall, where we had a refreshing swim. The pictures he took of us here were breathtaking. The rest of the crew was also elite. They didn’t let us lift a finger the whole time we were on the boat. Every meal was worth a Michelin star. They also took great care to cook things separately for me to accommodate an allergy which I really appreciated. In all, I highly recommend Rian as a guide. He is knowledgeable, experienced, and friendly. He made sure that we had a safe and enjoyable trip, and he went out of his way to make our experience special.
- SleeplessinSD00A very professional operationMy husband and I booked a private boat for our three-day, two-night tour of Komodo National Park and its surroundings, paying $1200 for the boat (park fees were additional). Overall we felt Doddy did an excellent job of organizing our excursion, delivering exactly what he had promised. Our guide, Robert, was thoughtful and conscientious, and the crew worked hard to run the boat and deliver decent meals. We experienced some electrifying encounters with Komodo Dragons and experienced many other unforgettable moments. I should caution that for what we paid, the accommodations were hardly luxurious. When booking my tour, I just asked the price, got an answer from Doddy, and figured that was that. Now that I’ve been there, I think maybe I should have gotten more information about what a somewhat more upgraded experience would cost. Clearly there are many boat options in Labuan Bajo. In terms of operators, however, we felt that Doddy and his organization were reliable, responsible, seasoned. That’s exactly what we wanted.
- Jaap-Beusichem00Amazing boat trip Komodo islandsWe took a 4 days 3 nights private boat tour. Although we have travelled a lot, this was one of our best tours ever! An unique experience. Of cause it’s great to see the Komodo dragons, but the real adventure was being on the water in such a beautiful surrounding. We’ve done a lot of snorkelling, and saw fishes like the giant manta’s, lion fishes, sharks, and enormous varieties of beautiful smaller fishes, swimming around the numerous colourful coral reefs. But we also saw dolphins and turtles. One of the most amazing things we’ve ever seen where the thousands of large bats, suddenly rising up from the mangroves at sunset. The trip itself was great too. Just being on the boat, with the amazing views, beautiful islands and beaches, sunsets and sunrises, the feeling of freedom… We had a very friendly and helpful guide, Robert, who accompanied us on all our trips to show around. On the boat a crew of a captain, 2 boat maids and 1 cook did a great job. The food on the boat was great too! It was not the most beautiful and luxury boat, but we got to love it once we got used to it! Doddy, our contact at Bintang Komodo tours, was very communicative from the first moment on, also after we did the downpayment. Jaap, Madelinde and Oscar Netherlands.
- Car0le_R201400Excellent 3day boat tour of Komodo and moreWe have returned from our three-day, two-night tour with Yanto with complete satisfaction and delight. Yanto was an excellent guide for us for several reasons. First, his English is very good, so his communication of area knowledge was effective. Additionally, his knowledge is extensive and was beneficial to us. Next, and really important, is that he was always aware of our safety boarding and moving about the boats. Especially because I am no longer young or limber, this was important to me. He extended this concern to the staff, too, so that anyone near me quickly offered me a hand when needed. The staff were great, too, offering us delicious and varied food throughout the tour. I was also impressed with the skilled maneuvering of the boat and dingy. Yanto altered the plans to accommodate our desires, eliminating difficult treks, while still allowing us to see the beauty of the region and including lots of snorkeling in different places. Plus, while snorkeling, Yanto advised us of any conditions requiring extra caution, sometimes leading me with his hand through gorgeous coral gardens. We also had meaningful conversations together, sharing our mutual pleasure and gratitude for the Flores region. Yanto is the best! Thank you for offering us this tour.
- Gemma M00A fantastic dayMy husband and I went on this tour in November, we'd give this tour 10 stars if we could! The tour guides were fantastic, friendly and informative. The views were breathtaking, we saw loads komodo dragons, manta rays and even a few turtles. We recommend everyone to take this trip with Bintang tours, you will not regret it!! Thank you again, it is an experience we will never forget!
- evanbK9432SV00Must-Do ActivityAfin and the rest of the crew gave us such an incredible trip, it was the highlight of our entire time in Indonesia. The boat was comfortable, the food phenomenal, and the schedule incredibly fulfilling. We got incredible views from hikes, saw Komodo Dragons, and snorkeled with turtles, manta rays, and tons of fish. Everybody at Bintang was so accommodating and helpful, we could not recommend more.
- Cld205300Best Komodo tourThis 3-day Komodo boat tour was wonderful! We were able to see Komodo Dragons, Manta Rays, Flying Foxes (fruit bats), Pink Sand Beach, several hikes to viewpoints, and lots of snorkeling with healthy reefs and lots of fish. The guide, Van, and the boat crew were great! They attended to all our needs and desires. The cook prepared some of the best food we've had in Indonesia. I highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic experience with Bintang, the staff were very friendly and helpful and you get to experience a lot of nature and wildlife in one day!
Each of the stops you make are worthwhile and the included lunch, water and snacks were great.
Personally I would have preferred to spend slightly less time sunbathing on the beaches and more time snorkelling as each of the snorkelling stops in the afternoon was quite quick.
We managed to see both turtles and manta rays during this time but they were quite quick glimpses and more time snorkelling would have been welcomed.
A great way to see Komodo and the surrounding areas, I would definitely recommend this trip to others.

The staff helped me for the snorkelling as I am not a great swimmer. They were very encouraging and helpfull. We visited all of the attractions before most of the other groups so it was less crowded. It was overall a great experience!

They picked us up right on time and we were on our way in no time. We’ve met all the people on the boat and there was a great atmosphere. The crew was clear in what we were going to do and made some jokes, after that we headed off to the first location. Very touristic place which made us skeptical at first, but we moved soon after and the crew made sure that didn‘t happen again. It was great, some real quality time at some amazing places. Great reefs, manta‘s all around, turtles everywhere, it was great. At first we only saw a baby Komodo but we had the opportunity to walk for a little bit again whilst all the guys were contacting the other guides. After that we saw plenty and had a great lunch afterwards!
Amazing day, amazing people. Thank you crew and passengers, it was a blast.

Great tour! We were skeptic at first (due to minimal comm ahead of the trip). But the trip itself was excellent! Complete of all relevant sightseeings + several snorkling points. We got to the main attractions ahead of other tourists and felt like being alone there. Totally recommended!

Hi there,
I am looking to book a group of 9 to go to Komodo Island in 18/11/2022 but i have read that the park entrance fees may be increased now and that tours are going on strike? can you tell me if this true or if the old entry fees will be in effect in November?
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Rachel

I went on the tour mid-August 2022 and the entry fees were the old ones following a reversal by the policy makers due to the strikes. All news outlets currently confirm that the entree fees are remaining at their old prices until end of December 2022. As of be January 2023 they'll be at the new higher prices.
