About
The adventure begins in the Salento Park, where you will board a Land Rover Vehicle bound for the Machín Volcano located in the Municipality of Cajamarca, Tolima, during the approximately 75 kilometers journey, we will make several stops in order to have breakfast, refreshments, have lunch in the picturesque village of Toche, as well as enjoy the beautiful landscapes offered by the central mountain range of the Andes. Upon reaching our destination, the crater of the "Volcan Machin" we will make a journey of approximately 3 kilometers (2 hours) to the volcano domes, then enjoy a delicious bath in natural pools of thermal waters which will relax us for the return to Salento again

- fridasK1090LR0 contributionsGreat jungle adventure!This was an amazing day in the reserve, we heard the monkeys howling and saw them on some distance. We also saw lots of butterflies, some colibries and a coral snake! The vegetation was amazing too and we really walked inside the jungle, sometimes a bit challenging climbing over rocks and slippery slopes. An adventure for sure! Passed a couple of beautiful waterfalls as well and had a shower! Our guide Juan David was great, teaching us about plants and animals and helped everyone along the way! We were lucky and we could spot several monkeys, of course they don’t come too close because they’re wild animals but just watching them in their natural environment was so beautiful. - er6060 contributionsChocolate Tour near Montenegro!It was super interesting to see the cacao farm. Our English speaking guide was kind and gave us a good overview of the operations. We got to taste the fresh cacao and a chocolate drink. The setting is beautiful with a bamboo grove and banana trees. Mateo is a biology student from the university of Armenia and he is clearly so passionate about birds. In just a short 6.5km we saw around 40 different species, which Mateo could identify and tell us information about. He only speaks Spanish but spoke slowly and clearly for us to understand everything with our intermediate level of Spanish!Written December 30, 2023

We saw 2 monkeys an adult and a baby and it was wonderful. The guide Luis was very nice and put all his efforts to make sure we were safe along the way. He told us many important anecdotes about the reserve and the monkeys. Undoubtedly a highly recommended tour.Written June 7, 2023

We have very little Spanish but still found it a really interesting and beautiful experience and could understand the gist of most of the explanations with some patience and mining in Luis’ part. We were really lucky to see several Howler monkeys, but even if we hadn’t the walk down through the forest to the waterfall would have been worth it on its own.Written May 5, 2023

We saw monkeys high up in the trees, and where surrounded by their amazing howls. The waterfall was fantastic. The guide was great, he was patient with our slow pace and was very funny despite the language barrier. Would definitely recommend but I suspect you need to be at least moderately fit.Written March 26, 2023
