      Let there be light !
This was a stunning light show that brought a unique experience to our group. The relationship between the music, lights and interior space was seamless and the length of show was perfect.

      Lovely dining experience
Lovely dining experience with added bonus of viewing the sights of Montreal at night. Well trained, friendly staff. The music and dancing in the dining area was more for a vibrant younger crowd but the upper deck was available for conversation and soft music. Recommend to all.

      Great storytelling!
The guide was incredible. Such a great story-teller. We had a great time, getting to know a little more about Montreal’s history and urban legends.

Beautiful way to see the Basilica
It was a fantastic light show. Really highlighted the interior beauty and statues. So much more beautiful at night than during the day. It was only about 30 minutes long so that was my only negative. I expected a longer show.

      Happy Hour?
Things started off not so happy on this happy hour tour. We notified the waiter that we had a ticket each for a free drink to which he told us that there were no free drinks. When I showed him the ticket, he said that he would inquire with the captain. Long story short, we eventually got our free drink. This cruise is worth it if you can get a seat on the upper deck, otherwise she ain't no big deal. To the Olympic tower and back where most of the scenery is ship loading docks. Good to do once but for 45 clams (plus 1 free boisson) it is merely average indeed.

      Not my favorite
Some of my family enjoyed the cruise but I did not. The walking tour orients u to the area and its history. So I thought it redundant( goes past a lot of industrial areas). But the staff was lovely. AURA- if u love light shows( as I do) u will love it. However the basilica itself is amazingly beautiful with no light show!

A very bad experience of customer service and failed organization.
We decided to celebrate my wife's birthday with friends and family on AML's Happy Hour cruise on Saturday, September 21, at 4:00 pm. Straight and simple, the boarding experience was horrible. 1. We directed our extended family members and guests to pre-order tickets online, which they did, same as we did. 2. Why is the requirement to go to the cashier window to collect boarding tickets, and adding to the chagrin, requiring presenting the credit card used for the online purchase of tickets? For G-d's sake, we are in 2024! Already two full decades into the age of online purchases and QR code scanning. What is the use of an online purchase if you require all this hurdle of presenting in person in the cashier window for proof of purchase and for collecting the tickets? 3. The location of the boarding to the ship: You could have placed clear signs showing the way to the temporary boarding dock. Patrons do not need to enter the waiting room and only 15 minutes before boarding be shown the exit through a narrow door and rush all the way 500 meters away up and down a hundred stairs(!!!) to get to the boat. AML could do the very least of telling people to go there right away after picking up their tickets at the cashier windows and not make them rush there in the last minute all that long way up to the very end of the far dock. 4. What about the disabled, pregnant women and parents with babies and tots? Among our guests, there were one lady in her 9th month of pregnancy, several parents and grandparents carrying babies and small toddlers, and at least one disabled person who could hardly make the long distance climbing, then going down, the 100 or so stairs, even when assisted by other guests, who all arrived breathless, sweating and aching(!) to the dock. The whole of AML's organization represents sheer cruelty for the sake of cruelty, an absolute and complete ignorance of people's needs and expectations, a total failure in human relations and customer service. Horrible experience that badly diluted any subsequent enjoyment of the cruise itself.

      Worth it.
The light show is well worth the extra visit. You do not get a chance to walk around the basilica so you will need to make a second trip. If you are into light shows, a theater buff, or just like technology this was cool. Lights are shown on ceiling and across altar while music plays as you sit in the dark. Don't think young children would enjoy it.

      A Night @ Notre-Dame Basilica
This ethereal experience is like no other; this stunning performance of lights was breathtaking, beautiful, and literally took your breath away! I know, I know, you're like, "Really, it's just LIGHTS!" but the ambience, sound & lighting effects provided a 30 minute dream of wonder. The bonus? Getting to explore La Basilica, in the mystery of the darkness that comes with the night, to then walk out to the Place d' Armes to music & dancing!

Advice on Zodiac Trips from Baie St. Catherine/Tadoussac
We took a zodiac tour from Baie Saint Catherine. If you plan to do the same, here is some advice: 1) We had a good experience with Croisieres AML but if I were to go again, I'd do a bit more research first. The key to seeing a whale is the experience/skill of your captain. They don't have sophisticated tools. They just have ideas of where whales might be, communication with other boats, and intuition. We happened to have a good captain but the other boats at our time slot were not as fortunate. Look for companies that advertise experienced/skilled captains. 2) If you are coming from Quebec City, be prepared for a very scenic/mountainous but very long drive. If you want to see St. Anne Beaupre Basilica, it is on the way. You may want to combine trips. 3) Dress warmly. I can't understate this. Winter hat, gloves, layers. The air is much colder on the St. Lawrence and the wind chill on the boat is significant. You'll feel stupid waiting for the boat all bundled up, especially in the summer, but you'll have a much more comfortable ride. 4) It's not an exciting trip. Pretty boring, to be honest. We were on the boat for about an hour or more before we got to a place where we stopped to look for a whale. Other times might be shorter, but it's a huge area and I suspect every trip takes a while. Especially on the way back, I wished I had brought some ear phones to listen to music or a podcast because talking is not really possible due to the wind. 5) Seeing the whale up close was MAGNIFICENT. We were 15 feet from a humpback as it swam around us and then dove down. It's a site I'll never forget. It came back up near us and we saw it again just circle near us. Unforgettable experience. 6) If we had not seen a whale -- and I get the sense that finding one is equal parts skill and luck -- I would've considered the trip a bit of a disaster. Good luck!

      Don't go unless you're a retard.
The 5 course meal was horrible. Course 1 was a spoonful of ground shrimp on nuts. Course 2 was a spoonful of ground elk on sea weed. Course 3 was a spoonful of ground rabbit on seaweed. Course 5 was a sliver of blueberry cake. All mandatory! The DJ accepts no requests. He mixes only segments of songs to create a non-stop jungle beat. We wanted to jump off!!!

a must if you are in Montreal. We discovered this show by coincidence as we wanted to visit the church. I decided to give it a try and enjoyed it a lot. Perfect also if you are travelling with kids.

Very expensive, too many people and hot...
We reserved for a special night with fire works for my niece, we paid $1034 for 3 with VIP service. We were put on the bottom of the ship after passing by other 3 uproom and were assign the last table. The table was leaning to the right, it was very uncomfortable forthe back, was hot, over crowded, food was good but wine was cheap. Too many people to watch the fire work outside so we stayed at the table watching from part of the window. Very expensive for the overall experience. Not recommending this cruise.

      Dinner cruise and fireworks
We went during the fireworks competition. The cruise stopped do we could watch the fireworks and the music was streamed at the same time. Dinner was so much better than expected. Service was of the highest standard. I would recommend this as a don't miss.

The tour was a 90 minute turnaround on the St. Lawrence river. Day was beautiful. Boat was clean and well kept. Staff was friendly. Sangria was delicious. My problem was that it was listed as a historical sightseeing tour. The guide pointed to things on shore and gave brief histories on them, true, but I assumed it would be a history of the city. No mention of how Montréal was settled. Maybe just a re-title is in order.

We did the Brunch Cruise that departs from Montreal's Old Port and returns to dock 90 minutes later. The a la carte menu choices were varied and the quality of the dishes was excellent! Table service was also very good. The fully-enclosed dining room has floor to ceiling windows affording a 180 degree view as you dine. After eating you can go to the outside upper decks for great views of both shores of the St. Lawrence River and the City of Montreal. Overall, a very pleasant experience at a reasonable price.

We took the AML cruise along the Montreal Port. The scenery was beautiful. They had difficulty with the microphones which made listening to the guide very difficult. However we met many charming Montreal residents and had a great time. The drinks were reasonable.

Upon arrival to our original departure 10h30 (11am departure) we were told that it was canceled for technical reasons...asked why we weren't told, they said since we booked with a 3rd party they didn't have our coordinates. ( all lies to me but whatever)

So we did the 2pm cruise, now it says its a 90 min cruise another lie, boat left at around 2.05 now it backs off from the pier and does another little loop in the port so basically we were in the port for a good 20min before we really began the cruise, we were back and the ship was docked at 3h20 ...this is not a 90min cruise.

For locals we went up the river just a little pass the Olympic stadium and we returned.
The guide on the boat was good , did give out interesting information.

There are drinks and food on board, not cheap but not too expensive either, we passed on it .
    Clean washrooms, very helpful staff.
You could go in the shade, sit in the sun or even indoors, 3 different levels that we had access to .

We wont be using them again and do not recommend them. Felt almost like a tourist trap excursion.

    hope this was helpful
    regards

Hello, Thank you very much for your comment! The opinions of our passengers mean a lot to us as they allow us to evolve in order to offer you a better experience in the future! The cruise time is approximate as it depends on several factors, we are sorry that you perceived this as a lie as the tour remains the same for each cruise. We look forward to seeing you on board. There were 2 large school groups who played such loud music it made the audio guide almost impossible to hear. The boat stays so far from shore some sights we’re very difficult to see. Most of the railing on the upper deck is hung with promotional banners restricting visibility almost completely. Be had ferry rides in other cities for a tenth of the cost that gave ten times more value!!!

We've luckily had excellent warm, summer weather, so getting out on the water was refreshing! There were several school bus loads on the tour, but they were kept on the lower deck, so the rest of us had the upper desk and I was very grateful. From the water you can look back and see the city from a "big-picture" perspective and I actually enjoyed seeing the areas where container ships load/unload. The guide was very good. We enjoyed a ice cold pitcher of Sangria too!

René was an amazing tour guide. He kept a great pace and provided many insights that went beyond the parameters of the tour. He was timely and were glad we booked the tour. He talked about buildings then and they way they are now; took us through some quaint areas of old Montréal that we probably wouldn’t have noticed without his expertise.

While I always find it interesting to view a city from the water, this was neither a "history" lesson nor "guided," making its name and description doubly misleading. The entire "cruise" consisted of going north about 35 minutes, then returning to the dock. There was no mention of history: in fact, not a single word was spoken on the boat's speaker system the entire time. So in no way was it "guided." Truly a disappointment. Last year we took a boat on the river in New Orleans, where we were told about the buildings we were passing. In Montreal it was little more than an excuse to sell bad food to captive passengers.
