Wonderful museum. Family of 7 aged 13 to 72 and everyone loved the experience. The planetarium show was excellent and educational. The observation deck afforded great city views. A must see attraction in Reykjavík .

      Perlan museum
Outstanding museum! The glacier cave experience is extraordinary, along with the volcano theater. I recommend taking time for a bite to eat up on the top floor, but you could look out. The restaurant rotates .

Perlan a good mix of education and entertainment
It is an excellent mix of education and entertainment. Great views of Reyjkavik from the outdoor viewing platform. Coffee shop was a welcome extra. the Northern Lights show in the Planetarium was the highlight for us. There is a lot of information about the natural environment and it will take you longer to get through it than you first think. My only criticism is that the public transport bus stop is located down the hill and I think it would be better served if the buses came right into Perlan.

      Must see for science lovers!
Perlan is something really special and a must-include part of your trip to Reykjavik. Visual and interactive learners will particularly enjoy the wealth of movies and other experiences on offer. If you’re fascinated by geology and biology you’re going to enjoy this museum! Allow 2-4 hours for your trip depending on what you want to see during your trip and how much you tend to read as you walk around.

To expensive for what they have to offer
Hello, from my point of view Perlan is to expensive, to overrated. The ice cave is to small 1 minute is to much to see it all. The northern lights show is more like a story show because they choose to display the weakest aurora although are days in Iceland where aurora is amazing. The volcano show is some images from one of the latest eruption in Iceland images that you can get it in your own home from youtube.

      Immersive fire and ice experience
A deeply immersive educational experience in the land of fire and ice. Made me want to be a better person - the earth needs saving, we can all do our bit to make a change. Every little action or gesture helps

Had a really good experience @ Perlan
Had an amazing time at the Perlan Museum. The aurora show and volcano show was really good and entertaining. The upper deck restaurant and sky deck offers really good panoramic views of the city of Reykjavik. All in all a must visit place if you are in Reykjavik.

Top floor has exterior panoramic view of Reykjavik.
Visited the 360 degree view of Reykjavik on the top floor. Exterior panoramic views of Reykjavik, distant glaciers, and volcano mounds. Also went thru the Glacier visit which simulate the interior of glacier with ice sculptures and paths. Several other displays, well worth the entrance fee. Takes 2 - 3 hours. Free parking.

Part of the admission to the Perlan is on the Reykjavik morning tour. It is an museum based on the old water tanks and after touring the exhibits walk to the top and have a coffee and walk out for 360 views of the city. It is highly informative regarding sustainability and give a breakdown of what is happening to Iceland with climate change. If you want, come back afterwards and see the northern lights exhibition.

Dear stlbrd, thank you for writing to us about your day. Yes, four of the six hot-water tanks hold geothermal hot water - about 4 million liters each. One of them is now home to our Planetarium, and another one houses the real ice cave and glacier exhibition. I am happy you enjoyed your time at Perlan. Here, technology, science, and art bring the wonders of Icelandic nature alive like nowhere else. Hopefully, we see you again to explore more of Iceland's magical nature. All the best, Steffi

My husband & I walked to the Perlan one evening during our stay and it did not disappoint. We requested an observation deck entrance ticket but were told this was free for that specific day (bonus!). The deck was having some work done but this did not spoil the amazing views you get over the city. We highly recommend going around dusk!
Wish we'd of had more time to look at some of the other activities that the Perlan has to offer.

What a wonderful evening - Thank you, Laura, for writing to us about it. I am also fond of our views - all over Reykjavík, the mountains around & the surrounding areas. The lovely café and the restaurant on Perlan's top floor also offer spectacular views from every seat. Hopefully, we will see you again to explore our spectacles inside - where Iceland's natural wonders come alive at your fingertips. There is a world-class Planetarium with an incredible northern lights show, a real 100m long ice cave, a real-size bird cliff, interactive displays & so much more. Here, you both experience & learn to understand Icelandic nature like never before. Have a beautiful day, - Edda

This was a great little spot that gives you incredible views of Reykjavik. SUPER cheap and easy to do. Takes like 5 mins to buy the ticket, walk up-stairs or take the lift and then you're on top overlooking the city. Try to go at sunset for some really magical views!!

Dear Annalisa, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am happy you enjoyed your adventures at Perlan. Iceland is full of wonders we strive to explain and educate about in our interactive exhibits so guests can experience natural spectacles for themselves. Did you notice the scent in the Lava Show? The smell gives you a more profound experience of what it feels like to be next to an eruption site. Best regards, Eva
