- Jodi S00Okay but not greatThe people we had our day with were fun and friendly. The tour host was friendly but not very present on the tour other than on the bus. We didn’t see sunset and we ate in a crowded barrel-filled area of the winery, which we didn’t see at all because it was dark when we got there. The food was nothing special but nice and the wine was also quite nice. We needed less time in Sienna so we made it earlier to the winery. It was a lot of time in a bus for not that much of an experience. Ok not great
- U7426JWmaryk00Beautiful Italian history and landscapeWe had a spectacular day. Our guide, Martina, was amazing. She really seemed to care that everyone should have a good time, even though we were a large group. Her colleagues, Gaia and Raul were excellent too. The towns and countryside we saw were SO beautiful. They will last and last in my memory. Thank you so much!
- Elizabeth E00Florence in a dayFull day Tuscany tour - fantastic! Well planned and expertly executed day. It’s a long day and lots of walking but everything manageable. Sarah was our lead guide and she was perfect. She provided an overview of the day at the beginning of the tour and at each stop provided history and interesting points of interest to see. Sarah was good at communicating meeting times and location along with toilet stops. Katila (sorry about the spelling) was the second guide ushering the group of 80 and ensuing we all were safe in the car parks and that our ear pieces worked well. Shout out to Luca the bus driver - 340km in one day a smooth driving! Don’t hesitate to book!
- Nikola F00Unnecessary disruption and rushOur excursion should have departed at 1030. We departed at 1100. This is because a ship that we were not on had a change to the departure time. 30 minutes was spent with the two staff trying to manage the situation. If managed better one staff member could have dealt with this while the other staff member got the rest of the passengers onto the bus ready for departure. Once we arrived we had time to climb the leaning tower of Pisa and straight back down. There is no time factored in to manage any problems that may arise or even to use the bathroom. So disappointed at this experience and the rush. Even without the situation that occurred it would have been too rushed.
- YNotVacation00Half day wine tourWe visited two different vineyards and each was unique in their own way. The first vineyard was a bit more commercial but was very good and the second was an old school vineyard that was quant and had a great view.
- wpbjake00Great serviceWas there when we arrived and very friendly and personable. Safe drive who got us to the hotel safely
- suemV5428ZC00Decadent and deliciousGeorgio my driver was absolutely lovely and took the time to go out of his way to show me some of the local sights including San Gimignano. The dinner and wine tasting at Tenuta Torciano was a amazing experience. Just the ambience of sitting amongst the grape vines on a beautiful balmy night surrounded by candle light eating the food grown on the estate was superb but add the wonderful wines such as the famous Barello wines all tendered to my service by the lovely and knowledgeable Sabrina. The whole experience was lovely and if you are looking for something a little different with a tinge of decadence then I would highly recommend this tour.
- Trip62227700Kind Host but Way Too RushedThe small group wine tour offered great intimacy for the size of the group. The van used by Ciao Tours was extremely comfortable with greatly sized windows to view the countryside. My favorite part of the tour was the route. The selections of vineyards and a visit to a small village for cheese tasting allowed us to see various angles of Tuscany countryside and it was astounding. The first vineyard was wonderful and our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. The olive oil and selection of wines were lovely. However, the second half of the trip, including the second vineyard/winery was way too fast, they served us in paper cups and plates (bad for ambiance and environment) and we did not get to fully enjoy the 2nd stop. I really loved the first half of the tour, and it was a good experience overall.
- heatheraA9206GD00Long Day full of walkingWe had a very nice day just very long and tiring. Walked about 10 miles that day. Saw leaning tower of Pisa had a nice lunch at a winery. Saw town of Seina and San Geromino . All beautiful recommend but be prepared gone all day and walking.
- L_K150900I would not recommend this tourThis tour was provided by Ciao Florence Tours & Travels, booked via Viator. We did the one day visit to Cinque Terre from Florence, no lunch option. The day is very long, starting at 7am and arriving back at the meeting place at 7.30pm. 2 1/2 hour travelling each way. The coach was comfortable and thankfully air conditioned. The day unfortunately is rushed, extremely busy, and felt like we were forever rushing off to the next train (extremely busy) and battling the HUGE crowds. We were constantly moving with numerous other tours going on which meant everywhere was so busy. We only had 45 mins in Riomaggiore, then 45 mins in Manarola, finally 1 hour 50 mins in Monterosso, then 1 hour in Vernazza. The rest of the day is traveling on coach or trains, boat or waiting for the train. The boat is packed in like sardines, all seats taken so people have to stand in aisles or on the top deck. In my opinion it was dangerous, no safety information provided and a terrible accident in the making, again in my opinion pure greed. A crew member said the boat could take 400! I heard a lot of people voicing their concern prior to getting in the boat. I’m so glad I got to see some of Cinque Terre but I would not recommend this tour. Our guide was Daniele. She was friendly and approachable and gave directions and times for the next meeting place or told us which way to shops restaurants were etc, it would have been nice to have heard some history of the area on the journey there but appreciate this is not that kind of tour. There were 70 people on our tour, Daniele had to translate into three languages. I was only expecting an English tour. I felt it was too many people, clearly the greed of the company only interested in €€€.
- Tubbytummy00Far too rushed and crowdedIs is a Marmite tour, I can see why people love it and I can see why people hate it. Having done it , it did cover a lot of ground and sites but I would not do it again unless the format was changed. The positive were the tour guide, Danielle. She worked hard trying to keep the 70 people from diffident countries and languages together. The driver Gesippie, drove very smoothly and seemed very safe. There were too many people on the tour, far too many, with just one guide. You felt like you were being pushed round from one site to another, always watching your watch. The actual villages we packed full of other tours and streets very congested, I suppose a victim of its own success. We did see a lot, but no time to take in. I will say again staff worked hard, but the format worked against her. I would not recommend
- Escape0313759771100Private tour of Siena and San GimignanoHi Everyone, if you are considering a visit to both Sinena and San Gimignano while in Florence check out “Ciao Florence Tours and Travels”. A wonderfully run company with expert staff. We’ve had group tours on our Italy trip, and most are run well, but if you’re looking for quality and quantity consider a private vehicle tour with this company. We met up at our hotel in the morning with our tour leader Cristian. Immediately we noticed his politeness and command of the English language. We weren’t 10 minutes from the hotel when we quickly realized how we’d “hit the jackpot”. Cristian would ask us about our expectations of the tour and then would ask if we’d be interested in making small changes. By small changes I mean taking a slow winding country road versus a busy highway or focusing more on a particular area of the town. Small things like this made for such a wonderful day. What made him so pleasant besides filling you in on culture, architecture and history while driving is that we could talk to him about anything we wished. Kind of like getting your Dad to drive you someplace. He’s a superb tour guide and if you decide to use this company my advice would be to ask for Cristain.
- 208amelian00Amazing, BUSY day seeing all of the villagesWe had SO much fun doing this tour! We only had one day to see Cinque Terre so wanted to make the most of it and this tour was perfect to see EVERYTHING. You have the perfect amount of time in each village and it's organized well. The groups are large but a good enough size that we got to know a few others on our tour. Note - this is less of a tour and more of transportation between the different villages but they do give a bit of background about each village before you get there. It's also nice because you can make it what you want - for example, you could do a big walk in one village or just go visit the shops & get some wine. Worth every penny and the lunch was delicious. Wear walking shoes and prepare for a full, but fun, day!
- CaboTraveller12300Brisk, informative & pleasantVery informative, convenient & quick. Well worth the money to see the Duomo and learn something too!
- 996margieg00Love Cinque TerreThe entire tour was well organized, our tour director Victor was excellent. Beautiful views and we took so many pictures. It was an amazing day.
