What to expect
Meet the tour guide and the rest of the group at the Charlottetown Visitor Information Centre. Then make the drive north to Green Gables Shore for a few hours of sightseeing. Along the way, from rolling farmlands to a windswept coastline, make stops for photo opportunities at lighthouses and the popular Cavendish Beach. Green Gables Shore is a region on Prince Edward Island’s north coast that’s known for its stunning natural beauty—rolling hills, sandy beaches, and sandstone cliffs. It’s also the place that inspired L.M. Montgomery’s classic 1908 novel 'Anne of Green Gables.'  Stop at Green Gables Heritage Place and the Green Gables House, a National Historic Site located in Cavendish. Each year, hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world visit this farmhouse, plus the Haunted Wood and Balsam Hollow Trail, as described in the book. Finally, stop at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company to browse the selection of jams, marmalades and other items made with locally grown fruit.  The tour ends with a return trip to Charlottetown.

Dog friendly! Great experience!
Jun 2020
This was such a great experience, we brought our dog with us on vacation and this was a dog friendly place! The dogs can not go inside the buildings but we gladly took turns entering. Due to Covid-19 the lines were non existent and it was quick so a perfect time to visit! We highly recommend this as a tourist location for the whole family. They are practicing Covid safety, and the staff are all very friendly!

Excellent tour and guide!
Sep 2019
Our favorite part was being able to actually walk through the Green Gables house, and all around the grounds as well. We had taken a similar PEI tour before, but just drove by the house, and stopped for a quick photo op. This tour made it all come alive for us. Our tour guide, Roddie, was the best!

Step Back In Time!
Sep 2019
Have you read the "Anne of Green Gables" series of books? This site of the farm where Lucy Maude Montgomery once lived helps to bring the books to life. It's a glimpse of farm life in her lifetime and you can just see Anne running across the lawn. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed touring the house, barns and yard of this well preserved home. The displays of the author's life and accomplishments are well documented and interesting. Make it a "must see" stop on your next trip to the Maritimes! You will be glad you did!

P.E.I. is a beautiful island and we enjoyed the tour. The best part of the tour was the tour guide, Dave. His knowledge of the island and his sense of humour made for a very enjoyable day.

Enjoyable tour
Oct 2019
The countryside of PEI was beautiful. The tour director was knowledgeable but I was slightly disappointed with the Green Gables Estate. There was a short visit to the site with no time to explore the surrounding trails. The infrastructure for the number of tourists was a disappointment. The cafe was mobbed, the store was backed up to purchase a souvenir and there were long lines trying to get into the Green Gables home.

Has Potential to be Better
Oct 2019
We booked the tour from Australia well before our trip. The booking process was easy and clearly it worked.
The tour consisted of a drive around parts of the island with the driver pointing out sights and places of interest and a couple of stops including The Green Gables site.
We also stopped at a preserve and jam factory/outlet that offered great products. Unfortunately we were one of about 6 tour buses there at the same time which made the visit very crowded and uncomfortable. Better coordination of the buses would make for a more pleasant visit (and probably improve sales with people more disposed to look and taste.)
The Green Gables site was busy (as expected) but the operators had a good system for moving people through the house without detracting from the experience. There are several other locations in the complex providing insight and history about the famous book and author. I found it very interesting and informative.
At the end of the tour the bus driver took the bus close to the cruise ship boarding point for the convenience of the cruise ship people on the tour. He seemed surprised when we pointed out we were not cruise ship passengers. We walked the extra 200 metres back to the start point.

Wonderful tour!
Oct 2019
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and learned so much from our informative and entertaining guide, Art. The PEI countryside is beautiful, Green Gables is just as described in the book and a charming place to visit, loved the visit to the coast, the lobster village, and even the preserves store. Fortunately we were able to see some of Charlottetown too. Would highly recommend this tour!

Green Gables Shore Tour
Oct 2019
Well worth the time and money! Our tour guide, Dave Riley (with the bald head - Ha), and bus driver were great. Dave shared so much information and was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The meeting point for departure was a short walking distance from where our cruise ship docked. Four hours seems like a long time for a tour, but time went by quickly as we had 4 stops.
