My recent Montreal photo tour with Alain was an amazing experience. Alain is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and passionate about his city. He took me to some really great spots that I would have never found on my own. Alain has worked as a location scout & it shows. After a short zoom consult, Alain prepared an itinerary based on my interests. As I shoot with a Canon camera & was only going to travel with my kit lens, Alain offered to let me use some of his favorite Canon lenses. Wow. Some of the best photos of I’ve ever taken! He also supplied a tripod for me to use for some stunning slow exposure images inside a couple of iconic Montreal landmarks. The tour took us to some of the city's most picturesque locations, including the historic Old Montreal, the Biosphere, Chinatown, and the breathtaking skyline view from Mount Royal Park. Alain offered expert tips on composition, lighting, and settings, helping me to elevate my photography skills. The entire tour was a lot of fun and I highly recommend it to any photography enthusiast visiting Montreal. Thanks to Alain, I was able to capture some truly unforgettable images in Montreal.

It was an incredible experience doing an evening/night solo photo tour with Alain. He is a complete master of photography and provides a full plate of quality photo sites based on your interests. I enjoyed conversing with him (we had some good laughs) and appreciated his calm demeanor. There was nothing rushed or hurried with any of our stops. Alain offered great composition suggestions and gave me plenty of freedom to explore creatively. I never would have imagined how much fun it would be to do a photo tour of my own city. Alain made the entire experience memorable and worth repeating. We took photos from obvious spots, but also from locations that offered a unique view of Montreal. He made the photo shoot very easy and made me comfortable behind the camera. I was eager to learn and he gave me tips that were very helpful. Regardless of your photography knowledge, Alain is the right person for a photo tour.

As first-time visitor to Montreal and a novice a photograph like me, you should absolutely consider booking Alain for a tour. I was there for a conference and didn't have a lot of extra time, so I had him take me to a few obvious/touristy places for convenience sake. I chose him because he was a location scout for the movies. He was able to show me some places I wouldn't have known about or how to even get to if I did. He was able to teach me a few things that I'm going to try to incorporate into my photography too. He may be a little bit pricey compared to some of the other choices you might have available, but you get what you pay for. I got some great shots, and I'm really glad I chose to work with Alain.

I did a photo tour with Alain and feel that it was very helpful. I knew that there were some good locations to shoot in Montreal, but I did not have a lot of time to spend in the city because I was visiting from out of town. I had never done a photo tour before and thought this would be a good opportunity to give it a try. I chose Alain because I wanted to see more than just the well known photo spots in the city. I was interested in getting to some places that are more unique and felt that with his background as a scout in the film industry Alain would be in a good position to make it happen. We started off with a phone consultation and I sent some possible locations that had caught my attention. In my case, I was looking to shoot interesting architecture and possibly do some large night time panoramas. After a couple of emails back and forth we agreed on an itinerary and a date. Ultimately the shooting turned out really well. Over the course of six hours we hit a number of locations in the downtown/Old Montreal area and I did manage to get a good mix of different subjects in. I think this tour was a worthwhile investment for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I would never have been able to get to all of these locations on my own over the course of one evening. Alain arranged the schedule so that we hit these locations in the perfect order so that I could get the shots that I wanted at the right time. We did the shoot in the late afternoon and into the evening. By keeping to the timings he ensured that I got the shots I wanted at the right time in relation to sunset that day. In addition, he suggested locations that I never would have thought of, given that I am not from the Montreal area. This allowed me to hit some interesting spots that otherwise I would have missed. I found Alain to be very helpful in terms of suggesting possible compositions. He is very personable and the time went by fast. I actually took up photography because I wanted to display my own art in my home and I have just ordered an acrylic mount print of one of the shots from this photo tour. Overall am glad I went ahead with it and would definitely recommend Alain to anyone who wants to get the most out of shooting in this city.

As a relatively experienced amateur photographer, I was attracted initially by the fact that Alain is not only a superb photographer (look at his website) he is also a location manager for many film studios. On our tour, we were greatly tested by inclement weather. However, Alan’s flexibility and creativity managed to shine through the pouring rain. He turned the schedule on its head, and we began the tour in a fascinating interior, the Crew Cafe, where Alan set up a tripod, and we did long exposures, catching the beauty of the buildings facade, while showing the blurred motion of the people walking by. We then headed to the Montreal trade center, and repeated the process of getting great shots of people scurrying to work in this iconic setting.We then headed to the top of Mont Royale, and got some excellent shots of people holding colorful umbrellas overlooking the city. A break in the weather allowed us to take photos in Parc Jean Drapeau and at the Biosphere. We finished up with lunch and more great shots in one of Montreal’s iconic markets. The day was an excellent combination of learning and shooting. Alain is a marvelous teacher- articulate and patient, and he is a pleasure to spend time with. With Alain, you get to see and photograph parts of Montreal that are simply not available to the ordinary tourist.
