- jenniandsimonh00A street art tour on steroidsWhat a brilliant way to spend a couple of hours in Montreal. Although you could see the main murals just by walking up the street, the tour really brings them to life, with stories about their creation, the background of the artists and what the different imagery means. The tour also shows you the hidden gems, down alleyways and behind buildings which you would not find or even notice yourself. Tiny little figurines of sad looking men perched above drainpipes, cat paw impressions in the bricks of buildings and a host of other wonderful things - if you want to see them all you need to do the tour! Our guide Danny was fantastic - passionate, knowledgeable and very entertaining. This tour is a must-do for any art-loving Montreal visitor.
- polinak5800Loved itAwesome! Really fun, informative, warm (even on a freezing cold day), and overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Would do this again in any other city!
- Brio P00Incredible tour showcasing Montreal street artHad an incredible walking tour with Gabriella exploring the Montreal street art along St. Laurent in Montreal. This is a very cool in depth and informative discovery of Montreal Graffiti art and offered a deeper understanding of the street art culture and the Montreal mural festival. We are now planning to come back for the festival in June. Thanks Gabriella
- carabellac00Definitely do this tourOur tour guide was Rodrigo. He was super knowledgeable about the murals and provided a lot of great information about Montreal. The murals are so intriguing and the talent exhibited is breathtaking. I will be recommending this tour to everyone I know who is coming to Montreal.
- Colliearto00Must do walking tour in Montreal. So glad I did this walking tour today. Danny was our guide and he was amazing. Friendly knowledgeable and runs a very slick tour. I recommend this as a must do if in Montreal. It’s a great way to get orientated in the city and see things you wouldn’t ordinarily see or notice; from Historical buildings and history notes, some great food and coffee stops, to amazing and iconic street art, there’s something for everyone. Thanks Danny 🙏🏻 10/10!
- Z6755SIlarissac00Would do it againI had the chance to learn more about the history of Montreal, appreciate art installations along the way, and get tips about different places and activities. The price of the tour already includes tickets to the Notre Dame Basilica, a snack in Chinatown and a cup of tea (or coffe), so I think it was a reasonable price, from what I saw in my research for tours in Montreal. The guide, Gabriela, was knowledgeable and friendly. I plan to do this tour again with a friend in the future.
- Sutton5000Basilica walking tour - A MONTREAL MUST DO !Gabriella is very knowledgeable and very pleasant to be around . Loved going inside all the sites . Especially, The Notre Dame Basilica and Eva B’s Cafe ! C SUTTON
- KBS595900Fascinating Mural TourThe mural tour was recommended to us by friends. So glad they gave us this suggestion. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Montreal. Our guide, Melanie, was well informed about the artists, the various forms of street art, and the annual mural festival. We learned so much over the two hours and saw a diversity of artistic styles and techniques. And the murals are striking and each beautiful in its own way.
- Sarah M00Great walking tour of Montreal! The Beyond the Basilica walking tour was a great way to see Montreal! It was 2.5 hours, so great for me as I didn’t expect to be in Montreal and had limited time. The tour had a little bit of everything. It started with a short history lesson in the square outside the Basilica. Then we proceeded into the Basilica, which was truly stunning. A benefit of the tour was direct entry with no lines. We proceeded outside and stopped by two sculptures where we learned more history. Then walked through the city to see some of the beautiful architecture and learned more about the history of the city. We experienced the underground tunnels, saw a section of the Berlin wall, and the convention center. Then headed to China, where the tour included a snack. We proceeded to walk further though the city and saw a thrift store that is a local institution and lots of great murals. The tour ended with a coffee or tea at a local establishment. Our super friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable tour guide, Melanie, gave both a hand out with recommendations on things to do in the city (def saving that for my next trip!) and personalized recommendations. The tour worked in two bathroom stops and a handful of indoor places. It was a nice day, but I can see where this would be super helpful on a cold day or day with not so great weather. Really great your overall! I think anyone who appreciates architecture, art, or history would enjoy it.
- Shergva00Great afternoonI had a great afternoon with Pascoal. We toured loads of great murals. Pascoal was very knowledgable about his subject matter and it was really interesting to have the art work put in context. Pascoal was happy to answer all questions and had lots of amusing stories about the area.
- 919linasp00Great tourGreat tour. Melanie is a true expert of street art. Perfect way to experience Montreal if you are not too into touristy stuff
- U8002QFnickp00Great Mural tourPascoal was our Mural tour guide yesterday and he was excellent! Giving us information not only about the Murals but on the history of Montréal too! Buy him 2 craft beers or kombucha cans! Nick
- J5933CBmattm00Bike tour exceeded expectations. Would go again. The Montreal bike tour was very memorable. The biking wasn't challenging, but it still felt like a satisfying exercise. Thom was our guide, and taught us a TON about the city.
- 536prajaktan00Colourful MontrealPascoal was such a great guide! He was super knowledgeable and friendly and funny. Had an amazing day out :) Thank you !!
- 179sapphirew00Super Fun TourI coordinated a small group for youth and was led by Pascoal. Pascoal is dynamic, FUNNY and very knowledgeable about the murals we saw. We had a great time and definitely see Saint Laurent a lot differently than I used to. Even though it was a bit cold and rainy (mid October) we totally enjoyed ourselves. Great tour!

Our guide, Danny, was excellent and the tour paced just right. We started with a Salvadorian restaurant where we sampled the pupusas ( new to us - tortilla type stuffed pancake served with kimchi and pickles) before moving on to the market where we were introduced to artisan cheese and charcuterie as well as ice cream . We finished the tour with an informal and al fresco picnic of fried chicken, mac n cheese and coleslaw. The samples had been carefully chosen to reflect the growing demands for artisan food in Montreal and the length was just right. Def highly recommended - I doubt if we would have managed on our won!

The host was a no show and the meeting place restaurant called to tell him there were 4 people waiting on him and gave me the phone. He said he emailed me a time change from 12 -2:00, but I missed it. He was unwilling to refund my money., so I called TA. Since I never confirmed the time change with him the original noon start stayed and TA gave me a full refund.

Hello!
You were notified on on September 8th, three weeks prior to your travels that the time was changed. If you don't look at your notifications and show up it's unfortunate but your responsibility. The other 6 guests came at the appropriate time having received the same time change....
We never denied you a refund, we told you to talk to Viator to get it. You booked with them and not us and that's why you have to talk to them, we're happy you got the refund.
You did write to us threatening "a horrible review of your tour" if we didn't help you. We did help you navigate your error. The food tour that was, for those who are on top of their game of course ;)

This tour is so much more than food! Marie walked us through several neighborhoods giving us history and perspective on where the city is going culturally. All the food samplings in the market were extraordinary. She also left us with several recommendations for food and drink establishments. Marie was delightful, informative, and engaging.

What an excellent tour! Our guide Chris was very knowledgeable and friendly and took us on a fascinating trip. Rather than take us for the regular local delicacies which we would be able to find for ourselves we were taken to more unusual venues. We started with pupusas at Restaurante Los Planes, a filled corn pancake traditionally from El Salvador. We then headed to an Italian Patisserie to try the cannoli which were delicious. Great timing too that we arrived when the Italian community were there with their vintage cars plus a couple of Ferraris. Next was a wander around Jean Talon food market for a selection of Quebec cheeses followed by the most delicious ice cream including sea buckthorn, local charcuterie, foraged foods, information about maple syrup and finally a picnic in the park. Chris was a great guide who was happy to answer our many questions. I would highly recommend this unique tour company.

We have done a number of market food tours in different cities but this was different and better. Our guide , Chris, was understated but knowledgeable and would tell us directly if he did not know something. It was another measure of success to hear the number of questions asked. The multicultural nature of the foods discussed and sampled was well received. The variety and amounts of food sampled were a most pleasant surprise. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone going to Montreal.

My husband and I enjoyed learning about foods that Montreal is not known for. Being from New York, we are fortunate enough to have tried a lot of great ethnic foods. The Montreal Italian bakery that Marie brought us to makes the best mini cannolis and until that time, I did not like cannolis.
Besides the delicious and filling food choices, Marie was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable. Our group size was small (total of 7) with very nice people. The walk was a good way to get familiar with neighborhoods we would not have found on our own. At the end of the tour, Marie gave us a list of the foods we had tasted and also a few restaurant recommendations.
The Jean Talon Market and Beyond is a great tour, make sure you come hungry.

We enjoyed our tour with Rodrigo this past weekend. From the start at a Salvadoran restaurant to the visits to multiple stalls at the market to a cold brew coffee shop and finally to our down home US Southern -style fired chicken and hush puppies picnic in the park, we had a fun time. Tried foods we hadnt tried before and learned a lot about the area.

Our tour guide Rodrigo was exceptional for the Beyond the Market tour. We really enjoyed the different tastings we did including the ice cream and the final surprise tasting!
We explored a new part of Montreal we may have otherwise not gone to on our quick trip to Montreal. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore the markets and learn about the areas of Montreal.

I was wondering how many miles do you walk for this tour?
KCinNH

I agree that it was probably around 2 miles total. There are many breaks in between and we did not feel tired at all after the tour. Keep in mind that you are about a 10 minute walk from where you started, so there be aware when you park at the beginning of the tour.
