- MoodrillerToo00Great experience, would do it againAllan was great we came in on the Allure and found him outside the main gate among a crowd of like 100 tour guides with signs. He encouraged us to add the zipline to our tour but we didn’t bring enough cash or a card ( would definitely recommend bringing extra of both ) we started off visiting the animals which was awesome and then did random stops at the rum shop, chocolate factory, and then the glass bottom boat, we missed one of the boats so after about 20 minutes switched to a different one, great views of the reef, scuba divers, and fish. Definitely echo the, many of my family of five felt sick to their stomach from the rocking.
- RUBYHEARTVACATIONS00Best day ever with my 7 yr old daughter!Everything was amazing from the time Leonard picked us up until dropped off! We happened to be the only one on the tour which made it even better. First, Micheal and Owen at the zip line tour were so much fun. They treated my 7 yr old and me like family. The monkey and sloth tour was cute too. We loved the cute sloth. The horses...meh... They were so tired. It was just OK. The snorkeling was great too. We were the only ones everywhere we went. Bubba catered to us too. All in all, we crammed a lot in one day and loved it!
- C8558NYkayw00Chappin is AMAZING! Be back Soon!Chaplin was the most AMAZING guide. From arrival to departure he took care of EVERYTHING. I sent him a list of activities, both touristy and local, and he took care of EVERYTHING. All we had to do was show up. My family and I loved it here so much that we're coming back to buy property. He knows this island inside and out. Everything and everyone. We will definitely be booking him again, SOON!
- 14cwhit00Great for Families in Town from CruiseThe tour as excellent from start to finish. Our tour guide met us as described in the confirmation email and the walk to the zip line was five minutes. The zip line and the animals are in the same general area, which was great. The staff was very polite, helpful and funny. Also want to note that my children (12, 7) zip lined solo and had a blast. It was their first time, but you wouldn’t know aside from the first few pictures. lol For experienced zip liners, this is an amazing spot to hit because they show you how to do flips if you want. If you purchase pictures, be prepared to pay $20 for every two people. Our pictures were very high quality and they AirDropped them with ease. The tour guide for the animals was equally great and informative. I honestly didn’t think I’d enjoy this part of the excursion, but it was very good. The baby capuchins were just too cute and friendly and the birds were nice. The sloths were worth the hype—super cute, sweet little smiles, and gentle as ever. The snorkel part was at a local beach club. The ride from the zip line/animals was about 20 minutes in an air conditioned van. We did have to wait for the boat to return but waiting allowed us to grab food and drinks at the on site restaurant. Once out of the sea, snorkeling was great. Fish everywhere and the equipment was clean and worked. They brought us back to the pier with 2.5 hours to spare before departure. All in all, I’d do this tour again without hesitation!
- JoeR087300Shannel is is great guide!Shannel was the best. I didn't know that others had to pay for beach access, but Shannel acted like she owned the place and told the staff we're with her. No need to pay $15 per person. She was able to take us from one activity to another. By far the best excursion from Royal Carribean in my opinion. Ask for Shannel and you may get her!
- P5650GZlucyj00Four in one Roatan experienceThe experiences were absolutely amazing! We loved all four, although from the pics we thought we would be horseback riding along the beach but it was actually up a mountain to a gorgeous view which was also cool but basically the same as we got zip lining. Zip lining was really fun for all and we adored the sloths and monkeys. The snorkeling was also amazing. Giving four stars because overall seemed a little unorganized and communication wasn’t the best. I do think they were short a couple drivers the day we were there so that may not be the norm. Also, I was expecting to have one to two guides to tip in the end but there was one for horses, three for zip lining, one for the animals, two on the boat for snorkeling and then a bus driver so it was a little confusing. But overall it was a really fun day!
- F1816NDbenm00Car rental, airport shuttleI was greeted by Chapin at the airport and he patiently waited as I got through the customs line. I was staying in the Jonesville area and he gave me a ride there and was very informative and pointed out all the sights along the drive and kindly stopped in at Eldons supermarket for me to get some food. I arranged to rent a vehicle from him and he was kind enough to offer me a reasonable deal and gave me his phone number in case of emergencies or if I needed to book any tours through him. He also gave me a ride back to the airport and I had no issues with the vehicle rental. I would highly recommend Chapin for any tours or car rentals.
- jacquelleg00An Amazing Solo Adventure!I met Paul from Anderson Tours and he paired me with a tour guide and group to start my tour on time while he waited on a few persons who were running behind. I had the best tour guide(s) in Mahogany Bay! Allen and his friend George who happened to be in town took the best care of us on the island. I didn't know what I was in for as a solo traveler but they made sure all of my needs were met along with the rest of the group. When we stopped for fresh Rambutan (lycee) on the side of the gas station I knew it was going to be a sweet day! Allen knew everything about the island and answered all the questions from the group while George shared details of tourism and history of the cultures on the island. We drove around the tightest streets in that mini van but he had no fear of the hills and humps. We drove up the hill to a shopping spot with a beautiful cliff view (300 ft high); we drove down the hill to Mayan Eden to visit with the Monkeys and Sloths; we drove around the hill to the Mayak Chocolate shop and around the hill to the Rum shop. We kept going to Banarama where we were able to snorkel, grab lunch and eventually go parasailing. The reefs were gorgeous and the fish were friendly. They swam all around us and weren't camera shy at all. Even the jellyfish didn't sting. Up in the air I had a chance to view the island from 700 feet high. It felt like being on a swing in the clouds and I had no worries or cares for those 10 or so minutes. Back down on the pier Allen waited for us and made sure we were all packed away in his van before taking us back to the cruise ship. I can't wait to visit again! Hoping George will send my parasailing video soon. Carnival Glory 7/30 - 8/6
- l0lenat00Honeymoon fun!We did our tour with Allen and it was everything we expected plus more! He was so accommodating and provided transportation from our air bnb round trip. Very professional all around. Kept in contact and also provided us the opportunity to do an ATV tour as well. Prices were very reasonable. The Punta Gorda tour was special for me being of Garifuna descent and learning more about my culture and history. The mangrove tunnel experience was so beautiful! Every person we can in contact with through Allen was very welcoming and very professional. If you come to Roatan and need help with ANY activities Allen is the MAN!!! Thank you so much Allen, can’t wait to visit again!
- 928kcn00By far the best tour of our cruiseI went on a carnival cruise and booked 1 excursion through TripAdvisor and the other 2 trips through carnival. This was by far the best excursion! Me and my daughter went zip lining, snorkeling, and horseback riding! I would have had to book 3 separate excursions through carnival to do all this. Our tour guide also took us on a tour of the island and showed us a really good local place to eat! I wish I knew his name so I could tell everyone to ask for him, he was the best!! I highly recommend this tour! Ask for the tour guide who grew up on the island, met his wife in college on the island, and as 2 boys under the age of 10! He’s the man!!
- Z2050CGsc00Allan #1 tour guideAllan our driver aka Sexy Chocolate was amazing. Allan was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to create a well-planned experience and was flexible day-to-day. Allan took us on a tiki boat adventure, we toured the west Bay Area and also visited the community of punta Gorda. He was super personable and able to give the perfect insight about punta Gorda history with a balance of fun. No topic was off limits for discussion, and he was a great listener. I would recommend Allan from now until forever - when I go back to Roatan, I'm definitely getting back in touch.
- Jill C00Great day in Roatan! We got off the boat and walked to the street to meet our guide, Daniel. We had a fabulous day of zip line, holding animals, boat ride to snorkel, and horseback riding. When we got to the horseback ride the horses had just left on our tour and we were going to have to wait so Daniel took us to snorkel first. I liked that we were able to switch plans based on our families plans vs a big tour where you just have to wait. We could leave our things in the van and Daniel was always there waiting when we got done with an activity. He was there to take pictures or make stops whenever we wanted. Highly recommend him and this company!
- kannef00Amazing, exciting, fun, non-stop adventurous day!We had so much fun on this excursion! This was unanimously our favorite excursion of the 4 port days we had on our cruise, with our ages encompassing pre-teen, teen, 40s, and 70s. It was HOT and it kept us busy all day, so we ended up worn out (but happy) by the end of the day. After this excursion, we were on a few that included far too many people, and it made us appreciate this excursion that much more. The small groups were nice, especially when it came to snorkeling. We felt like we had time and could explore a little bit without being herded in a large mass. It was beautiful! One person in our group who has traveled a lot and snorkeled a bunch of places said that Roatan snorkeling is probably the best she's ever experienced. We had Allan/Sexy Chocolate, and he was a wonderful guide. He was very friendly and took care of an older member of our group who ended up too overheated to do some of the activities. (He kept her in air-conditioning and even bought her some lunch while they waited for us.) He kept track of time and got us back to the port in time, and it was nice hearing him talk about life in Roatan during our drive. I wanted to come back to Trip Advisor and add info that I had wondered about when we booked and wish I had known, to help others know what to expect. The day moves fast without much time to think about how to prep for what's up next. I think they sometimes do things in a different order, but this was our day: walk from port meeting spot to ziplines with Allan, truck ride to top of zipline, ride ziplines, see sloths and other animals (animal sanctuary is on zipline property), van ride to horseback riding (horseback ride was through natural area and along sidewalk to beach, into shallow water, then back to stables along sidewalk and down a dirt road), van ride to beach, brief wait at the beach (can swim in beautiful water during the wait), boat to snorkeling and then back to beach, then van ride back to port. We ziplined with about 6 others not in our group, and then the van rides, horseback, and snorkeling were with a different group, a family of 5 (10 total guests in van and on those parts of the excursion). My notes: SUNSCREEN: necessary, esp. for horseback and snorkel (swim shirts/rash guards are also helpful for both). Be aware that they ask people to wash sunscreen off of their arms before holding animals (outdoor sinks and soap provided); we forgot to re-apply after this because everything moved quickly, and we all ended up with burnt arms. Could have re-applied on van ride if we'd thought about it. CLOTHES: we weren't sure what to wear, given the variety of activities. We all ended up wearing swim stuff under clothes all day, which worked fine but probably made us hotter. Wish we'd known that there ARE changing rooms at the beach, so we could have carried swim stuff in a backpack and changed. There is a bathroom with flush toilets (1 small 1-toilet room per gender) at the beach as well. (Note: we did NOT stop at bathroom/changing area after snorkeling, went straight to the van.) SHOES: with horseback riding and ziplining, we thought we might need socks and tennis shoes. I think it was good to have covered toes for ziplining, but for horseback riding, would have preferred a strapped sandal (like Tevas) or water shoes. Would have changed shoes in van between zipline and horseback if we'd known this. The guides on the horseback ride actually stopped and came to each person before we rode into the water and asked if we wanted to have them take our shoes and socks off first, which was very nice of them. (They tied the shoes and socks to the saddles; horses didn't go deep enough to get our feet wet, but feet/shoes might get splashed.) But then we were barefoot at the end of the ride, which meant barefoot dismounting and walking on dirt until we could get shoes back on. WATER AND FOOD: we all started the day with our own filled 20-24oz water bottles and it was all gone once we got back to the van after horseback riding. It was HOT and humid, and we were thirsty. There is cold bottled water for sale (~$3 for large bottle) at a bar on the beach. I'm not sure if there's food at the bar, but there is no planned food or time to stop for it on this excursion, so bring snacks. (We brought nuts, beef jerky, granola bars.) ZIPLINING: they allow people to wear well-fitting sunglasses, hats, and travel purse/pouches with a phone secured inside. On some of the longer ziplines, they encouraged us to do tricks like hanging upside down while "flying" and hand-stands or flips off the platforms. No helmets were offered or worn. ANIMALS: it's a small area with a bunch of small enclosed spaces. Guide talked about the animals, we were able to touch or hold most (cavia, birds, monkeys, sloths). Could see how this might be overwhelmingly full during busy season. HORSEBACK RIDING: no need for tennis shoes, wish we'd worn strapped sandals or water shoes. This was very hot, bring hats and wear sunscreen. Guides took pictures of us on the horses. No helmets worn or offered. SNORKELING: they have the gear you need, including fins and life jackets (the kids chose to use life jackets, but they regretted it because it restricted free swimming). This isn't the responsibility of the tour company, but just to note, 2 of the men had mustaches and talked about the masks therefore not sealing and leaking salt water into their eyes, which hurt and got frustrating. They wished they'd brought regular swim goggles to use with the provided snorkel breathing tubes (even though nose then wouldn't be covered, but can just breathe through mouth and tube). STORAGE/BELONGINGS: at the zipline, they had lockers, but they were already full, so Allan had us take our stuff to the van. He kept it locked up while we did zipline, animals, and horseback riding. You'll want to keep with you money for tipping and your phones for pictures anyway, so it's smart to have a travel purse/pouch to keep on you. Allan had us bring all our stuff out of the van for snorkeling, so we carried backpacks, tennis shoes, and dry bag with towels on the boat to snorkel, and things got splashed. I was glad to have smaller dry bags and phone dry bags to keep things from getting wet. TIPS AND CASH: bring cash in case you need to buy water and for tipping lots of guides. If I recall correctly, there were 5 at the zipline, 2 (a guide and photographer, who we didn't buy from but who spent her time walking around with us) at the animals, 2-3 at the horses, 2 at snorkeling, and the all-day van driver/organizer/time-keeper (for us, Allan). TOWELS: bring towels. I kept them in a dry bag the whole day until we needed them after snorkeling. BUSY SEASON: Allan told us we were there in the slow season and that "winter" (around Dec.) is their busy season, which is when they sometimes don't have time for all activities (due to the number of people on the island and at each location, and the amount of time it takes to get back to port with so much traffic). Overall, our whole group recommends this excursion and would do it again given the chance.
- Nochujae00Great!All of the excursions for this package were great! Everyone of the staff were very nice and helpful and a little crazy! The way up to go zip lining is an extremely steep hill and you will be in the back of a truck, I advise you to wear shoes with good grip so you don’t fall off. It was such an exhilarating experience and for first time zipliners, I highly recommend it since it’s not too high up. The zoo was also pretty cool and we got to see a lot of exotic animals such as monkeys, sloths, toucans, etc in a closer setting. The biggest let down however was with snorkeling, we waited around an hour for the boat to come and by the time it did, we were only given 25 minutes total to snorkel which I was bummed about since I was looking forward to this the most. It’s the second largest barrier reef in the world and it was absolutely stunning and so so clear. Lots of colorful fish that swim right up around you, it’s about 20-30 feet deep in the area we were let down in and you have the option to wear a life vest or not. I really did wish we had the full 45 minutes to explore and enjoy our time but since everything was late, it felt rushed. Overall the experience was great and we made the most of our time despite the hour delay, I would love to come back and book an excursion for just the snorkeling trip to fully enjoy when I get the chance. Pros: Friendly service Clear instructions Good deal compared to cruise line Cons: Hour delay due to boat driver for snorkeling Remember: BRI
- Passports2Paris00On the fencePickup arrived a bit early but we were on time waiting for another couple we met in the airport who we actually sent the link to book this excursion too. Fast fwd the views were amazing (not so much over zip lines compared to Costa Rica) but the order of each activity was perfect considering the hot humid weather. The black guy huffed & puffed and really made me uncomfortable bc I didn’t feel welcomed. This was my second time zip lining and he would do 1-2-3 counting and go but my first take off I wasn’t ready on three: his body language said it all! He eventually said this wasn’t the job for him and complained about his cut hands and his previous injury. It didn’t help me feel SAFE at all. For a 5-6 hour journey- we were RUSHED. Our excursion took only 4.5 if that -hours and we had to ask them to stop so we can eat. We mentioned food several times- we didn’t need it provided as we have money but no refreshments is crazy especially if you’re going to ask for tips 5x per excursion in this type of heat. I’m willing to pay more for a group who appreciates my business although we tipped anyway we shouldn’t have.

This stop was a highlight of the trip. We came in on a cruise and connected with our guide really easily right in the parking lot where we got off the ship. We went for the sloths, which were amazing, but believe it or not, the other animals were even better! It was a family reunion group so we had kids from toddlers to teens, and they felt like they found their kindred spirits among the animals.
Can’t say enough good about our guide, though we’ve forgotten his name (maybe Howard, or Henry), who was friendly, informative, and so helpful. He stopped buy us some mangoes to feed the animals, and local fruit for us to eat; he helped my sister, who was in a wheel chair, and made a big deal about my nephew’s birthday. Truly a genuine and wonderful person.
Easy to coordinate with the cruise, cheaper than the cruise’s similar option, and more private too. Absolutely would recommend this again.

My family has been to Roatan 12 times out of our 20 cruise and Roatan is by far our favorite place to snorkel (go). Everyone at Anderson are knowledgeable of the island and go out of their way to make sure you have the best time possible with what little time you have. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
