Angelo and his team provided excellent services that included all private transfers, guided tours such as the Hanging Bridges and Waterfall hike! Me and my family went to Costa Rica from April 28 to May 3..beautiful weather!!! I was looking for someone to stay with us the whole trip and take us to all our activities. We had Angelo and we were very happy we did. He was always on time for pick up from the airport to picking us up at the hotel for all our activities. He made us an itinerary for the things we wanted to do but he was also very flexible. We were able to add and remove as we went, which is good because my husband's legs were really hurting so we had to adjust. He made really good suggestions for food, make sure he takes you to the pupsia place and el fogon de chela...so yummy!!! We had bookes the Mistico park and Angelo had his scope and we were able to see all the animals on our list, my kids loved it. He made it very memorable. Thank you Angelo for giving us a wonderful experience in Costa Rica. Will definitely recommend to all family and friends going to Costa rica!!! Pura vida!!

My best friend and I were visiting Manuel Antonio to see all the animals and enjoy the jungle & beaches. We booked a guided wildlife tour through Manuel Antonio National Park with Herbert (Hector) Vindas Madrigal. He was the absolute best guide! He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, animals, and their habitats. He made us feel so welcomed and made sure we had a great experience. I highly recommend booking with him. We would not have experienced all the amazing animals without his sharp eye and endless knowledge of the wildlife!

Give Angelo a call, let him know what you want to do and what you are interested in, and he'll take care of the rest. He picked us up at the airport in Liberia, drove us to each of our activities in the La Fortuna area, and the arranged for our transfer to Playa Avellanas and then back to the airport in Liberia at the end of our trip. His vehicles are well kept and comfortable. He was always on time to pick us up at our hotel for our activities and right there to pick us up and take us to our next activity or back to our hotel. He always had bottled water for us in the van, and was willing to stop whenever there was a need for food or a comfort break. A few of us in our family had been ill in the week prior to coming to CR and had a few unique requests as our recovery extended into the beginning of our trip. Angelo took us to several grocery stores where we could pick up the food that sounded good as we got ourselves to 100%. We really appreciated his willingness to be flexible when it came to our food needs at the beginning of our time in La Fortuna. A couple of things that going with Angelo gets you: incredible wildlife spotting, and great photos. The most amazing wildlife encounter was on the way to our night tour with him in El Secreto. On the way there we stopped along the main road out of La Fortuna and spotted a sloth in a tree about 100 yards away. One of his guide friends who was a long to drive that evening, simply whistled on a blade of grass and the sloth turned right to us. Then we went down the road and found a howler monkey and at our backs about a 1/4 mile away, Angelo had heard (out of the car window as we went along) a flock of toucans that we could see in a group of trees with his spotting scope. Now, the key to these great wildlife encounters was the utilization of Angelo's Swarovski spotting scope! He could aim that thing at animals and even leaf-cutter ants well beyond what the naked eye could take it and get exquisite details. And he was able to get photos and videos THRU THE SPOTTING SCOPE so we have these fantastic photos and videos of just exactly whrat we saw through the scope! What an awesome record of our critter encounters in CR! And he takes many photos and videos each time you are out and about with him, and he shares these with you at the end of night to bolster your own photos and videos that you constantly shoot down there because of the natural beauty you are seeing all around you. It was just great to have this built-in photographer so all of the family are documented on the trip! Angelo knows the best providers of the activities that are available all over the country. At Mistico Bridges near La Fortuna, he took us through the entire walk and pointed out many things that someone without a guide would not have seen. He was constantly pointing things out and setting up the spotting scope to take a closer look and other people walking the trail would stop by and look at what we were looking at. One of them admitted that she didn't think Mistico was that great until she finally saw what we were seeing. Angelo asked if they had hired a guide to take them through the park and she said no--sheepishly. I think she realized that she should have hired a guide! The most special experience he set up for us was a tubing trip down a stretch of Rio Celeste. He subcontracted a local guide who mostly guides Costa Ricans on vacation, so this particular experience we had felt more exclusive and for locals. We were the ONLY ones on that stretch of Rio Celeste for our entire tubing trip down the river for 90 minutes or so. We had the beautiful river to ourselves! It was just incredible! Chary (the river tubing provider) had a great guide for us on the river who helped us get un-stuck in several times--worked hard and cheerfully with us the whole time. All of the activity providers he chose for us were great and insured we had a once-in-a lifetime trip. DO IT RIGHT, GO WITH A GUIDE.

Beyond a doubt our trip with Costa Rica Expeditions was the highlight of our travel experience. This review is for our naturalist guide, Gustavo Camacho: There are no words to adequately convey what a wonderful person Gustavo is. Ultimately, he was the “gem” of our family vacation. He was considerate, always pleasant and flexible, and earnestly devoted to making our trip the best it could be. With his extensive knowledge, (of simply everything), he satisfied our curiosities and chatted with us as often as we desired about our interests and activities. We felt completely safe for our family in his care on outings, and relied on him to help us make decisions from what to order at restaurants to what to wear each day to coordinate with the weather. We feel incredibly fortunate that he was our guide. I am certain that all eleven of our family members would agree he was an indispensable part of our adventure and became an honorary part of our family. This man knows his stuff, and truly loves his job!!

Angelo was our tour guide and he was great. Family friendly and went above to try and ensure we saw as many animals as possible. The night time excursion was especially fun. Seeing the red eyed frog was a great note on which to end the day. He captured lots of great images and airdropped them at the end of the night. We were coming in from out of town and he was so flexible and helpful as traffic changed our arrival time. Would definitely recommend not just the daytime rainforest excursion, but nighttime as well. Angelo will give you a good experience!

We signed up for what we thought was a guided tour and ended up getting a private and customized experience. Angelo was knowledgable, funny, flexible and a lot of fun. In fact, we decided to sign up for a night tour with him too. If you are looking for a customized experience, this is the place to go. We ended up with amazing pictures and had a lot of laughs along the way. Angelo (and Alex our driver) were on time (or early), made custom stops for us, and gave us great recommendations for things to do. Also, Angelo's van and car are comfortable - can't stress that enough with the bumpy roads of Costa Rica (You'll know what i mean when you hire a standard cab). We ended up using this company to drive us from Fortuna to Monteverde too. There are so many companies to choose from but if you want a reliable, fun, and safe experience, this is your company.

We cannot recommend this company more highly. Angelo looked after us by organising all the trips and adventures before we had left the UK. Once we landed in Costa Rica, he was a superb guide, really taking care of us as a family. Our teenage boys loved everything he put on for us. Alex, his driver, was also superb. Pura Vida!

Angelo was great. He pointed out animals that we would never had seen ourselves during the tour including monkeys, bats and wild boars. One member of our group mentioned wanting to find a sloth. On the drive back after the tour, Angelo stopped several times to find sloths. He found three sloths and one carrying her baby. He did not have to stop but went above and beyond overhearing one friend talking about seeing a sloth and made it his mission to find a sloth. If I could give Angelo ten stars, I would!

Jose was great! He was definitely a local! The hanging bridges and waterfall were awesome. I was expecting a tour up to the volcano by the description and it was just a see in the distance situation. Jose was EXTREMELY informative about all life...it is definitely more of an eco tour than I was expected and certainly not adventurous. The La Fortuna waterfall is about 500 steps up/down, so be prepared! Good swimming area. The lunch destination Jose chose (which was included except for alcohol) was delicious!

The views from the viewing point are great can see for miles. Good view of the volcano , paths round ok but need to be reasonable fit , nice shop and cafe when you get back

This is my second time using Costa Rica Nature Guides. For this trip, they planned a three day trip for me and took care of everything. It made traveling so easy and stress-free! Highly recommend using for private transfer around the country plus arranging tours.
