It was far easier than we thought as we stopped along the way on the beaches for little rests. Views were beautiful and the operator gave us good instructions. My 11 yr old daughter could manage a single kayak across the lagoon to the sandy island, and an hour leaves time to enjoy a leisurely paddle or a more active exploration of the shallows if wanted. Our party of 5 had lots of fun on the water spotting wildlife with a swim afterwards and would do it again. Carl was also attentive when my son hurt his foot.Written December 28, 2023

Thoroughly explained the instructions on use of kayaking with winds etc. We went over to north Bribie Island paddled around golden beach taking in the sights. The hour went by too fast!! I had a one hour paddleboard lesson and even though I fear the water and falling off the bored, I felt supported and encouraged the whole time during my lesson. At one point I almost didn't go accross the passage but the trainer had patience and suggestions and we got the job done. The company is well experienced and knowledgeable and it was a fantastic experience. I'll kayak with them next because of the friendly service I received😊 I Definitly recommend then for beginners and children.
Thank you so much for the support in trying new things. We need more patient and supportive teachers like Golden Beach Hire.

I hired a stand up paddle board for a couple of hours, Carl was supportive with his instruction, focus on safety, awareness with tides. Had a great time such a nice experience to paddle over to Bribie, perfect area to paddle. Thanks Carl I will definitely be back. Highly recommend, great customer service.

Can not recommend this company enough! Not only do they offer great products and reasonable prices, but they also provide support regarding best times to go out in the water. (Often to their detriment - they have told me more than once not to come on a certain day because it’s bad weather. The fact they’re willing to give up a sale for good service is extremely impressive to me).
Carl (one of the owners) also went (extremely) out of his way today to help me And I am extremely grateful for all of his help. Will definitely rent equipment from them again. 😊

Best stand-up paddleboarding experience I've had to date. Excellent, excellent customer service from both Carl and Nicky, flexible, informative and helpful. Next time I go to Caloundra and SUP, I will go out of my way to use Golden Beach Hire. I cannot recommend this company enough!

We came unprepared, but it wasn’t a problem, we were lent a dry bag and waterproof watch free of charge. Friendly service, informative, helpful. Suggested other places to visit in the area. Gave great instruction before we set off and even stayed to check we reached the island. Cant recommend enough!

This was our first time SUP-ing and we loved it! Carl gave us a helpful and quick instructional session and we were underway after that. Even though the forecast was overcast with a little drizzle, this made for the perfect experience. The water was calm and glassy (easy conditions to work out where our balance was on the boards) and there were no shadows to worry about when taking photos when we stopped on the sand bar. Booking process was quick and easy. An excellent experience all around!

2 adults and 2 small kids (4 and 7). Carl and Nicky were super friendly and patient as this was our first time doing SUP. It was a great experience and we will be doing more of this in the near future. We all enjoyed it and the older one had a go at it. She loved it and keen to try it again. Will highly recommend them.

My husband and I were at first both very anxious about the idea of trying out SUP. But Nikki and Carl had us standing and paddling with confidence within minutes. The boards are good quality and definitely novice/beginner friendly. They even held onto our keys or phones while we were out on the water. Money well spent for a morning out on the water!

My daughters and I wanted to try paddle boarding for the first time while on holiday. We just showed up and I was quite overwhelmed and surprised at how fantastic and attentive the staff are. My 16 year old has autism and an intellectual disability and honestly can be quite difficult to manage sometimes. Nicky and other staff members were incredibly inclusive and accommodating and I cannot recommend them highly enough to everyone who is planning a Sunshine Coast holiday but particularly other families like mine who have children with complex needs. Thank you for your kindness and care. It was greatly appreciated by our family.
