We only had eight hours to spend in Quebec and took the Grand Tour to get a quick sampling of city architecture and culture. Our tour guide, Michael, was excellent with an impressive breadth of knowledge about Quebec’s history. There was an ever-present enthusiasm in his voice that exuded his love for the city he now calls home that made others on his tour appreciate it even more as well. Michael was in no hurry to rush through the tour since those in our group didn’t have dependencies that would be impacted; so, what was scheduled to be 2 hours lasted 40 minutes longer, which was a pleasant surprise!
Tours Voir Québec likes to keep the size of the tours small (I believe 12 at max) so that it's easier to interact with the guides and focus more on topics of interest to the group. We came away feeling enriched from the experience, learning much more than we ever knew prior to the tour and wanting to learn more once we got home. I highly recommend taking one of their tours if you get an opportunity...it will be a great experience at a value price.

I highly recommend taking the tour at the start of your visit to help you get situated with the area. Joycelyn has the perfect personality for a tour guide and she was engaging, funny, and very knowledgeable about the history of Quebec City and Canada. We learned so much about the culture, historic people and French and English architecture . She even explained one of the many huge art murals in town .
Do dress appropriately for weather and wear comfortable shoes . We had a light dusting of snow so some of the streets and sidewalks were slick. They do have railings on some of the streets to hang on to. The city and most storefronts did a beautiful job decorating the streets with trees and Christmas lights...absolutely beautiful ! Go to the outdoor German Market !!
I also recommend taking funicular back up to the walled city for the experience and view, especially if you're tired form walking up all the stairs and hills . They do take American dollars $5 (cash only)

Our tour was quite edifying and highly enjoyable because of our affable, knowledgeable and entertaining guide- Christian! We experienced the Old City as though we lived it from the past and of the present as residents because of our guide’s care and professionalism! This was possible because the tour company split our large group into four smaller ones enabling us to have a more intimate relationship in Old Quebec. We saw and learned about the old architecture, history and culture of Quebec that spanned centuries. The tour was planned for two hours, but due to Christian’s commitment, it lasted for 2.5 hours. While we usually don’t book tours and are independent travelers, I am happy and grateful we did to have this wonderful opportunity to experience and appreciate Old Quebec through the eyes and expertise of a truly talented tour guide- Christian! I urge you to not miss this affordable and worthwhile experience while you are in Old Quebec- you won’t be disappointed! Very Highly Recommended!

WoW !
Such a nice review! We would like to thank you in the name of Christian for the wonderful comments, and we will send him your review.
We divide people into smaller groups so that everyone can enjoy the tour and be able to develop a certain relationship with their guide.
Our tours are all about Quebec City's history, and that includes its various architecture styles and the culture. Our tours really are a step in the past, and we are glad to see that Christian was able to give you the impression of being in the past yourself.
We hope to welcome you in Quebec City soon!

This was an excellent walking tour lasting over two hours taking in the old town both up high and down below.
Our guide was Yves who was very knowledgeable indeed about the history, architecture and other key facts and figures about the city. He was also a very friendly and likeable guide.
We covered a good distance during the tour and learned many interesting facts not just about old Quebec but also about Canadian history in general.
I believe this was good value for money and enjoyed the experience very much.
It was a super warm day for June and Yves made his best efforts to find the group some shade if at all possible.
I would highly recommend this company and tour if you are in old Quebec and want to know more about it.
Yves was also very happy to recommend local restaurants and other activities after the tour.

I initially planned to walk around the city for one day with tips from YouTube but then decided to book the tour 2 hours ahead of my arrival into QC and I'm so glad that I did. In doing so, I received a rich historical and cultural lesson from the fantastic Louise who beams with Quebecois pride and I was able to connect with the city far greater than just looking at sites and taking photos. Louise also ensured that with me being Australian, that I was able to understand some references only known to North Americans. Louise was also great to recommend further things to do outside of the tour for those looking to explore a bit more.
Would recommend this to anyone short on time visiting QC or loves their history. Merci!

We were in Quebec City for several days for an event and wanted to take an informative tour of Old Quebec. We settled on this walking tour and we are glad we did!
Francis was our guide and immediately we could tell he was going to be fun. He is a history and architecture buff, with a wealth of knowledge of the area. Everywhere we turned he shared fantastic details with a stellar personality blending candor and humor.
Our tour ran slightly over the designated two hours and we would have been happy to spend twice that much time learning about this beautiful city.
HIGHLY recommend this tour if you'd like to learn about the history and architecture of Old Quebec from an extremely knowledgeable local.
Another kudos for his speaking very LOUD and CLEAR... easily heard even in more noisy environments.
Note: we heard a couple folks with thin skin and delicate sensibilities may not take kindly to factual relaying of historical events. That's a shame to go through life looking to be offended. Francis is a gem. Highly recommend. 🤙🏼🤙🏼

We really enjoyed our tour with Denis. He showed up right on time and we were a very small group. His English was very good and he knew so much about the history of the city. He said it was our tour, not his, so he would stop and talk about any thing or place as long as the people in the group wanted to stay there/on that subject. He gave lots of insider’s tips about where to eat, shop, explore. It gave us ideas for things to do later in the day. I recommend taking the walking tour as early in your visit to the city as possible so you can follow up later by further exploring the places that they recommend on the tour. We had explored the city on our own the night before, and he took us back to some of the places that we had already been, but without knowing the history or the meaning behind the places, they’re nowhere near as meaningful. After the tour, we really had a sense of the culture and pride of the people of Quebec.

The tour operators were super flexible as they changed our tour from Friday to Saturday due to bad weather.
The trip itself was both informative and fun. Dominique, our tour guide, was very friendly, accommodative, witty and humorous while sharing interesting anecdotes about the city’s history, architecture and religious past.
I would highly recommend this tour to others looking to explore the city.

We really enjoyed our walking tour. It was nice to have a local guide and she was able to answer all of our questions, in addition to making a food recommendation. We visited a number of the important places, and enjoyed learning the history of the city from the guide. She was definitely very knowledgeable and her English was excellent! There were 14 in our tour group, which felt reasonable. You end the tour at a different location than you started the tour, and it would have been nice for them to include a funicular pass with the tour. Our tour took 2.5 hours, despite the fast walking, so something to consider if booking back-to-back with another event. Overall, we enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone visiting Quebec City for the first time!

When my husband and I arrived to Quebec City, we didn't know anything about Quebec City and its history and culture. Thank you to the tour guide (I am so sorry I forgot his name). He was so passionated about the history and cultures. With the tour guide, we've learned so much about Quebec City and how it was discovered and built. We didn't know Quebec City was colonized by four countries: France, England, Scotland, and Ireland. The city's architecture is magnificent. I was awestruck at every street corner I walked on. I felt like I was in Paris. Quebec City won my heart. Merci beaucoup to the tour guide. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la visite et votre compagnie. I highly recommend this tour to people who want to visit Quebec City and want to learn its history and culture.

Hi you can google it..bus 11 min, taxi 5 min, walk 25 min. I'd walk through the old town and up the hill. Depending on your health you can take the funicular up. It is located outside the hotel Frontenac. Enjoy!

We are booked for this walking tour on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Where would be the best place to park our car, particularly if we plan to spend the afternoon in Old Town for the remainder of the afternoon.

We parked at the parking structure next to Chouinard Quay. Park all day, and finish the day in the lower town, as that is where the walking tour ends. Suggest you take the funicular from lower town to upper town where the tour begins. Leaving the car parked by the Quay is easier to take the ferry over to Levis at sunset to see Quebec City all lit up. The parking structure is a short walk from the ferry.
Can we bring our well behaved dog on a leash?
