- 807sarahp00Montreal East side walking tourVery informative and enjoyable tour with Christian who certainly knew his onions and was engaging throughout this short and compact walking tour of Montreal east side.
- K9906SJisabelm00Don't miss this!Excellent walking tour. Very informative and the guides were very friendly! Get to see some of the best sites of the city during this pleasant walking tour.
- Greatbodies00Your experience depends on your guide!I did get some history...when I could hear Robert actually speak. I feel he should've stood in front of the group and spoke. He gave a lot of his own history and seemed like he didn't want to give the tour...since he said he is usually on a bus. 4 people disappeared in the middle of the tour. I feel another guide would've given this review more stars.
- Laura D00First time in the old MontrealMy guide was Elise and she was great! Interested on what we were interested in. I did both the morning and afternoon tours and really loved the old Montreal. However I was expecting a greater tour, for me it felt short. We stayed sometimes just talking in some places and it felt like it was a bit passing time. I would love that there would be more explanation of Montreal’s history. Honestly the morning tour would be enough as the afternoon one was a bit boring. All in all it is a great way of getting to know the old town and catching some recommendations on restaurants and bars. Some good curiosities were also given to us.
- susangK326AI00Perfect intro to the city!Vanessa was a super guide, answering all our questions, kept things moving & kept track of wanderers. Lots of info & sites packed into 90 min. We couldn’t find her at 1st, but someone answered the phone & we were just 100m from her! (Maybe she needs a sign!?) Highly recommend this tour!
- B7400KNmartink00Half fulfilled .The morning tour with Joanne was amazing . She gave us so heaps of information and made the tour very interesting. The after tour with Robert was absolutely shocking. He apologised as he had never done the tour before but to be honest we were disgusted that the tour continued and we were charged . It was evident he didn’t know what he was doing. Four members of the group left which shows a sign it was not just us. It was painful and not professional. It was a shame as Joanne’s your int he morning was brilliant. She said she didn’t understand why she was t Doug. The afternoon tour as she was taken off it . Not a good move from the tour company
- 769dorothyn00Great walking tour with VictoriaVictoria was lovely to walk with and knowledgable about the history of Old Montreal, and we were able to get a good lay of the land and plan the rest of our trip with our tour in mind.
- lindasR5787XY00Best tour of our 14 day visit! Our tour guide, Sarah M., was amazing. Thorough, kind, shared a few personal suggestions, has a nice sense of humor, and engaged our group members. I highly recommend asking for Sarah M.
- M4030QMpaulh00Excellent timeCatherine did a wonderful job on our walking tour of Old Montreal. She was informative and pleasant. Highly recommend this tour.
- lgw109400Perfect BeginningCaroline was amazing! Full of historical information delivered in a totally entertaining manner. Our entire group was enchanted and sad to reach the end of the tour. Perfect way to begin our time in Montreal.
- susanjowaiszas00Fun, informativeSarah was a fantastic guide. Very personable and knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. She was equally comfortable with historical info and restaurant recommendations. We learned a lot and it gave us ideas for a return trip!
- marcomR8551XN00Just go and learn and enjoy!Michel M did a great job of taking my wife’s and my knowledge from little to much in our 90 minute tour of Montreal East. Michel was very attentive to all in the group. Would highly recommend
- Linda K00Great tour of Old Montreal. Our tour guide Andre was very knowledgeable and professional. He has a wonderful rapport with people. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone coming to Montreal.
- L1808VWnicholasm00Excellent Tour GuideCatherine our tour guide was fantastic in describing the history associated with the structures. She painted very descriptive images and made the stories very interesting.
- 799danielan00Short tour with easy walkThe tour was lead by Sarah. She was very knowledgeable and good sense of humor. Content was good. Walking pace was slow enough for everyone. I learned a lot within 1.5-2 hrs tour.

Pierre was our tour guide and he was courteous, knowledgeable, and approachable. We started out at Notre Dame cathedral for the morning tour, and were given insightful historic lessons and activities. Canada and the U.S. have very similar histories.
The afternoon tour concentrated on the history of the various economic upbringings and changes of Quebec region and Montreal. Also very informative tour! I would take this your again and recommend to family and friends.
Two suggestions: change the description of the meeting point, and know where more available wash rooms are.

Our tour had 22 people as our guide did not show up. We were added to Laura’s group & so glad this happened. Laura gave us a great tour explaining some history, current events, trends and the Canadian French perspective.
Of note to TripAdvisor & the tour company. You should clarify what sites are visited & what is discussed in the am Tour vs the pm tour. It was not clear. Also some of the emails said this was a 2hr tour & the TripAdvisor website said 1 1/2 hrs. Ours was the latter which was perfect but it’s helpful to know in advance.

Hello,
Thank you so much for letting us know about the information mismatch between the email and the website! We will definitely be looking into that.
Of course we're also very happy that you enjoyed the tour and we will be sure to pass on your compliments to Laura. She is especially to be commended, as you say, because 22 people in one group is not our typical group size for this tour.
Once again, many thanks for taking the time to share this important feedback with us.

We ( 2 adults and 2 teens) spent a very hot day in the company of our guide, Christian, walking parts of Old Montreal- and it was wonderful. Christian was very knowledgeable. He shared history of the area and its buildings and people, through anecdotes and facts. It was a perfect way to get a sense and orientation to the old part of Montreal. The included ice cream treat hit the spot! We'd definitely recommend this tour company and this guide.

We were really excited for this walking tour but it unfortunately was not entertaining or educational. We also ironically walked very little. Our tour guide kept us in the square that we started in for the first 40 minutes of the tour and just talked about history. We walked around a little bit but saw very little of Old Montreal. Our tour guide also only focused on 1700's history and he was honestly kind of reciting from a textbook. He didn't give any other history or current information about Montreal's current culture. I honestly walked away feeling like I received a history lesson while staring at a few statues in Montreal.

Bonjour,
We are very sorry to hear that your walking tour experience in Old Montreal didn't meet your expectations. It's essential for tour guides to strike a balance between entertainment, education, and providing a comprehensive experience of the city's culture. We'll make sure to remind our guides of this and make any appropriate changes.
We'd be very happy to offer you a redo with a different guide. Please contact us at info@guidatour.qc.ca, so we can arrange another tour.

Hi Janet,
Thanks for letting us know you enjoyed your tour! Unfortunately, we can't tell who to pass on your compliments to, as many of our guides could be described with the adjectives knowledgeable, charming, and funny. ;)
All kidding aside, we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. Hopefully see you again in Montreal soon!

Easy check in in front of the Notre Dame Basilica, small group of 6, very good tour from Martin. He gave us just the the right amount of history to enjoy the 2 hr tour. We covered quite a large section of the old town and had a maple tasting with an included treat. Also the ticket included a reentry to the Basilica on our own (had to be used that day). Cost of tour was $25 a person and I felt we got a good orientation to the city.
