About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Ronny J0 contributionsGreat experience, easy accessible from NairobiPick-up worked well (6am), even though booked at the evening before at around 8:30pm. The payment for the reservation fee can be very tricky. The operator will assist, but depending on the issue at hand it can take a while before the car/group can enter the park. Maybe there is a more convenient way for the operator to offer to the customer. The tour itself was great, sightings very much depend on luck. The park has all major animals you’d expect on a safari: lions, cheetah, leopards, rhino, zebra, giraffes, buffalos, different antelopes and many more, except elephants (Nairobi NP is too small). At the stop is an opportunity for a short walk accompanied by armed rangers. It’s free, but have some tip ready.Written September 15, 2024

- 661rajp0 contributionsEPIC KENYA WILDLIFE TOUREPIC KENYA WILDLIFE TOUR! We had a week in Kenya to see as much as possible, and Kenya Bush Tours were the perfect provider for us! Our guide Eric took us through Amboseli and the Tsavo’s, passing on his knowledge of the Kenyan wildlife as well as his positive energy throughout. On the tour, we were lucky enough to see +250 elephants and cheetah in Amboseli, the red elephants of Tsavo and even lions and a leopard. Truly all you could ask for from the African bush. Highly recommend Eric as a tour guide, as he made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire journey and demonstrated an immense knowledge of Kenya’s people and wildlife. Plus he left a smile on our faces after each sighting!Written September 14, 2024
- 343isaqs0 contributionsBest Wildlife Tour GuideMy family and I enjoyed our time together at the Nairobi National Park. We booked through Kenya Bush Expeditions and they gave us a full tour of the wildlife with the help of our amazing guide, Shem. Shem was very friendly and funny while he showed us around the park. He explained the wildlife in great detail. This was a great experience that I would recommend all to try out if you are ever in Nairobi.Written September 14, 2024

We had a fun tour guide, Lawrence, who managed to find a lot of animals and took the time to stop when there was something we wanted to see and got really close to lions, zebras, giraffes, etc. Would definitely recommend!Written September 13, 2024
- 706ingat0 contributionsGreat afternoon in the park!Great afternoon in the park, the driver Shem picked us up on time, assisted one of the other guests with there online booking to gain entry to the park. This caused a slight delay, I would highly recommend that you do this before hand. This is my second visit to the park, great to see a jackal, hyena and cervil cat plus giraffes, zebra, buffalo, eagle, hippo, crocs, antelope and rhino. The lions were about but we just missed them, our driver Shem did his best to ensure we had the best experience. A few tips, it is dusty on the road bring along some extra water and a couple of snacks, be prepared to go down a few bumpy tracks and enjoy the views! oh yes the birds are amazing, saw a kingfisher. EnjoyWritten September 8, 2024

Our driver/guide Edwin was brilliant and had so much knowledge of the park and its wildlife. We saw most of what the park has to show (Crocodiles, Hippos, Rhinos, and much much more, all in 4 hours) but the real highlight was the Giraffes. An amazing experience, highly recommended to get a taste of safari without spending a fortune.Written September 3, 2024

We had a 21-hour connection at Nairobi. I've already seen four animals from big-five. So it was decided to go to the safari straight from the airport to see a rhino!
The good thing about Nairobi is there's a national park next to the city so it will take you half an hour to start the game driving.
Our driver was a really nice guy. He managed to find 4 rhinos for us (and these guys are rear).
I will definitely recommend this tour to all the guests of Nairobi.

Booked the $60 pp half-day tour for 530 pickup. Expectation was that this would be a private tour, as it was not entitled "group tour".
We encountered three problems with our booking:
1. After booking the 530 pickup, the tour group tried to reschedule pickup for 6am, but we were hoping to arrive earlier to maximize big cat sighting opportunities. We were able to reschedule pickup for 540, explaining that we wanted to be at the park as early as possible.
2. When the guide arrived, he explained that we would be picking up two other groups before going to the park. Nowhere was it indicated (at the time writing) that this would be a group tour, and two separate pickups would defeat the purpose of trying to leave so early. This was a deal-breaker for us.
3. The guide also mentioned that the tour didn't include park fees. To be fair, the tour not including park fees is mentioned in the fine print, and many companies seem to have the same policy of not including those fees in the price. Regardless, it does feel a bit misleading.
In the end, we decided to cancel the tour because we didn't want to do a group tour, and we didn't want to arrive at the park later. They only agreed to refund us 50%, or allow us to rebook a highly-inflated private tour, which felt like an opportunity to upsell.

Frances was kind and knowledgeable. Extremely personable! We brought along our 9 month old and Frances was really playful with him also even when he was tired and fussy. He prompt at pickup and got us from our AirBnB. Communication was clear and efficient.
He asked what we were most interested in seeing and miraculously found us all but a cheetah which we knew to hold loosely. He found us several packs of lions, we even got to watch a lioness teach her young to hunt an antelope and the young lions wrestling.
The vehicle was very comfortable and we greatly enjoyed our time. Would highly recommend!

I can't recommend this tour highly enough! Geoffrey, our guide, just made it the best experience ever. He really knew his stuff, and knew the right routes to see all the animals. He even went the extra mile and took us back to see the lions at the end as he knew their behaviour and that they would be waking up now, as they were asleep when we arrived. They walked right by our jeep! The park itself is amazing, I would recommend it, but very important to have a good knowledgable guide as it really makes the experience that much more special and interesting. I will definitely use this company for other tours. 5*

After completing a five day Safari I found myself with a free afternoon before returning home so I decided to take a five hour tour of the Nairobi National Park. It was a decidedly mixed experience. I was picked up at my hotel but then we were driven to a parking lot and gift shop where we were to wait for another couple of travelers to join us. By the time we got to the park it was almost 3pm. The price to enter the park was quite expensive and not included in the cost of the trip (read the small print). While in the park, one of the passengers, who was a bird watcher basically co-opted the trip, asking the driver to stop with considerable frequency to take pictures of birds with her very impressive and significant camera. However, her telephoto lens gave her impressive sightings which were only available to her and that meant we spent a lot of time looking at nothing and had little time remaining to catch significant game sightings. Then unexpectedly, we had a plethora of rare black Rhino sightings and some very good white rhino sightings. Besides that we saw a solitary lion cub from a great distance and saw a few buffalo. We left the park around 5:45pm so all in all we had a 2:45 hour trip most of which was spent chasing birds that only one person on the trip could see. To cap it all, there was some confusion around getting us back to our hotel and two of us were placed in another car with another driver who, despite my telling him the location of my hotel, which was by the airport, attempted to take me to the wrong location in the city. What should have been a 20 minute drive ended up being a 90 minute drive by the time we sorted things out.

Kenyan Bush Expedition's organised a fantastic half day safari for my wife and I! We had a amazing time and can't recommend them enough.
The guide arrived at our hotel right on time and then proceeded to take us to the National Park where he took us through what we could expect for the morning safari.
The Safari was amazing with us seeing lots of Rhino including an incredibly cute baby rhino!! We saw all the other major attractions at the park except lion and leopard, but that's how safaris go sometimes.
Whilst Nairobi NP can't compare with the Masai Mara or other much larger parks it's somewhat surreal seeing the Nairobi city scape in the background. It's a very unique experience

Safari was amazing. Incredible to have this right by the city center. We saw lions, water buffalo, hippos, rhinos, ostrich,… amazing.
Our guide Peter was terrific, turned up exactly on time, was really fun and explained everything very well.
Only but which I found a bit odd is more the trip advisor part. I got charged 4x the cost as the other people I shared the trip with. I can understand there being a single supplement, but to go from $54 per person for two people to $198 for a single seems excessive. The other part that is not well explained on trip advisor is that there is an additional $50 park entry cost. There is a mention that there will be an additional cost but it could be made clearer and the amount included.

Nice safari where you can see a lot of animals. Not all the ‘Big Five’ are there, though, no elephants. The guide can give you an explanation about the animals, but you have to ask for it. A downside is that there are very long idle waiting times (twice half an hour) at a souvenir shop to change between the pickup car and the safari jeep. It is a big park, and easy to get out of the city while not needing to drive so far away. The skyline of the city can still be enjoyed from Nairobi National Park. The park entrance fee is not included. The rate on the website is in USD and cheaper than the onsite KES rate, including conversion. Better ask for a USD payment at the credit card machine.

Greetings from Kenya Bush Expeditions Tours and Travel.
Thankyou for booking your tour with us. We deeply appreciate your detailed feedback. We're sincerely sorry for the delay at the souvenir shop. Be assured that we have shared this with the concerned team for corrective measures and improvements. The USD to KES exchange rate is flexible and for this reason, the cost in KES varies. We look forward to surpassing your expectations when you return to book a tour with us. Thankyou.

I had very limited time in Nairobi and the half day National Park tour was perfect! Everything from being flexible on picking me up (private tour) when customs took a bit more time than expected to the animal viewing to the most impactful - my guide Joseph. Joseph had a vast knowledge of the animals and was more than willing to share me his personal experiences when I inquired. A good guide makes the tour and I have Joseph to thank for making my Sunday afternoon amazing.
As a female solo traveler, feeling safe on tours is a must - and this tour definitely accomplished that. I would recommend to anyone!

I booked a tour to Nairobi National Park in the afternoon slot and was a bit sceptical we would manage to see many animals. Yet Geoffrey was an amazing guide and we were lucky enough to have close encounters with rhinos and a beautiful lioness. He also shared a lot of interesting facts about Kenyan fauna. I would absolutely recommend the tour if you have half a day to explore the park!

Can it be fit and safe for 3-4 years old kid? Is Payments for a kid and an adult different? If it is how much for a Kid? Can a kid get a seat? or stay on lap of parents?
Written May 9, 2023
I would personally not recommend a safari for a 3-4 year old child. The usual age is minimum 5 or 6. You might try the Elephant Sanctuary or even look at child specific programs.
