Finally brought our kids here. What an AMAZING place. It cost $66 Canadian for all five of us….very reasonable. Parking is free and easy. There are two main buildings, and also many outdoor exhibits/activities. Highlights were the jellyfish, walruses, and the big tank which had a short glass walking tunnel passing through it. The stingray touch tank was better than other stingray touch tanks we have done, because for some reason, the ones here seemed to really have a lot more energy and “personality”! They would stand right up out of the water looking at us, as we touched them. And splash us like crazy, even! But THE gem of the Quebec Aquarium are the polar bears. The glass wall let us observe one playing underwater and having a great time, three inches away from us on the other side of the glass. You can also go up higher and observe them from above. When you do that, you are only 30-40 feet away from them. (It’s safe). No animals seemed mistreated at all. Staff was helpful and excellent in telling us about the creatures. Other highlights: the kids ropes/adventure area, and a really good playground. Landscaping is beautiful. At some spots, the park-like area is only 20 to 30 feet away from the old Quebec bridge across the St. Lawrence, and you get a wonderful view of this historic bridge from the overlook and other spots. Finally, lunch at Aqua Bistro was quick, delicious, and VERY reasonably priced. (The outdoor BBQ snack bar was not yet open, and the more formal Alize restaurant was having a private event). We spent 3+ hours here, because we took our time and did it all. It is not crowded, like the Toronto Ripley’s Aquarium. We HIGHLY recommend this for all kids and adults!

Nothing really spectacular here but if you're looking for a half day activity it will do. Beware that you weave in and out of buildings so on a cold or rainy day be prepared for that. Look for a discount coupon on the city's free tourist guide. Outside there are seals and walruses. Polar bears are currently unavailable due to construction. Free parking.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your experience. We are sure some of your advice will help further visitors. Our polar bears are currently in Cochrane Ontario considering we are renovating their habitat at the moment. Thank you again for sharing your experience among us.

My husband and I went about 11am on a Saturday morning in the winter. There were quite a few families but still ample opportunity to see all the exhibits. Something to note if you go in the winter, you need to walk outdoors from the entrance to the buildings and there are some outdoor exhibits. The building with jellyfish, seahorses, and rays was very enjoyable. The animals are all identified but there is not always a lot of information about each species.

Washrooms are few and far between and mostly just single so be prepared to wait.

We did not eat at the cafe and did not tour the outdoor exhibits and it took us about two hours to go through all the displays in both buildings.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. It is true our site gets busy, especially during summertime which sometimes means long lineups at the washrooms. We have noted your comment for future projects. See you and have a great day!

I do not recommend this place if you have a disability that requires a service dog. They refuse your certification if your dog is not trained in Quebec and only allow a small handful of companies based in Quebec. My dog is fully trained under the government of Canada and has the same certification as the Quebec companies. Very disappointing.

Maybe places like these are nearing extinction like many of the species they display. It is very unfortunate how basic it has become. We visited a decade ago and the place now seems like it was frozen in time.
If you have young kids, maybe it is fun, otherwise it is not worth the admission cost.
Such a shame, but it seems Netflix may soon become a better place to experience rare aquatic life.

Hello, Earlier this year, we proudly announced a record investment of $21 million for a complete overhaul of the outdoor pools and the arrival of sea otters in 2024. We are continually working to improve our pools and exhibits. New collections will be introduced in the near future. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

This was the worst experience at a zoo or aquarium that I have ever had or could imagine. It is nothing but a slow moving line that goes throughout each building. You wait >20 minutes just to ENTER a building…only to see that the line continues inside. The exhibits are nothing special and don’t even have printed/displayed educational material by them-you can use your phone to scan a QR code if you want to learn more. Umm…I go to places like this so my kids don’t need to be on a phone. What a terrible idea to convert everything to this format at a place that’s meant for kids. My kids were 9 & 10 when we came. I honestly can’t imagine how much more miserable this would have been with younger kids. It was a test of all of our patience. Kids don’t come to zoos/aquariums to wait in line. And that’s basically all we did. A total waste of money and time.

Thank you for sharing your impression, following your visit. We are sincerely sorry to hear that your recent visit did not live up to your expectations. It is true that our site is particularly busy, especially since the end of since the end of the sanitary measures and on beautiful days + with the construction vacations. All tourist sites are currently receiving record numbers of visitors, as they do every year. With a waiting time average of 20 minutes, we agree that this is not ideal, but not extreme either, and that this is an isolated case that only happen 3 or 4 days in the year. Rest assured that the teams are working very hard to avoid such repercussions and your and your comment allows us to see that we must continue to make efforts continue to make efforts at this level. We are pleased to note that the implementation of time slots and online purchasing greatly helps to the fluidity on the site, compared to previous years.

A visit here is one that I am glad I did. With so much about the oceans and waterway we still don't understand this place makes that a great educational experience. Being from the Great Lakes region ( Lake Erie ) I never really thought much about the aquaculture that exists beyond it. The St Lawrence is teeming with life I never would have imagined. To also see creatures from the Amazon exhibit and the sea-horses, it truly engages the mind. This is a very family friendly place with lots for the kids to see and do but just as fun if you are by yourself. The polar bear enclosure is being rebuilt so it was closed but would look forward to going back again.

This is a beautiful aquarium but perhaps November wasn't the best time to visit. The indoor displays were great, especially the jellyfish. However, the outdoor displays were pretty sparse this time of year. That said, we did enjoy the Artic Fax display.
Free parking was definitely a plus and we were impressed by the very large children's play area.

Went thinking it was going to an enjoyable experience. Left wanting to free all the animals and fish. The jelly fish are trapped in very small aquariums for their size. Beautiful to capture but sad to see them out of their proper habitat.
The polar bears were showing signs of stress. Taxing back and forth with a swiping movement of their front paw, for the whole duration of my visit.
Seals seemed in ok spirits. But again needed more space to swim about.
Touching the sting rays was an experience to remember but again, small pool for them to be in.
I did it once and I won’t be doing it again.

Our hotel was close by so we chose to visit, the first things you see are the jellyfish and honestly the exhibition is excellent and we spent quite some time there. The other floors are somewhat less interesting although the sea horses are well exposed. There are areas for children to touch the fish and an area representing the tidal shore which is well done. Plenty of staff on hand to answer questions. Outside there is a walrus and sea lion pool although my son was disappointed that the polar bears were not visible as the area is being refurbished and this is not announced anywhere. Pleasant gardens outside and we enjoyed the visit

Dear _mbabraham, I would like to thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us about your day at Aquarium du Québec. I was sorry to learn that your day wasn’t entirely to your satisfaction for many aspects as I could read in your survey. As a vision of being a leader in the industry, sincere feedback like you just gave us is definitely welcome. I look forward to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future to regain your trust and demonstrate to you that your unfortunate experience does not reflect our standards of service.
