- Bri B0 contributionsCelebrating my birthday at Live AquaHow can I put into words how amazing my experience was at Live Aqua!! This is truly the definition of a resort!! Everyone was wonderful and spoke to us and were so helpful! Concierge greeted us with tea and from there the drinks were flowing! (Shout out to Jonathan and Jaycen) Overall, the resort itself was beautiful, clean, and smelled amazing! The room was spacious and private! My friends had issues with their door and LA immediately sent out someone to fix the door which needed a battery replacement. The food was pretty good as well! My recommendation is the Italian restaurant Sospiro. Mmmmm! I definitely am recommending this place to anyone who reads my review!! The only set back was a waiter near the entertainment area who was rude. I ordered a drink and changed my mind, she flat out told me “NO” brought me my drink anyway and never waited on our table again. Then when I went inside to use the restroom, she was at the bar and she rolled her eyes at me. (For Live Aqua purposes, this was on Sunday, March 9 when she worked). - maurice p0 contributionsTransportation scamWe purchased an all inclusive package including complimentary airport transportation. The transportation is outsourced to a company. They had sent a confirmation stating the transportation from punta cana airport is complimentary but is not complimentary from Santo Domingo airport. Then they stated you needed to arrange it 8 days prior, meaning from Santo Domingo airport. They charged me an additional $40 saying the 8 days prior notice was for both. That is not how it was written on the confirmation. The 4 days notice that I did give them was not good enough for the complimentary trip in this all inclusive. Not the way you want to start a trip, being buckled and dimed.Written February 22, 2025
- Guide799400 contributionsThe best resorts in Punta Cana.It was our 5th vacation with Excellence El Carmen, and we already started to plan our next trip in April 2025. We like everything - very attentive and knowledgeable staff, Resort territory, rooms, restaurants, bars, entertainment, beach, quiet pools, spa, gym etc. We visited many different resorts and we can say that Excellence El Carmen is one of the best ones. I have played tennis whole my life and I can say that Yoan (tennis Pro) is the best. He helped me with my game a lot and I have seen that the other people were very happy after playing with Yoan. I cannot forget to mention people who work in the Reception area and concierge service. If you have any questions, it is enough just to ask, and any problem will disappear. - keithtE5832TC0 contributionsDisappointing Experience at TRS Turquesa, Punta CanaDisappointing Experience at TRS Turquesa, Punta Cana I regret to report that my recent stay at TRS Turquesa, Punta Cana, was significantly marred by a series of issues that severely detracted from what was intended to be a special trip for my wife and me. The resort, unfortunately, did not live up to the expectations set by its "All Inclusive" promise. Upon our arrival, we were immediately confronted with a dirty room spa that, when turned on, spilled black material into the spa. This unacceptable condition necessitated an immediate room change. However, the problems did not end there. The room service food was consistently of poor quality, to the point of being inedible. In the second room, the bed frame broke at 6:33 am following a restroom visit. This incident was not caused by any undue weight but rather by the poor condition of the bed, which had to be replaced. We had paid $700 for the premium experience, which was supposed to include upgraded snacks and drinks. Over the eight-day duration of our stay, the premium snacks provided were astonishingly limited: a single tiny chocolate bar, a Southwest Airlines-style bag of peanuts (one bag for two people), and a small jar of mixed nuts. The mini-bar, which was supposed to be stocked with premium drinks, was only stocked twice, and this was only achieved by day five. Moreover, one of these instances included an already opened Sprite, which was entirely unacceptable. Dinner reservations, including a special dinner on the beach, were made with clear instructions regarding my wife's celiac disease. Despite this being confirmed at each reservation, the only meal that complied with gluten-free requirements was at Los Tores. The special dinner on the beach was incorrect in every conceivable way. We requested the same menu for both of us but were served different appetizers and main courses. To compound matters, my wife was served a gluten-filled chocolate cake for dessert, making the meal entirely inedible for her. This "All Inclusive" experience, which was intended to be memorable, was further soured by the resort's failure to acknowledge their numerous shortcomings. I withheld my review, awaiting a management call-back to discuss the issues and the misleading nature of the "premium experience" as well as the continued problems with room and service. Unfortunately, no such call-back was received. In conclusion, although there were fleeting moments of enjoyment, the numerous issues and the lack of an appropriate response from management have made our stay at TRS Turquesa deeply disappointing and one that I cannot recommend.Written February 3, 2025
- Dream645120946580 contributionsPunt Cana beach resort is geared for landlubbersThe Flora Dreams all inclusive had nice staff that spoke predominantly Spanish. My French was of no help here. The grounds and rooms we clean and comfortable. The bed was firm and the pillows full and fluffy. We slept well. The water was turbulent with 3' waves most days which made it difficult to sail their catamaran. The resort and I had several disputes due to the many days they would not let me take the boat out. I sailed 3 out of the 8 days, but would have liked to sail every day. Snorkel equipment was not available from the resort; this would be an inexpensive upgrade for the resort to offer. The water was 78 degrees most days which was mildly comfortable. I liked Aruba's 84 degree water better. The pools were clean and 79 d water, the 3 pickleball courts were great fun on which to play. Norvin, the pickle pro, was a great help in organizing some games. The 7 restaurants were diverse. Most of the restaurants cooked the food during the day, then reheated it for dinner time. I guess this is what they needed to do to serve 1400 guests for dinner. The Hibachi Japanese Himitsu restaurant cooked fresh meat, but my girlfriend thought it was too tough. The shrimp was hot and delicious. The chicken was cooked first and then left on the grill which overcooked it and dried it out. The fried rice was extremely salty. Most of the restaurants did not use any herbs with their cooking. The French Bordeaux restaurant had a Delicious duck confit that melted off the bone. The wine was below average as DF is trying to upsell $100 bottles of wine. The Mexican Patio restaurant was fresher and the service was excellent. The Portofino took an hour to seat us even thought 6 tables were constantly open. The wahoo was precooked earlier in the day and the fish was tough. The thin steak was freshly cooked medium rare and was very enjoyable. The cafeteria restaurant had an egg chef and a salmon chef that Meade it possible to get some freshly cooked entrees. We probably enjoyed this restaurant the most of the 7. Made some new friends at the resort, and my lady had a good time, which was the most important requirement of all.Written January 14, 2025

- 334deem0 contributionsStay clear of this hotel if you want qualityAs you can plainly see tui have done nothing about this hotel so far , this hotel should definitely not I repeat not be a 5 not even 4 star hotel , we are still trying to get over our experience ( more so for my husband) as he wanted to make my 50th bday special to, this ended up not being the case , infact our worst nightmare , we had 10 days here but after 4 my husband was contemplating trying to get a flight home as this hotel was revolting ( food I wouldn't serve to my dog in sports bar) please if you really do like luxury DO NOT BOOK THUS HOTEL !! you will be extremely disappointed , I had every faith in the rui hotels but this has left us guttedWritten November 19, 2024

- Herman T0 contributionsAmazing vacation stay.Let's start with check-in it was a breeze front desk person, Fray upgraded us to preferred at no additional cost because it was my wife's birthday. Our butler Will was amazing he set up a dinner at one of the specialty restaurants to celebrate my wife birthday,they sing happy birthday and provided a cake . Every request we made to Will he provided exceptional service, the staff at this resort, and very nice and approachable. The food was good , However, there are no presents of a seafood restaurant . I think a seafood restaurant or more seafood options at the existing restaurants would have elevated the experience. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The swimming pools are awesome. The staff at Live Aqua is top notch from the front desk to servers at the restaurants to house keeping to the entertainment staff. All were very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, the best we have had at an all inclusive resort. We would like to thank Luis, Gandy, Yohangel, Angela, Yarelin, Romarir, and Jesus for their excellent service.
